Buddy Lodge is a boutique hotel popular with travelers frequenting Bangkok's famous Khao San backpacker neighborhood, where scenes in the movie The Beach were set. The area has a thriving nightlife scene and is also nearby tourist attractions like the Chao Phraya River, Emerald Buddha Temple and Grand Palace. The hotel features traditional Thai decor and offers a choice of economical standard or deluxe single rooms, doubles and triples. The Poolside Bar and the pool itself are great places to unwind while the Japanese restaurant Miyabi is a must-try for all guests.

From boutique chic to shabby and cheap?

Location - for those that like life in your front garden (as opposed to doorstep) the hotel lobby entrance is slightly set-back from Khaosan Road. Swimming Pool -although now in need of some TLC still a lovely friendly setting.

In-house rock venue generally provides a sleep challenge until approx 1.10am. Decor is well past its best, although the prices still reflect its early "glory days". Irish themed restaurant/bar and menu.

Although still a favourite, this hotel is far removed from the genuinely chic hotel that it used to be. Almost every element beneath the boutique facade (besides the re-vamped lobby) is now desperately in need of a facelift. The staff remain friendly and efficient, the 5th floor outside swimming pool remains a pleasure but the restaurant and rooms lost their appeal along with their paint.

Nightlife Tip : Sheesha Bar 10 mins walk away on Samsen opposite Soi 2, next to a blues bar to be recommended and far cheaper than equivalent in immediate vicinty.

khoasan road open 24 hours a day

tv needs more channels a lighting needs updating

the hotel was in a good location for bars a shopping a the staff were polite but the rooms need modernising the tv needs to have more channels the shower was not very good kept losing power a the breakfast needs to be better a give more choice a the food needs to be kept warm

Quite and convenient.

Room facilities are old.

If you arrive at the Burger King side of the road, you can see a big sign board, "Buddy Group", just go inside to find Buddy Lodge. This place is very quite!

Hotel Feature Tip : There is a door to the next room. It is possible to have a joint room.
