Astera Sathorn Hotel, Bangkok

It is sutuated near the business center of the city. Everything is near - shopping centers, small open markets to buy any fruits, even McDonalds is 5 minutes walk. It will take you about 5 minutes to walk by feet to rich a river or even to have a boat trip. There is a metro station near also you can get there by taxi off course. The swimmimg pool is pretty nice. Designed well. Also I liked it's decoration. The decoration is the thing which is something special in this hotel. The stuff was really friendly. It was a pleasure for me to stay couple of day there.

Booked a junior suite for 5 nights coz the room pictures on their website and agoda looks terrific. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted by their lovely professional staff. When shown the junior suite room, I was very disappointed as the room did not look anything like the picture. If anything the bedroom looked like a superior room (on their website) and felt quite dull. Rang Agoda the next day to confirm that I got the correct suite. Agoda staff was very helpful and investigated further. Response from hotel was that it was a correct junior suite room. Couldn't be bother to argue with them. All the staff were very friendly yet very professional. They know when and where their presence and warm greetings are needed by their guests. Location wise, it is between 2 BTS ie Surasak & Saphan Taksin. Closer one is the latter one next to the river and there are lots of eating places and a big shopping mall. Good location too if you are into river cruises.. and the pier is also just adjacent to BTS. Walking to the BTS can feel a bit dark and dirty but hey, it's a budget hotel! I found a small cockroach and some ants in lounge room one night, but i think it was because i left opened food on the table.

This hotel is excellent value as it has excellent location for transporti.e near Skytrain and Central Pier.The staff are excellent and readily give you a late checkout.The rooms are clean and comfortable. It is no trouble to catch one of the many taxis going by.Highly recommended for the budget minded who want some quality as well
