Large hotel next to Bangkok's most luxurious shopping mall; many additional services when booking World Club Executive (free lunch and afternoon snacks; free happy hour). Nice swimming pool with view over Bangkok.

l spent three nights here and I enjoyed the five star accomodation service and 180-degree thai view. Its fantastic. I missed there a lot and I am sure I will be back end of 2011.

Good location but rooms were not very clean
Location is smack in the middle of town and you can walk to all the important shopping places

Room was average at best, alot dirtier than when I stayed 2 years ago, and although we had 3 persons staying in the room, they did not top up the shampoo and bath gels sufficiently. Luckily we brought our own. Details like additional pillows, toilet paper, complimentary bottles of water (bearing in mind we had additional person in the room) would be good as well but we had to call for room service every single time.
Also, the room was not clean enough for a 5 star hotel and is pretty dusty. Overall, it was a lacklustre performance from this '5 star' hotel. Although its location makes up for its insufficiency.

this is my fifth stay in centara grand at central world hotel. i travel to bangkok almost twice yearly. to pray the four face budha. first stay was the hotel just opened. having promotion, rate very attractive. but compare now, price is higher and without breakfast! but we still prefer this hotel. also stayed intercontennial hotel before, but compare, the cleaning at centara is better. therefore, this hotel, can stay, with no complaints!
Restaurant Tip:
Can try the seafood restuarant at central world, level 3, cannot remember the name, but opposite a bag cleaning shop. The crab and deep fry fish very nice. Price also very cheap.

the hotel is set in a great location for shopping and eating area. not the best choice if there is a political situation as they close the roads around the hotel and many protesters which made it difficult to get out from hotel area. the restaurants were good especially on the 55th and 56th floors. the views were great and food wa not too bad.
one thing that let the hotel down was the staff service.
Shopping Tip:
A lot of shoppings around there as it is in the middle of town.

lovely hotel with good service and great location

this hotel was in a great location with fantastic facilities available to people staying there. the staff were always friendly and willing to help us with a smile. i can recommend this hotel to anybody wanting to stay in the sukhumvit area of bangkok.
Shopping Tip:
Shopping Tip : Beware of the tuk tuk drivers around Bangkok. They will take you where you want to go cheaply but will stop off at jewelery stores and tailors along the way and expect you to buy things.

Great hotel! Highly recommend this hotel.

very nice hotel, staff were friendly without being overly so. the rooms were well appointed and clean with great views. comfortable beds and great bathrooms.
had drinks on the rooftop bar which was spectacular. if you can upgrade so you can stay on the executive floors. its well worth it, as you can access the executive lounge 24 hours, and if you miss breakfast they serve a light lunch, or afternoon tea, and from 5-7pm they serve complimentry cocktails, so very much worth the extra.
i have had 2 sets of friends who have stayed there in the past and i thought i would stay there as they enjoyed their experience there and i did too.
its above central world shopping centre and which is connected to isetan shopping centre, so you cant go wrong.
i used the fitness centre which was very good, and the pool daily. another well kept feature of this hotel.
will stay there again for sure! thanks

A great hotel which i will return

the staff from the reception counter to housekeeping to concierge always serve with great patience and smiles all round. the location of the hotel is excellent, convenient access by both lrt and cab. the rooms are excellent, nice comfy bed, fast internet connection, nice bathroom and clean towels. of all the hotels i have stayed in bangkok, this is the one i will return to for sure!
