Cheerful modern design and decor, helpful staff (especially good on public bus information), free WiFi plus two free public computers lobby level, free tuk-tuk whisks you to Pratunam market or Petchaburi road Lack of swimming pool even though is space on rooftop; distance to Skytrain (5-minute walk from where tuk-tuk will drop you) I particularly enjoy the elegant, cheerful, modern design and decor of Best Western Mayfair Suites, and the discretely helpful staff (especially good on public bus information). The free WiFi needs beefing up by placing modems on each floor (perhaps someone else can get through to the staff regarding this, I failed over a 2 month period). You may need bring your notebook computer to the lobby where there are also 2 free desktop computers. 7-Eleven stores are easily reached in the free tuk-tuk. From where Soi 11 meets Petchaburi Road it's only about 5-7 minutes walk to BTS Skytrain which, thankfully, has up-escalator you'll really appreciate on hot-hot days. If you've any issues the Front Desk Manager who has good English-language skills will usually sort them swiftly with genuine good-humor, an exceptional man.
Restaurant Tip : Young chef delights in his work and is flexible, just let them know how you like your food. If you want it a little spicy, more spicy, not spicy, all you need to is say.

This hotel is relatively new and modern! Service is great, staff are friendly and attentive. Small hotel, thus, has a quiet and peaceful environment Although tuk tuk is provided free of charge, there is only 1 so we got to wait for our turn to leave the hotel.. Most of the time we rather talk a ten mins walk to the main road instead of waiting. Shower is no good, either too hot or too cold. Gotta adjust throughout the bath. Pretty far to walk to the BTS. Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and was pretty satisfied for the place we paid. Arrived at 10am and the room is already available with a complementary upgrade as well. Bell boy saw us looking at the maps provided and came forward to recommend the more detailed one and help to circle our hotel and place of interest without us asking for it. Great initiative! Went back quite late one night, and realised that we were hungry. Called for room service but it was not available. The receptionist took the initiative to get the free tuk tuk to send us to the 24hrs Burger King at the main road. And the tuk tuk waited for us to order and send us back to the hotel. Service is really really good. Room is new and clean. Just tat the shower did not work properly. The warm water will turn cold and u have to adjust it all over again. Overall, still happy with this hotel.
Travel tip : DO NOT TRy the massage palour near the hotel located along Soi 15. They are terrible, 50 Baht more expensive then outside and they are not well trained! Gave me muscle aches and bruises after the massage!

I have stayed at several hotels in bangkok at this price range but western mayfair represents the most excellent value of them all. The hotel is very new and clean. The staff speaks the best english of all the similarly priced hotels i have stayed. The Tom yam Goong at a modest price of 90 baht was good for me. Although the location was a little out of the way, it's still near to baiyoke sky. The location does not pose a problem as I'm a return traveller to bangkok. It took me around 10 mins to walk from the main road to the hotel.
Restaurant Tip : There's a 24 hours Burger king outlet at the end of Soi 16. The Tuk tuk driver will be glad to send you there even at late hours.
