Great Room but Could have bundled Breakfast

generally had a fuss free stay.
what i liked was that it's really a proper 5 star situatated a bit off the central bangkok but in chatuchak (i happen to work within a 7~10 minute walk from the hotel.
didn't get to try any room service but will definately do so when i return again for business.
Shopping Tip:
Really near the ChatuChak Weekend Market (for tourists, book in the weekend to enjoy)
If you are taking a cab back to hotel, make sure you tell them the following key words:
Most cabbies do not know the hotel by it's currentthis well as it's a changed name / management recently (maybe 2 years?)-> Quote "Hotel Sofitel Ladprao - Central Plaza"
Especially at night, remember to insist on "Taximeter". Any travel within 10 KM radius of where you want to go should not cost more than 130Bhat. So, check maps and distances. They normally quote double or even triple that. If they don't want, just walk out to the street and flag down and make sure that they acknowledge the location you need to go to and turn the meter on.

Good location and shopping

Like : Location is good. Beside is Central Shopping Mall and can walkthrough from Hotel. Closed to the weekend market Chatuchat. New decoration for hotel room. Free Wifi. Dinner buffet is reasonable price and tasty foods.
Dislike: very hard to find the car parking. My room air condition is not cool enough. Very weak mobile signal at 16th floor.

For work it's great, for fun it's equally good as it's proximity to main city isn't too far off and with the sky train, you do not get stuck in traffic ever again.

Wonderful Hotel with efficient services

Glad and happy staying there on 14th and extend another 2 nights after that . Check out on 17th October morning. Efficient Counter Check-in staffs. Big , Nice , Clean Room with Quiet enviroment. Conveniently situated and just a minutes walk away to Central Departmental Store via the Overhead Bridge on the Mezzaline floor.

Though no longer flagged as Sofitel, Centara can still maintain its service level. Best is location. You can travel to anywhere of Bangkok from the hotel. The rooftop bar is highly recommended. Deluxe room has been refurbished. Premium Deluxe is worth a try. Will stay here again.

The internet is poor in rooms and thro wi lan.
If you have IPAD or mobile fone then forget internet in rooms.
Staff are nice and within normall limit
Bathroom has shower only
No washing facility for wc.
Otherwise, everything else is fine

this has been our second stay in one month. the hotel offers a good price and is suited to business travelers or visitors who would like to stay close to the biggest market in thailand, jatuchak week-end market. the hotel is not new and feels a bit outdated here and there, however the rooms are nice and comfy with a good size flat screen tv. the food is on the expensive side but heavenly good. as we visit often the week-end market, the centara is perfectly well situated for us. will go there again for sure.
