Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

location on the river side/boat shuttle into town
friendly staff
I LOVE the huge swimming pool
the Italian restaurant was not so good, but the breakfast buffet and the the restaurant at the Trader Vic`s (in the hotel) are very good.
I know the hotel since 1995 and it is still in my view the best and nicest luxury hotel in Bangkok.

It feels like a real resort in Bangkok. Easy transport to the city by shuttle boat to Sky Train. The usual unusually friendly Thai staff was great. Rooms nice. Food decent. I recommend it.
A bit out of the way, but you can get around fairly easily if you know how to use the water taxis and Sky Train. Expensive internet. All in all, few cons.
The Bangkok Resort and Spa is unusual in Bangkok. The only "resort", I believe. You would swear you were on one of the islands and the beach was out front, but it is just Chao Praya. The staff is excellent, friendly, and helpful. Getting around is not all that hard with the 10 minute shuttle to the Taksin Sky Train station. There's a mall in the back (or front, depending on how you look at it) with shopping (I don't shop) and good Thai restaurants at typical Thai prices. If you want to get away a little bit, but close to everything the city has to offer, this is an excellent choice.
Travel tip : Only two obvious tips: the shuttle to the Taksin Sky Train is short and convenient, as are the many water taxis from Sathorn/Taksin up the river to many sites. The mall at the hotel actually has decent Thai restaurants, reasonably prices. They have their version of Friendly's or Denny's, but the food is good and Thai hot.
