I liked the staff and the guy at the door in his strange colonial uniform--black breeches, brown tunic and Japanese solar topee.
The breakfast setting is comfortable, backed by a tropical rock garden with fish pool.
There are no unwanted visitors. Chambermaids are discreet and invisible.
They have non-smoking floors.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Close to Patpong and its exotic nightlife. Good, too, if you are seeking a visa to Myanmar, as the Myanmar embassy is just down the road.

Breakfast is great as well dinner at the Vertigo on the 62nd floor.
- Shopping Tip : Every Saturday/Sunday there is the Chatuchak Market which is worth-while to go. If taking Taxis take always the ones using the meter and tell them, otherwise the taxi-driver tries to bargain for the price.

We stayed at the 56th floor with a spectacular view over Bangkok!
The bar on the roof is nice but the service was a little bit slow!
My girlfriend said she felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. That sums it up pretty good!
Great place

Had the most fantastic honeymoon and the Banyan Tree was definitely a great choice for newlyweds.
- Hotel Feature Tip : Definitely have dinner at Vertigo restaurant (61st Floor, open air restaurant) but must book well in advance. The views are well worth it. Also have a drink at the Moon Bar (61st floor also).
A truly five-star experience

One major tip for all of you. If you intend to do a lot of shopping, speak to people who have been to Bangkok and ask about shopping locations and then go online and study the map. Then pick the hotel closest to your shopping locations. Or you'll be going back and forth with the cab (not that it's expensive but you'll rather spend it on shopping than the cab). Basically, Banyan Tree Bangkok is an amazing hotel you would not want to miss when you travel to Bangkok.
