sewer gas smell made room unpleasant

Awful, The room was beautiful but smelled awful. I told the staff but they could not fix it. I am certain that it was a matter of re-seating something in the floor drain as that was where the smell was coming from, but they couldn't do it and acted as though it was my problem to deal with.

The hotel is very new, clean and service generally is good.
However (!!!!!)
When I checkout and was about to take a taxi to the airport the bellman approached me and whispered that he got me a great deal for an airport taxi, 500bht including highway toll. I am well traveled in Bangkok and know that this was a scheme so I asked for the taxi to turn on the meter. The final price was 200bht including toll way. Had a short chat with the driver and he confirmed that if I paid the requested 500bht the bellman would have gotten 100bht share.
Be aware of this in that hotel!!!!

Lovely hotel, location a little awkward

This hotel provided great value for money. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. Bathroom was smallish but perfectly adequate (excellent shower). The breakfast was only just adequate. It seemed to be oriented toward the large number of Muslim guests who were at the hotel (probably visiting Bumrungrad hospital next door). Lots of savoury dishes I hadn't encountered before and very little fruit/cereal/yoghurt. I did get a good omelette, though. The main drawback of this hotel, however, is its location. It is quite a schlepp to Sukhumvit/the Sky Train altho the hotel Tuk Tuk will take you. Beware, tho, if you return by taxi, the taxi cannot drive down Sukhumvit into Soi 1, instead it has to make a detour around the back which can take a long time if the traffic is bad. In terms of price and comfort, though, it is a great hotel. Roof top pool is small but appealing.

Nice and convenient
Location is both the good news and the bad news for this hotel. Good because its next door to the Bumrungrad Hospital (where we were patients) and bad because the neighbourhood is terrible.

Excellent, friendly staff, convenient walking distance to hospital where we were patients. The room was quite nice, spacious and well equipped. For what we wanted, it was perfect.
