Good & vast restaurant, friendly staff and fast check in.
Area far from BTS station & shopping centers, no wireless internet connection, AC is not working well (not cooling, works as fan!), disgusting smell in the room and corridors, far from shopping centers and BTS station.
The hotel needs a comprehensive update and rennovation, furthermore, it shoulf also provide free shuttles for the guests to the train station at least for one time per day, I do not suggest the visitors of bangkok to stay in this hotel. A free wireless internet connection is necessary to make the stay more interesting.

nearby railway station Makkasan, huge swimming pool, great breakfast buffet.
sometimes breakfast room too crowded.
I love Bangkok Palace because of its friendly staff, Pratunam area very convenient, huge pool, market and Platinum close and very busy area. Newspaper, big room and clean, really worth for the money. Sometimes later check-out and earlier check-in, if the hotel isn't fully booked. I felt like I was coming home, since seven years (once or twice) I'm coming to the Bangkok Palace.
Shopping Tip : Pantip Plaza and Platinum can be reached easily by walking distance

Rooms were not upto standard. Bell Boy and other services were very poor. No wireless in the rooms.
It was not such a memorable experience however for the price it does the job.

Great value property, clean and safe with friendly service - the newly renovated pool area is nice and the hotel is in good proximity to local shopping
The outside of the hotel looks like it needs a fresh coat of paint
The Bangkok Palace Hotel has ben a consistently good value hotel for some time, offering clean facilities and friendly service. Even the mini bar in the room is reasonably priced. Be careful to also check the hotel's web site prior to booking as they often have excellent discounted rates a month or more prior to booking, although the AGODA best price guarantee means they will match it if confirmed within 48 hours of booking. We will be coming back to the Bangkok Palace Hotel
Travel tip : Watch out for the opening of the Skytrain service linking Bangkok city to the airport - there is a station virtually next door to the Bangkok Palace. You will even be able to check in at the train station, meaning that you don't have to carry your luggage with you - its a similar system to Hong Kong

The managers and concierge really tried to help us enjoy Bangkok. One helped us find a fishing pond where we (poor anglers) caught 300 kilos of catfish in 4 hours. For us that was a great way to spend a hot afternoon.
The room air conditioner never got really cold, but it made the room comfortable.
The Bangkok Palace is an older hotel that offers good value for economy minded travelers. While the luxury has started to wane, the rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is substantial and varied. The dinner buffet is subsidized with a generous coupon and it provides a way to sample lots of Thai dishes. The hotel is also close to the Central Dept store and it super penthouse food court with a view and great food from across SE Asia.
Restaurant Tip : There are lots of excellent international restaurants (Chitlom) and sidewalk vendors nearby, as well as high and low cost shopping venues. We liked the youthful action at the MBK mall.

Location, easy to get to main attractions
room conditions, food quality.
We stayed in Bangkok Palace for three days in March 2009.
Good location, but a bit noisy, our windows where facing to Highway.
Staff was helpful, however room was smelly and not clean. Maybe because we used family room, which is not used very often.
Food choice in breakfast is quite limited, but you still will be able to find something to eat.
In the future I’ll choose different hotel to stay in Bangkok.

Does not deserve 4 stars. Tried to convinced me to take hotel's car to the airport for 1000 Baht although I requested a Taximeter taxi.
Eventually following my complain I got a taxi and paid only 250 Baht.

Clean, helpful, good location, nice atmosphere.
Noise from the highway that runs beside the hotel.
The Bangkok Palace Hotel is a beautiful, well appointed hotel. The staff are friendly, helpful and available twenty four hours per day. The Breakfast buffet was exceptional but go early because some items are not restocked when they run out.
If you are going to Bangkok for shopping I think you will find the Bangkok Palace the right place to stay. You are close to the major shopping centers of the city and can even walk to them if you like. Or a metered taxi ride is only about $2.00. Don't use the taxi service inside the hotel. It will cost you 4 to 5 times that amount.
I will stay at the Bangkok Palace again when I visit Bangkok.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Don't get taken by the tour promoters at the airport.

hug pool, great breakfastbuffet, newspaper, Gymroom, large room
breakfastroom sometimes too crowded, in your room you hear your neighbour easily, if you dont sleep very deep
Since 2002 Hotel Bangkok Palace is my favorite hotel, when I start my traveling in BKK. Also Makkasan trainstation is nearby. For shopping at Pratunam market it is a walking distance. PantipPlaza for electronics and the big shopping mall Platinum are very closed by walking distance. Allways a warm welcome at the BKK Palace, when I arrive (once or twice a year) also by the director. The price for 4star hotel is really good value for money.
Shopping Tip : Pratunam market and Pantip plaza nearby, just walking distance

away from the crowded shopping area but within walking distance. Friendly and attentive staff who's always smiling. Reasonable breakfast spread.
from the hotel drieway to the neareast 7eleven always being touted by tuk tuk and taxi drivers refusing to operate with the meter
both my wife and I together with another couple checked in on the 11th Feb for 5 nights, we enjoyed our stay without any hitches and will return and recommend our other friends to stay at the Bangkok Palace.
Shopping Tip : 10 minutes walk from the hotel to the main Pratunam Shopping area

A couple of massaging and hair salon nearby
Bad breakfast service.\nHotel condition wear down.
The breakfast area is under renovation and the tables are not sufficient to handle the crowd in peak morning. The food variety is miserable and there is no waitress/waiter to take initiative to refill the cup, spoon, forks, place and the FOOD. \n\nStayed for 3 days and every morning, there will be people questioning and shouting at the manager for the slow refilling.\n\nBeen staying at Bangkok palace for \u003e5 times and this is the first time i really felt disappointed by their service and room condition.
Shopping Tip : Many hair and massaging salon nearby.

Hotel is in good position, near center of Bangkok, Room is clean.
TV remote does not work well. I pressed the button many time but it does not work.
Palace hotel is near shopping center very convenient. Only 10 minutes walk to Pratunam. I walk there at night for shopping. Hotel is very busy with full of travelers although Thailand is now not safe due to politic problems. Receptionists are open and willing to help visitors. Breakfast is OK.
