- shuttle to Siam! - housekeeping requests are not served right away; person answering calls to housekeeping sometimes do not understand the request but will say yes anyway. A couple of times, my request was not served so you really need to follow-up.
- concierge not very helpful when asked to provide options for local dining in the vicinity. He just wanted to promote Baiyoke dining -- which is good but you can't always eat in the hotel. My husband and I really enjoyed staying at Baiyoke Sky. The hotel is strategically located - a few blocks from Petchaburi where most of the shopping places are), and it also provides a shuttle to Siam (MBK, Siam Discovery, Siam Center, etc).
The view from the observatory is also a big plus. It's great to see the city while having breakfast with your husband. Quite romantic and relaxing (just don't mind the view of Bangkok traffic!)
The price was quite reasonable yet the food, facilities, guest rooms and service was impressive. Only basic necessities are provided so best to bring your toiletries.
Value for money.
Shopping Tip : Take the shuttle to Siam. Spend half day (or more) at MBK --- no need to go to Patpong because you will find everything here.
You can also go to the Siam Discovery Mall -- Mac cosmetics is cheaper here than in my country.

Baiyoke sky hotel is the best hotel I had ever stayed at.
The best view I ever seen.
The Buffet is also something to write about. Maybe 200 different kinds of food, and the price:about 11 Euro.
I can really recommend this hotel for other guests.
Very good service and nice and clean rooms.
Suits all ages.

- VERY VERY SMELLY I didnt realize that when i book the hotel i made it for one person, so when i reached the hotel with my wife, i had to pay another US$30 per night. The room alone already has a king size bed... so that shouldnt be a problem.
Shopping Tip : Lots of stall around the area.... morning, afternoon, evening...

The hotel is in a great location with great views of the city. If you aren't afraid of heights, then this is the place to stay. The check-in and check-out could be quicker, although I found I had a similiar experience in all hotels I stayed in Thailand. The windows could do with more cleaning. The hotel is in a great location close to Pantip Plaza (cheap DVD's, software, electronics). The breakfast, on a very high floor, has a fantastic buffet selection. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The rooms are clean, roomy and comfortable. We were 3 people in the sky zone junior suite. The hotel is in a great location with great views of the city. If you aren't afraid of heights, then this is the place to stay.
Shopping Tip : Pantip plaza is close by where you can purchase pirated DVD's, software etc.

Location was brilliant, only a step away from the markets. I would of booked a foot and body massage but the hotel prices were nearly triple of what was being offered around the corner. perhaps the prices could be looked at? This was my first time in Bangkok and i was not sure where to stay. I wanted somewhere central, close to the major shopping centres and the local markets. I found the railway system was only a ten mimute walk away from the hotel and the markets were straight out of the front door. The hotel was well known and i had no trouble finding the hotel when asking for directions when i needed them.
I had a complimentary upgrade and the room was magnificent. Staff were everywhere and very eager to assist. I found them very friendly and they all could speak English. The staff were a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was included in the price and it was good.....
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you are into sight seeing on the river, use the local ferries, much cheaper and you get the true Bangkok experience.

The view from this hotel is fantastic. You cannot get a better view - it allows you to see the whole city by day and night. The restaurant is on the 84th floor and you could sit there for the whole day and night. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and offered all the usual facilities. The buffet breakfst was superb and you could watch the traffic chaos building whilst you enjoyed choices for every possible taste. This hotel was excellent value and very well priced I thought. It is in the Pratunam area with shopping centres located close by, and markets at the front door. You need to walk up a few stairs to get into the hotel and then take the lift to the lobby so it is not a grand entrance at all from street level but well worth the wait until you get to your room! We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel for the wonderful views offered day and night. At night you can go all the way to the top and enjoy the outdoor revolving top floor and the lights of the city all around you - there is nothing like this! The location was good with a street market at your doorstep, fast food outlets close by if you can't live without your western food, and various restaurants close by. It is truly worth the view to stay here. Public transport on the sky train was a bit of hike though.
Hotel Feature Tip : The view from this hotel over the whole of Bangkok is unsurpassed - it is well worth staying here just to enjoy that! The buffet breakfast offers a huge variety for all tastes.

it is my most favourite hotel in whole thailand and i definitelly stay there whenever i go to bangkok i think this is my fith or sixth stay. it is value for money and my favourite is the sky zone which is arond 60th floor. i think it is one of the best value for money hotels in bangkok. make sure you make your booking online as they charge extra 20 percent or so when you walk in and book. you can find the main street markets and all sorts of shops just outside the hotel, taxi rank is just outside the hotel, everything is very easy to reach apart from the sky train which is about 20 minutes of walk away.

morning breakfast and location. rooms not well furnished,gloomy atmosphere,not many facilities for recreation given to the occupants as a complimentary benefit,staff not courteous , may be overworked. though booked two double bed rooms in the name of two adults were charged extra for additional two,entrance lobby poorly managed and very shabby. no proper signage for customers. drivers of the shuttle for Siam Center and others were not as if not interested in their work.too much overcrowding because too many activities and too many visitors coming for sky tower views.overall it doesn't give very good impression for a good hotel
Shopping Tip : buy at tokoyu department store at mbk center if don't have time to bargain.

area location very central. cleanliness,cockroaches in room,sewer smell in room complained to desk but did nothing about it,also could not walk out of breakfast area eating a fruit,found this very odd firstly booked sky hotel and was sent to suite hotel,do not what happened and was charged for this,at sky hotel was given a dirty room on check in,cockroaches dead on the floor,although hotel is in good location hotel needs to clean up
service was good staff in lobby were helpful.

Really nice and comfort bed. Big bathroom with both shower and bath. A long line for checkin and checkout. I can recomend the Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Bangkok. Good food, friendly staff and a great view. Close to everything and a great location for shopping. The hotel also offers you a free transfer to the big MBK shopping mall. Many great resturants inside and a nice bar with a fantasic view at the top roof. The cleaning is good and the room was big and comfortable.
Shopping Tip : Weekend market in Mo Chit is great!

Very good location. Inside golf driving range. Amazing international buffet. Friendly staff. Free shuttle to shopping. Awesome rooftop view (without paying any fee). It has an very good location. We had a spacious room with everything we needed in it. The rooftop is incredible - you can see the city both at day and night, as many times as you want without paying the 200 baht fee that non-residents pay each time they want to go on the rooftop.
If it's winter time in your native country and you love golf, then you can use the golf driving range located in the hotel to practice your shots (this was an awesome feature).
They have a free shuttle to shopping.
The breakfast is absolutely amazing - it is international and you can find almost every kitchen you can think about.
We had to check out at 4:00AM in the morning and they offered to prepare our breakfast to take it with us.
All in all it was a good hotel choice.

Bell boy have attitude problem. Overall I found it's quite a nice place to stay, very convenience,some nice staffs down there. But it quite troublesome that we cant access the lift to our friends's room. A very troublesome way to get them to come down to fetch us up. Encountered a bell boy/staff who has a very bad attitude! Hopefully the management will look into it.

Good view, large space, not so expensive. A little bit far from BTS. Very good view on the top of hotel. Also the room has quite large space. This hotel is near many shops nearby, so I think it is very good for the tourists who like shopping. However, you have to walk a little bit to go to the BTS if you do not want to use taxi.
