VALUE FOR MONEY AT A BUSY CITY HOTEL

Stayed here during Songkran as wanted to keep out of the thick of it. This hotel is the tallest building in Thailand, 87 floors I think with several restaurants at the top with spectacular views over the city. The buffet at the grill is excellent with everything you can think of going through the card from aperatives to desserts with magicians coming around the table entertaining the kids and even the adults. The hotel although getting on the way to looking tired is very comfortable albeit very busy and slightly frustrating having to keep changing lifts but not too much of an inconvenience for us. If you don't want to go out of the building this is ideal as has everything you need even a Family Mart.

It was only a one night stay. Though we've been upgraded (understand here that we got a higher floor than initially planned), the room was rather basic with a weird smell in it. The AC was leaking a lot of water, one of the couches in the morning was soaked as well as the carpet. No free internet connection. Taxi in front of the hotel will not use the meter because "they have a spot in front of the hotel and have to get back to it" (metered fare is 300, no metered fare will be at least 400)

The stay was horrible. There was no ironing board, and iron inside the room. When requested for room service, it took forever to arrive.
When the items arrive, we got ourselves a faulty ironing board and iron.
The lift was a total nightmare.
The network at high levels is close to impossible and they charges for wifi

Choose the hotel, thinking it would be good as an Agoda recommendation, but instantly realised made mistake as we arrived. Hectic bustling entrance which isn't helped by staff that seem disinterested. Choose a non smoking room but the whole hotel had smell of cigarettes. Also the most basic request was usually answered with a no! A hotel that caters for large coach tours, so no real personal service.
