Having stayed in several different hotels in Bangkok I would like to recommend this hotel. I guess that most Europeans would find it pleasant, and at a reasonable cost.
The hotel is a beautiful place, and a pleasant place to spend 2-3 days. Tha transportation across the river works well. There are several restaurants, all with good food. The staff are helpful and gives the guests good service
The area around the hotel is not for walking. You have to use the boat. (A small thing): The gym is not prepared for Europeans. The different stations are too small for normal Europeans!

We returned for the second time to the Marriott since the first time we liked the location away from the hassle of the city. The Mariott gives you somewhat of a "Resort-atmosphere" in the city, also because it is not visited by business people. The rooms are nicly designed and there is a big pool as well as all the facility you would expect from such a big hotel. The shuttle boat leaves every 10 minutes and brings guests in a 20 minute ride to the skytrain station and river boat stations which connect to most of the city.
Eventhough it is not a new hotel it is a good joice for people who have other things in mind that pure shopping and partying.
- Nice Thai-style resort;
- Away from the noise of the city;
- Nice rooms and facilities;
- Rich breakfast buffet;
- Shuttle boat to the Skytrain station;
- Can appear a bit crowded at high season
- Not ideal for party folks
- Restaurant Tip : "The Good View" restaurant just across Krung Thep Bridge (ask hotel staff) offers delicious Thai food just next to Chao Phraya River

We stayed at a delax twin bed room with an extra single bed. The room size and the bed size were excellent. The breakfast food were also excellent with many varieties including few Japanese & Chinease dishes also. A relatively small but very convenient SC is located just next to the hotel.
You can also find some excellent & reasonably priced restaurants at the SC.
Resort like stay.
Food & drinks at the Hotel restaurants were rather expensive.
a good view of the river

The Marriott Bangkok Resort & Spa is very nicely situated at the river. No worries about the noise, the polution, the traffic of Bangkok. Eventhough very easy access to the Bangkok-inner city by the relaxing, free, and very frequently operating boat shuttle service from hotel to Bangkok city, with direct connection to the skytrain and boattaxis. Very friendly personnel, good restaurants in the resort, a nice swimming pool and a sweet chocolate bar.
place to be, situated out of the crowds and within distance to join it all.
outside food and beverage.
- Hotel Feature Tip : use the free boat shuttle service.

The Mariott Hotel and Spa in Bangkok is a great oasis of silence and great to relax from the bussy city. It is easy to reach all the points of interest just by using the hotel ferry and then the public boat, that way you don't have to use a taxi and be in a traffic jam. We had a great time, excellent breakfast and food and enjoyed the good service also for kids.
excellent food, extra cafes and bars
great pool
good fitness area and program
nothing
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : the temples can be reached easyly by boat (Wat Po and Wat Phra Kaeo)

Certainly one of my most pleasureable stays at a Marriott. Attentive staff, lush surroundings, classic and timeless appeal, relaxed atmosphere, in contrast to the ultra modern Peninsula and Hyatt. Loved the 15 minute ferry rides to Taksin train stop by the Chao Phraya. From there everything is reachable.
beautiful, resort like in tropical garden. One of the most hospitable staff I have encountered worldwide. Lightning speed response from "at your service". Breakfast worth getting up in the morning for. Helpful and knowledgeable concierge.
Didn't care for the dimsum in the Chinese restaurant. Didn't like my dinner at Trader Vic' (oven baked Sea Bass, my husband said ribs were not soft enough. But staff was very polite and they had a nice band. Benihana too noisy, almost like a children's place, we had to leave.
Another thing is that hourly and daily internet service charges are so steep. I really think by now internet should be universally available for free.
- Travel tip : It's lovely to have a foot and full body Thai massage for 2 hours for only $20. They're all over the place. Excellent shopping at Siam Center, Shilom, RIver City. Great place to buy jewelry.

I have stayed Marriott Bangkok for 1 night.
The experience in this hotel was tremendous. I have stayed many similar hotels, but I can say this hotel is surely one of the best.
You probably don't want to escape from this hotel on your holiday period.
You can choose many different types of cuisine in the hotel e.g. Italian, Japanese or Thai food. We had 2 sessions of spa in 2 days time.
100 minuts full body massage cost about 60GBP and 4 hours romantic spa including scrub, full body massage and facial costs about 300GBP for two. It was so worth it. The water condition in the poor was very reasonable. You can see nice rest spaces. The room condition was very nice. I will definately definately come back to Marriott Bangkok one day. If you stay some budget hotels over your journey in Thailand, it might be an idea spend a little more money on your last day in this hotel to come back to your own country. My friends also stayed in this hotel. Their children just loved it. Good for family too!!!
Excellent restaurants and spa.
Free shuttle boats every 15 minutes
Very kind members of staff
Clean and tidy
None
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You can use the shuttle boat and change to a trip boat or a train. This trip boat visits many tour attractions. I used a train to visit a shopping centre. Not very impressed but cheaper than shopping in the UK. 1GBP for return ticket. You can also have a look a nice market on the weekend.
Always nice

Hotel Location and breakfast buffet are a big plus, having an early breakfast outdoors on the river terrace is a nice way to start your business day.
However, hotel is nearly always full and a little bit too crowded.
Too many children jumping and jelling in and around the pool. Functions such as weddings or company presentations are quite noisy and getting in the way of normal hotel live. Relaxation was a bit difficult this time.
Location by the river is good, staff is friendly and helpful.
Rooms are getting a bit tired, need renovation.
