Location, most staff are friendly, rooms are ok. Water heater in bathroom can be unpredictable. I chose Asia Hotel mainly because of the location. I know it was an old hotel but since I only have a couple of days in Bangkok, I chose it anyway. I read some of the reviews that said the hotel is old, there's a smell, water heater problem, small rooms etc, so I expected some of these may occur. To my surprise, despite being an old hotel, it is pretty well maintained. No smell in the room and it was pretty roomy. Water heater did give me a bit of problem on the last day, but it was a small thing. Most staff are friendly. They even helped me taking out my SIM card that was stuck inside my mobile. So all in all, I am satisfied with Asia hotel.
Travel tip : If you're on a budget, dont take the Airport taxi service at the hotel, it will cost you 900 baht. Ask the concierge to get a metered-taxi from outside, it only cost me 220 baht!

Great location for the markets and shy train Limited eating facilities in the immediate area. The rooms are looking older and the level of facilities is slipping behind the norm. Good service and the Calypso "Boy - Girl" show held in the basement of the hotel is fabulous.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Sky train is very cheap, clean and airconditioned and connects to the river and MRT to get you anywhere in Bangkok without the hassel of the taxi service.

Excellent location - sky train, MBK, Siam Center just outside the hotel door. Service OK. Little bit old fashion atmosphere. Coming back -70 style. Big hotel without any character but rooms are cleaned and beds comfortable. Excellent location.

LOCATION - attached to the BTS so you cna hop on and off any time. Lovely foyer, breakfast, and some staff were very friendly. Some staff were rude, pushy, and tried to charge ridiculous prices for taxis, tours, etc. We recieved the honeymoon treatment - rose petals and a swan-shaped towel arrangement! When we were checking out I was perched on the arm of a sofa chair in the main foyer just waiting for our luggage and a staff member asked me to please not sit on the arm of the chair as it can ruin the chair (!?) - it was an old worn chair, hmmmm. Th elocation was what sold this hotel to me again and again - its the best feature, but the rest of the hotel is pretty good too :-)
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Buy a BTS card and top it up with Baht as you travel - they aren't meant to be used for short stays but we did anyway and its much cheaper, you fill it up using the machines at each station (no lining up or talking to staff required).

There is a Nice pool on the roof, and the gym was nice too. Breakfast is good and the selection was wide. Unfortunately the hotel is old and needs improvement especially the bathrooms. The shower is way too low for western people and it's very outdated. But besides the bathroom, the room was nice. Staff was very good.

On the BTS, 5 minutes walk to MBK and Siam neighbouring shopping malls. 10-15 minute walk to Platinum Mall. Good breakfast Some rooms need to be refurbished. Excellent location on the BTS makes for easy access to most places in Bangkok. Hotel staff are friendly. Cost was reasonable though some rooms could do with a refurbishment. Nearby are reasonably priced street food stalls. The Siam Paragon, MBK and Siam Center are all one BTS stop away. We found a tailor (Pierre) near the hotel that made excellent shirts at very reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly. We have stayed at this hotel on several ocassions and keep going back because of the location.Taxis are easily available

good location direct connect to BTS train station. Asia hotel is located in the middle of the city of Bangkok. First of all, you can walk to the BTS train station without getting strong sunlight and rain. It contributes to your shopping satisfaction. You can also enjoy the famous beautiful women show in the hotel. Don't forget to reserve the ticket in advance to get the best seats. Although Bangkok is getting developed year by year Asia Hotel Bangkok seems not to be flown by the trend..

efficient, clean, courteous, affordable, great location, vietmenese restaurant, space breakfast variety, no tissues in room, bottled water wou be nice The Asia hotel is conveniently located on the skytrain and near all major shopping areas. It is a prime location for meetings, very accessible with very good facilities. The rooms are of good size although the furnishings and amenities are bit Spartan, e.g., no tissues, extra pillows or blankets. Overall the Asia hotel is good value for money with competent courteous staff.
Restaurant Tip : the hotel's vietmanese restaurant is excellent

Excellent personal service, comfortable rooms, unbeatable location right next to the Skyway, restaurants that offer good service and good food. Probably not the responsibility of the hotel, but the vultures (a western name for unscrupulous taxi drivers)that lurk outside the hotel are a manace in every way. I wish the hotel would rid itself of these creatures. Obviously, this is not the first time I have stayed at this hotel. The staff is generally most helpful, courteous, and friendly. I do like the idea they remember me when they greet me.The location next to the Skyway is most convenient, especially in inclement weather. The rooms at the hotel are safe, as is the surrounding neighborhood.

Shower facilities to freshen up for those who checkout late and still awaiting for their departure flights. Aging furnishing.
Musky smell along the common corridor on the 6th floor; likely from carpet or AC.
Bedroom slippers not provided to protect against the cold bathroom floor. This is a hotel I would usually stay for its reasonable pricing given the prime location where it is situated i.e. the direct link to the BTS skytrain from the hotel second floor. This to me is one of the key attractive feature to avoid wasting too much time getting caught up in the infamous Bangkok traffic. There are numerous food outlets and street vendors within the vicinity to satisfy one's taste buds. Within walking distance is the wholesale apparel vendors in the Bayoke area.

Good location, close to shopping and skytrain. the internet service in the hotel was outrageously overpriced. A lot cheaper across the street. We stayed at the hotel for six nights in december 2008. We would return if we once again go to Bangkok. Good location in central Bangkok, close to MBK and a skytrain station. The staff were very helpful. Roomservice was very good. The babycoy was old, but very good even for an child of three yrs old.

Asia Hotel is a nice and friendly hotel in central part of Bangkok. Very close to MBK, only two Sky Train Stations to get there. The hotel is quite big with many shops and restaurants. Two outside swimming pools on the roof with one heated jacuzzi. Unfortunately no Thai food restaurant in the hotel, only Brazilian?, Chinese and others. Nice big rooms with view over Bangkok. We are very satisfied with the hotel.
Shopping Tip : MBK is only two sky train stations away.

Great restaurants
Extremely helpful staff We did not find any faults with this hotel We visit Bangkok frequently, but this was our first stay at The Asia Hotel. We found it to be in a great location next to Skyrail station with very efficient and helpful staff who were always happy to assist. Pool and gymnasium were well equipped and maintained. We visited all restaurants which were of a very high standard yet affordable. We will definitely stay at the Asia Hotel whenever we visit Bangkok in the future.
Hotel Feature Tip : We thought the 24 hour restaurant was great if you got back late from your city tours

Direct entrance to the skytrain.
Closed to shopping centers.
Nice rooms and good breakfast. We stayed already two times in the Asia hotel and will come again. From the first floor of the hotel you have direct access to the skytrain and the big shopping centers are in walking distance. The rooms are nice and clean and the breakfast buffet is very good. We will come again.
