sewer gas smell made room unpleasant

Awful, The room was beautiful but smelled awful. I told the staff but they could not fix it. I am certain that it was a matter of re-seating something in the floor drain as that was where the smell was coming from, but they couldn't do it and acted as though it was my problem to deal with.

The hotel is very new, clean and service generally is good.
However (!!!!!)
When I checkout and was about to take a taxi to the airport the bellman approached me and whispered that he got me a great deal for an airport taxi, 500bht including highway toll. I am well traveled in Bangkok and know that this was a scheme so I asked for the taxi to turn on the meter. The final price was 200bht including toll way. Had a short chat with the driver and he confirmed that if I paid the requested 500bht the bellman would have gotten 100bht share.
Be aware of this in that hotel!!!!
