luxurious, great staff, great gym and pool. and the best spa i've been to in bkk
No room service after 11pm
The banyan tree is my favourite hotel in bangkok.
They only have suites which are spacious and have the feel of quality and luxury. the staff are very friendly and helpful.
the gym and the pool with views over bangkok are great to excercise or relax after a day shopping with views over bangkok but away from the smog the and grime.
the restaurants and nice and whilst you can get better value elsewhere they are well worth the expense.
vertigo is not to be missed great food with stunning rooftop views over bangkok (make sure you miss the rain)
Hotel Feature Tip : if you get the night time hunger pangs make sure you get some snacks in as the room service finishes at 11pm

Overall quality and design. Personnel attitude
- Lack of smoking room (at least in Business Club area)
- Lack of Fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfest

I liked the staff and the guy at the door in his strange colonial uniform--black breeches, brown tunic and Japanese solar topee.
The breakfast setting is comfortable, backed by a tropical rock garden with fish pool.
There are no unwanted visitors. Chambermaids are discreet and invisible.
They have non-smoking floors.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Close to Patpong and its exotic nightlife. Good, too, if you are seeking a visa to Myanmar, as the Myanmar embassy is just down the road.

Breakfast is great as well dinner at the Vertigo on the 62nd floor.
Shopping Tip : Every Saturday/Sunday there is the Chatuchak Market which is worth-while to go. If taking Taxis take always the ones using the meter and tell them, otherwise the taxi-driver tries to bargain for the price.

We stayed at the 56th floor with a spectacular view over Bangkok!
The bar on the roof is nice but the service was a little bit slow!
My girlfriend said she felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. That sums it up pretty good!

Had the most fantastic honeymoon and the Banyan Tree was definitely a great choice for newlyweds.
Hotel Feature Tip : Definitely have dinner at Vertigo restaurant (61st Floor, open air restaurant) but must book well in advance. The views are well worth it. Also have a drink at the Moon Bar (61st floor also).

room design and view, facilities, rooftop bar.
Banyan Tree has a very high profile as a top Bangkok hotel and it was certainly luxurious. Staff are very trendy and professional, rooms are luxurious in the Thai style of dark wood. The rooftop bars offer amazing views and ambiance but are very expensive (in comparison to other non-hotel restaurants in the city) - maybe best for a drink only unless you're on an expense account. The location is ok but not great, it's off the busy Sathorn road in the business district but taxis are easily and quickly called to reception. Quite a walk to the BTS and not much to walk to in the vicinity.

One major tip for all of you. If you intend to do a lot of shopping, speak to people who have been to Bangkok and ask about shopping locations and then go online and study the map. Then pick the hotel closest to your shopping locations. Or you'll be going back and forth with the cab (not that it's expensive but you'll rather spend it on shopping than the cab). Basically, Banyan Tree Bangkok is an amazing hotel you would not want to miss when you travel to Bangkok.
