Worst staff. I wouldn't recommend this to anybody.
Just the location otherwise everything else sucks
3.7
It was the worst ever. The staff are so inconsiderate and no concept if service orientation.

good budget a/c room, comfy beds, not too far from
nice helpful staff, comfy bed, good price

stayed here for one night as had a very early train to catch, the room was fine, the air con worked well, the beds were comfy and the staff were helpful. They do an Indian buffet each day which sounded great value but ends at 2pm and we arrived after this. A bit tricky to find but they do have "instructions for your driver" on their website, I printed this out and my driver found it ok.

Awesome Staff and Service
8.7
Need to upgrade themselve in terms of building maintainence, structure, interior and exterior. Location wise is already perfect though. Also if the re-live their close-down restaurant, i think they will receive more customer and income.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Great service and very friendly staff though they cant speak english.

You get what you pay for - the room-rate is very cheap, so don't expect too much.
The hotel is run-down: lift out of order, the fridge in my room didn't work. No toilet-paper, the airconfilter (I got an aircon-room because the fan rooms were fully booked) very dirty. The room wasn't clean (although the bathroom was O.K.).
TV had only 3 Indian-Channels, no way to search for more programs.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We arrived to the hotel and were greeted with a semi decent room, after a 18 hour flight the least thing you want is to be having someone knocking on your door and being asked to change room at 2am when fast asleep. or you have to pay an extra fee.
So changed rooms to avoid surcharge and was horrible. No ac bed dirty covers, toilet leaking, smell of God knows what!
If you have no money/ low budget. Consider sleeping under a bridge

If you picture the most basic hotel you have ever stayed in and then multiply it by 100 then you will get close to the Centaur Inn Hotel.
We booked this as we were meeting our friends who were staying on their honeymoon locally otherwise we would have stayed near Koa San Road.
This hotel is run by Indians and everyone other than us staying there were Indian. We have been to India and this was just like staying there. Extremely basic, rundown but the rooms were relatively clean if you didn't inspect them too much! By extremely basic I give you hte example that we didn't have curtains we had newspaper stuck to the windows!
some curtains or another form of window covering we did expect, not newspaper! Also not all the staff could speak English so couldn't get any local information.
The wifi is practically non existant. The signal is so poor it really is hit and miss and you have to go to the 4th floor as that is where the box is located to have any chance of getting a signal. there isn't an internet cafe and as I said the wifi is extremely poor at best and most of the time you can't get on at all.
However saying all of that, the hotel was quiet as it is in the business area of Bangrak. There is very little to do here other than visit the Lebua Towers where the Hangover 2 was filmed (very disappointing and very expensive to have a drink)and also taxi wise was easy from the airport only taking about 20-30 mins.Personally I wouldn't stay here I would go back to Kao San Road area as there is more to do there and you can find so many cheap places that are cleaner with friendly english speaking staff.
Hotel Feature Tip:
don't go there!

looks like they're doing some renovating so this place should be improved by the time many read this. i've been in bangkok for awhile and haven't found any place that matches this place for price and location. you can find cheaper but not within walking distance of so much stuff. mrt, bst, hua lamphong lumphini park, the boxing stadium, grocery stores and robinsons. also, lots of indian restaurants and pakistani and afghan restaurants. plus not far from bangkoks china town. awesome place. one thing though. make sure whoever gets you here is famaliar with the area or make sure you have their number. its literally down an alleyway not immediately apparent from the street. not easy to find. my cab gave up and i found it on my own. decent people running the place. potable water available.
Hotel Feature Tip:
get their number before coming. thry're kinda hard to find because it's in an alley.
