Cheap. Accessible. Helpful staff.

Lack of facilities. Hotel & room run down. Mosquitoes. Poor breakfast.

I had stayed in this particular hotel for almost 5-6 times over the past 5 yrs. Initially the price and hotel standards were of the acceptable range. The price was cheap and located in the prime area. However when i re-visited the hotel this yr, the condition of the hotel was run down. Bath tub was dirty, the shower curtain was filled with dark spots. Tiles in the bath room were dirty. The curtains had piled with dirt, pathetic TV channels available. The breakfast was not even appealing. That made me skipped all my breakfasts. Mosquitoes were everywhere in the room. While awaiting for our taxi in the lobby, we were bitten by mosquitoes were they had planted their plants. I felt that this is the last time i would be visiting the hotel as the hotel was not maintained.

The location was good near central world.

TV channels.

I stayed here in 2008 Dec. 31 for countdown at central world. I liked the lobby, and the staff was very friendly. The room was clean. The morning breakfast was OK. Not great. The location was good for me, as it was close to some wholesale and export clothing malls where I did the bulk of my shopping at. It's close to some good amenities as well, like the Big C supermarket and Central World Mall.

location is good... if you particularly like shopping, like we do, the hotel is close to several malls. Also, come night time, several stalls are set up on the sidewalks. Street foods also frolic in the area - which is one of the best ways to taste Thai food.

Hidden charges ... the hotel charged me a corkage fee for the snack wrappings they found in my room - which is a hotel rule i have only come to find out upon check out.

Everything was well except when i checked out. The hotel, to my surprise, charged me a corkage fee for all the snacks i have brought into the hotel room. They apparently looked into my trash bin and charged me for the wrappers they found in it which were not in their bar offerings. I was in disgust, coz never in any of my hotel stays abroad have I heard of such a thing! To my disbelief, they say it is the rule anywhere in Thailand.

Shopping Tip : If you are looking for cheap finds, wait at night time as stalls (in the philippines we call it 'tiangges') start setting up at the sidewalks - those in front of pratunam center, and in front of isetan mall.

-Accessibility to Shopping malls, Massage Parlours, Food, Road side stalls, Money changer, tourism authority. -24hr room service [food].

- Hotel staff attitude [front desk]. - Harden Bed.

What it is great about City Inn - Great location with lots of road side stalls, surrounded by big shopping malls, 24 hr service of room food service, money changers and tourism authority board is just next building, massage parlour are just rite opposite which provides good massage in affordable price. What i dislike - Hotel staff are a little unwilling to assist customer especially when we are asking for a change of room. Beds that are provided are way to hard to imagine that its mattress and not wood and it is definitely unsuitable for skins that are weak and sensitive.

Shopping Tip : When you approach a stall owner by the road sides for stuff that you would like to buy - always remember to cut the price by at least half [especially if you don't know how to speak Thai] and bring a calculator with you as a means of communication during your price cutting with the owner...

Facility is not very complete.

This time I stayed in this hotel with my old parents. They also like this hotel very much due to the location is very good and they are happy that they can go around by themselves.

Good location.

Cleanliness and food.

The location is the best part for me to choose this hotel but in my four night stay, there are some kind of smelly smell outside of my room. From the corridor to my room there is some kind of smell which we cannot accept. We really felt uncomfortable. Secondly we need to make comments on the dinner side. Dinner only serve and prepare when we request and it take quite sometime to get ready.

Shopping Tip : Is very near to most of shopping centre.

Breakfast is not good

This is a old hotel mostly for asia people,u can see that in breakfast their they only serving asia food and some very bad coffe. The location is perfect so close to shopping and that is we come back to this hotel. Staff working in the reception is not very nice, not seems to not realy care about customer and that is one big negative thing about this hotel. One other is that the room are starting to get realy old, and the carpet in the room start to smell bad from everything people drop on it. So Iam not sory if I gone recommendet to friends

good location

fair room condition

Bangkok City Inn has a very good location for sightseeing and shopping because lots of shopping malls and convenient transportation nearby. Yet, the customer service is just of fair standard. For instance, upon our arrival to the hotel from airport, as we just had a 1000 baht bank note and the taxi driver claimed having no change for me, I asked for the hotel's help but the recpetionist told that she just had two 500 baht bank notes for me to change. At last, I needed to change the 500 baht bank note with nearby shop. I still recommend this hotel for budget travellers.

Location, Location, Location at a price you cannot beat!

Hallway carpets had an old musky smell.

Bangkok City Inn has one of the best location in Bangkok for travellers on an economical budget. You are close to all the major shopping centres which can keep you busy throughout your visit there. Alternatively its a short taxi ride to some of the more famous markets like Chatuchak market and of course Chinatown market. Rooms were clean, although hallway carpets could do with a change. Tour desk was very helpful with taxi booking going to the airport at normal rates not inflated hotel rates.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Conveniently located for shopping and just around the corner is a massage place Indara which is great for a massage after all that shopping!

Everything

Nothing really

Old hotel but clean. staff very friendly & service is very good. the meals are very nice in the restaurant or delivered to your room. free breakfast is great & there is a good variety of food at breakfast. I was staying at the Indra Regent for 9 years but as I am single I was paying for a double which was 3 times the price I am paying at the Bangkok City Inn. I will be staying there again on my next visit to Bangkok.

Shopping Tip : A great hotel a great location & a great price
