Bel-Aire is a bit away from the busy street which makes it an ideal getaway. Wonderfully welcoming entrance amongst small shops on a side street referred to as Soi 5. It is a small, but clean, boutique hotel that has both charm and a bit of modernness. We felt at home upon arrival due to the attentions of the helpful lobby staff.
Other than a bit of slowness on one day with room make-up, we can't complain.
The Bel-aire was, at first, a bit hard to find, but once we turned onto Soi 5 off of Sukumvit (sp?) Road, we just had to keep going past a wonderful restaurant (Gulliver's) to find it tucked away on a street that was both quiet and a nice escape from the traffic. We found the hotel to be an oasis from the noise and traffic and enjoyed good sleep during our entire stay. The rooms are both comfortable and spacious. Bathrooms very clean and modern. The hallways and lifts very clean and nicely decorated. Be sure to read carefully the difference between Superior and Superior Plus - internet is not included in the former, but is included in the latter. Breakfast (and the lobby restaurant in general) was very good. Somewhat limited in choices, but all the western fare was present and the helpful staff made it all worthwhile including an egg man that delivers to your table rather than having you wait in line.
This hotel has a lot to offer. It's not 5 star, but as boutique hotels go, this is one of the best I've enjoyed. Good location for just about anything you want to do in Bangkok. Overall, the best part is the staff who are truly focused on making your stay a good one.
BTW - 3 min. walk from here to Bumrungrad Hospital for all the medical tourists! Very easy and staff charted the path expertly.
Restaurant Tip : Gullivers (just down the street) - great food - both Thai and Western. Good beer. Very clean and enjoyable. Moderate price. Lots of other restaurants in walking distance.

Level of the service was first class and made the time in the hotel unforgettable.
when going to the swimming pools facilities for changing swimming suits were poor.
When we arrived to the hotel we were amazed how friendly workers was meeting us in the reception and on the door as well. Hotel rooms were clean and well air-conditioned. It was very easy to book a taxi or sightseen tour from the hotel. That made us feel that hotel staff had considered everything a person might want to have and experience when arriving to bangkok. It was also creat to notice that breakfast table changed every day so there was every day something new and delisious waiting for us. We were really happy the fact that when we checked out from the hotel, reception promised us a free room for a shower and holding for baggage because our flight left at midnight. We came to the hotel according our friends recommendations and are happy to recommed this hotel to anyone who wants a first class service or just nice relaxing stay in a friendly inveronment.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : easy to get to the skytrain and see sights only few stops away.

In general the hotel is clean and quiet. A good system of Security & hospitality
paying extra charge if your visitor is female. the nearby hotel provide better a accommodation with less price.
Checkout was quick. Nice interior decoration at the reception. Friendly people, however the option to change the deal is very stringent, and no money refund without penalty applied. House keeping crew is noisy early in the morning and repeatedly knocking doors. Sometime no one in the reception especially after midnight. Old TV and some channel are not clear. The elevator area at ground level needs a renovation.

Rooms are spacious and functional, staff is experienced and nice. Fairly priced. Five-ten minutes walk to BTS Skytrain Nana Station. Good breakfast (actually its good food all day/evening.)
Pool area is small and the sun is obscured by surrounding buildings most of the day. Soi 5 is a one way with only access from Sukhumvit (or for 50 Baht short cut through Grace Hotel on Soi 3 (Nana).
This is the third time we have stayed at the Bel-Aire Princess. It is far enough away from Sukhumvit to be quiet and isolated from the craziness. It is a great hotel for couples and families, with no frills but good comfortable accomodation. Seems to be most popular among Australian couples and families. There is a 7-11 store across Soi 5, and a Foodland grocery after a five minute walk.
Hotel Feature Tip : In room Ethernet connection for internet was active at no extra charge.

In-room thai massage available til late!
OK - I liked this hotel at first. Feels quite grand for the price. Rooms spacious enough. Swimming pool OK but nothing to write home about. Spa that will send a masseuse to your room. But on my first night I couldn't sleep because the aircon was very noisy, and dripped water. I filled a bucket through the night. I asked them the next morning to fix it, and they said they would. But later that day nobody was able to tell me if it had been fixed. Turned out the second night was better, but the episode was annoying. But to be fair, I could have just had bad luck - I'm sure this doesn't happen in every room.

quiet area close to shopping. helpfull staff. good internet connection.
quality/price a bite expensive.
TV channel can be improved (international the minimum available)
Easy acces for shopping and restaurants (specialy for arabic food). Personnaly I stay here due to the proximity of the hospital. Personnel so helpfull. Just one black point the bad reception at breakfast from one supervisor: never say hello, never look at you when asking question.

Friendly service.
Great location.
Nice rooms.
Lifts very slow, gym a bit old.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Its only a short walk from the BTS station and a nice hotel that make you forget you're in the middle of a bustling city.
Could not fault the service given to me during the stay. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
I would recommend that you upgrade to the Superior Plus rooms that give you access to the Club Tribeca Rooms. In this room you get free internet, buffet breakfast and happy hour every night between 5 and 7pm (happy hour includes free beer, wine and snacks. A nice touch before you head out for dinner.
Although I didn't go for a swim during my stay, the pool area is great too, with lots of sun lounges for sunbaking.
Overall a great place to stay in Bangkok!!
Nightlife Tip : Try Gullivers Tavern, just a few doors down.

Great quality feel to rooms.
Pool can get a little busy.
I stayed at the Bel Aire every time Im in bangkok, its an oasis in the middle of this part of town.
The staff are welcoming, efficient and have great command of english.
The quality of the facilities are first rate, however the pool can get crowded at times which is a shame.
The only thing i wish they could change is the pricing, its not the bargain it used to be.
Hotel Feature Tip : Don't bother with any of the expensive car services for the airport, use a taxi meter. It should cost less than 200 baht, plus the highway tolls.

pool can be busy.
not as cheap as it used to be.
the bel aire princess continues to be my default hotel whilst in Bangkok. Its location is first rate, in the middle of sukhumvit with all its entertainment, bars, restaurants and shops, as well as access to the skytrain and highway.
staff are always welcoming with a good standard of English spoken by everyone which helps.
my only gripe is the pool, which can become very busy despite being in the shade for most of the day (sun between 12 and 3 only).
Hotel Feature Tip : don't bother with expensive car services for the airport. a taxi meter should cost less than 200bht plus the toll for the highway.

clean,modern,welcoming and stylish.
could be considered just a little too expensive and the pool can become crowded.
I have stayed at the Bel Aire a number of time now and treat it as my default hotel for Bankok. Its always stylish and welcoming, as well as delivering high standards of service and good communication (english well understood). If you opt for the more expensive rooms or lucky enough to be upgraded, make use of the Tribeca lounge, free drinks at happy hour!!!! very good. I will continue to stay here as even if a little pricey, it delivers proper satisfaction.
Hotel Feature Tip : Tribeca lounge upgrade well worth it, complete with huge room.
