Decent Business Hotel - Centrally Located
Centrally Located, Clean, Nice Rooftop Restaurant / Bar
5.7
we were slightly disappointed in this hotel as we were arriving from the koh samui banyan tree which was exceptional. the staff at the bangkok banyan tree were not as pleasant and seemed less friendly. the hotel clearly caters to business travelers. there is not the same level of service as experienced at other banyan tree's we have stayed at. the rooms are decent but nothing special and slightly worn. the breakfast is a nice spread with many options. there is not free in room wi-fi which is strange considering this is a business hotel. the rooftop bar offers lovely 360 degree views of the city however the hostesses are quite rude (especially regarding the "dress code") we found it off-putting that we (guests) were treated like second class citizens for wearing flip flops while business men accompanied by "escorts" were treated like celebrities. we were a little disappointed in the caliber of clientele - and to see that men were permitted to bring "escorts" into the hotel common areas (restaurants/bars/etc). we originally planned to stay at the lebua state tower and changed our plans since our previous banyan tree experiences were so positive. not an awful hotel but not 4/5 star by us standards.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Do not let tuk tuk drivers take you to their "sponsor" shop/tailor. It is a ploy to trap you in a position where you are solicited to no end.

Amazing hotel
Excellent food and service
8.7
We were on honeymoon and if we were not more adventurous we would not have left the hotel. The spa was amazing the pool was great for a quick dip but the view and atmosphere from the Vertigo restaurant on the 61st flor was to die for. Very expensive for Bangkok but very resonable for a blow out.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Use taxis, make suer their meter is on and do not get tuk tuks home.

beautiful room, outstanding service,
wonderful welcome, great views from our room and some lovely touches
9.7
from the moment we arrived, you wouldn't know that bangkok was on an hour by hour flood update. we were welcomed with fresh jasmine flowers, checked in to our room on the 41st floor and wow - what a view. when a room comes with a view like that, great bed, separate living area, cotton kimonos, fluffy robes, a massive shower and deep bath, fresh fruit, drinks and a 'daily fragrance' on an oil burner and accompanying insense sticks, there's pretty much enough reasons to return. add on wonderful welcoming service and it's for certain - we'll be back.
Travel tip:
Head up to the top floor for a drink at sundown.

Nightlife Tip:
You may choice one of these famous restaurents for dinner and then enjoy leisure drink on the top floor. But remember not to wear sandal or short paints or you won't be able to entry even you have money!

Great place for a city getaway
Buffet breakfast, aromatherapy in the room and hotel
8.7
The Banyan Tree Bangkok Had rooms that were suites, which was a nice change from the typical city hotel. I lived that they had fine touches like a different aromatherapy scent and incense in your room each day. The buffets breakfast at the Romsai each morning was a real treat - love that they had fresh soya milk, an egg station, sushi station and even sparkling wine for breakfast on the buffet.
Some parts of the bathroom might benefit from a bit of a touch-up, though. But all in all, still a fabulous place to stay in Bangkok.
Restaurant Tip:
Banyan Tree is just across the road from Soi Saladeang and Convent Road, where a few good restaurants and spas reside.
