This is a brand new Thai-owned and managed hotel in a very old location, right in the center of Siam Square. It's extremely convenient and fun to stay there, and if you want to get around, the BTS stops are within 15 walk from your room.
They really tried very hard to impress the guests with architecture features and Asian-flavored colors and decorations. Overall very stunning and well-done.
While spending time inside the hotel would be convenient and comfortable, we didn't do much of that because spa and restaurants are quite expensive compared to the offerings with downstairs in CentralWorld. Also, I wasn't impressed with the breakfast at all, so I don't want to spend $$$ to try their other restaurants.
The lack of attention to detail is definitely the number one issue with this hotel - but then again this is a problem at most Asian hotels. There are obvious cracks on walls, paint chips, water stain, etc. all over the place; water temp and pressure fluctuate sometimes, toilet didn't flush well, etc. Same issue with service - overall very good, but they did things like forgetting to bring extra towels that we requested.
Overall an excellent experience and unbeatable value; not exactly a Shangri-La, but I really think the Thai people should be proud of their achievement.
** GREAT location, almost unbeatable - super convenient for shopping, eating, taking public transportation.
** Beautiful breathtaking architecture with great view from rooms. Rooms also well-laid out and designed for comfort and spaciousness.
** Everything is brand new - very neat, clean and slick; a good place to smell fresh paint.
** Staff courteous and efficient.
** Incredible value given the price we paid; absolutely worth the money and a great value even for Thailand!
** Attention to details lacking - doesn't really qualify as a true five-star hotel; eg walls have cracks and water temperature and pressure unstable.
** Some services like laundry or spa are too pricey for the cost standard in Bangkok.
** Breakfast seriously lacking in Asian selections, and the western selections not that impressive either.
** Still some constructions going on - when we stayed there they close lobby for a couple days.
** Taxi drivers need help to find the entrance to the hotel - yes it's THAT new!
- Hotel Feature Tip : The staff is very accommodating - just need to ask. For example, they were more than happy to allow me to do early check-in at 10am.
wow!

Overall fantastic experience - staff were polite and had no problem conversing in English. They had given us the highest room for the given price we paid so that we can enjoyed the wonderful night view of Bangkok - very accomodating.
The room is clean, modern and big enough that you don't feel pressured during your stay. Bathroom deco is my favourite.
The food at breakfast was something I look forward to every morning with a wide selection of Thai, Chinese, Western plus even a hint of Japanese available.
Location wise, the hotel was situated at a very convenient place right behind the Central World shopping centre which includes a large department store, gourmet supermarket and many branded fashion outlets.
Overall we were very happy about the hotel. No complaints.
Clean, modern deco with big comfortable shower room
No complaints!

the location of the hotel is fantastic, close to all the major shopping centre but the service at the breakfast room is very average and the food on the 55th floor was terrible for what you pay for and the knowledge of food was also terrible for the standard of the restaurant.
great facilities, close to all major shopping centre
food and knowledge of food is terrible
- Shopping Tip : great location for shopping and food

Centara Grand is a lovely Hotel. It is lavishly appointed and truly deserves it's International 5 Star rating. The gym is awesome and it has a permanent trainer on hand. In fact there are pleanty of staff everywhere. Maybe too many. The 55th floor is unbelievable. An outdoor restaurant and bar looking over Bangkok (from that high even Bangkok looks good). The ever changing colours of the bar lights lend themselves to relaxation and mood stimulation. I do love the Thai people. The breakfast is as good as I've had anywhere. The room is really nice too. Great water pressure in the shower and the bath fills up quickly. The pool is gorgeous, although the weather was pretty ordinary as per usual Bangkok standards. The only issue I had with the Hotel was that there were some areas where it seemed they had taken shortcuts. The fridge door was not properly attached to the cupboard nails. Water seemed to leak out of the shower onto the bathroom floor. The light in the cupboard was not connetced to the auto-sensor properly. The TV reception was inconsistent. Just a few little things. However, not to take away from the experience. Located above a great shopping complex the experience was A-Grade. Had a ball and would stay there again.
facilities, modern prestige, great room service, breakfast A1, good location for shopping, gym, pool, bars etc. etc.
sloppy finishing on some of the walls and cupboards...like it was hurrried together to ensure it made the opening
- Shopping Tip : Great shopping
Well worth the price

This hotel opened 6 months ago. So, every thing is brand new. The bathroom is very roomy and sparkle. The hotel is located behind the department store Isotan, next to Central World. Shopping heaven, all kinds of food- -up scale, medium price, or street vendor style. I will definitely use this hotel the next time I pass through Bangkok.
Good location, excellent breakfast,friendly service.
Lack of greenery, clothes iron not provided.
- Restaurant Tip : Fresh coconut stall in front of Isotan department store
nice!

Very nice hotel located in the center of shopping district. Arriving to the skylobby at the 23 floor was breathtaking. Room was very nice with a large bathtube, was lucky to get a room at 41 floor with view against Sukhumwit skyline. Breakfast buffet is highly recommended.
Hotel being located on high floors, Breakfast buffet
Small glitches in room
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you are a early bird take the 15 minutes walk to Lumpini Park just before sunrise.
