Location, good breakfast

Customer service, housekeeping

We had a fantastic 4 night stay in Centre point Silom. For a short break in Bangkok we would highly recommend this hotel. It is within short walking distance of both the BTS skytrain and the riverboat taxi service, from which you can access virtually all areas of interest within the city. The rooms are spacious and clean; and their appartment facilities give you the option of eating in - although with cheap delicious food right on the doorstep it's hardly necessary! Breakfast is excellent - one of the best we've had at the several hotels we've stayed in throughout Thailand. The pool and leisure facilities are also very good. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel, especially for the price. The only slight downside was low customer service standards - we were not given any information e.g. breakfast times/location, and the houskeeping staff are slightly 'overeager' to get in to clean the room and ignored our do not disturb sign.

I love the bath tub

There aren't any

I stay here every time I come to Bangkok. Do I get 500 points every time I stay there. Isn't the fact that I keep going back enough. Give yourself a little luxury while you are in Bangkok. Wash your clothes in your own washer/dryer. Rest up for a few more weeks of sleeping on floors in temples.

Travel tip : Take the river boat to the Palace

Good value, beautiful room, washing machine, lovely bath.

A little bit off the beaten track, but only a 2 quid taxi from the action!

This was a great hotel, really clean and well equipped. The staff were so helpful, and it was a great room. The hotel is a short taxi ride from some great bars, and is only a short walk fromthe river taxi. The mandarin oriental and louis vuitton are only a short walk away, so it's not a bad area!

Very clean. Large room. Great views. Value for money. all staff very helpful.

Only thing I could comment on was that there wasn't any tea or coffee in the room, although you could get a cup at reception and take to room so not a problem!

Fantastic hotel for the cost. We stayed in a studio which was very large and had everything you need. Very clean, great views over the river and new and location is great too - close to the river, sky train stop and plenty of shops and bars. Breaskfast was included in price and full buffet that catered for all tastes. When we come back to Bangkok we will definately stay there again!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Negotiate at the Central pier for a long boat trip along the river and canals. We got it half the price advertised on the trips you can prebook.

Very, very clean rooms. They sweep, mop, and dust the entire room everyday. The rooms are very large and have everything an apartment would have. Attentive security and front desk. Free internet.

The restaurant, both for breakfast and for dinner, served mediocre at best food. Also, there is some room to room to room noise from the hallway through the nooked connecting rooms. The immediate area around the hotel is a bit chaotic and hectic. Small chance of getting hit by a car due to lack of a sidewalk.

This was a surprisingly pleasant stay at a hotel I *thought* was a 3 star hotel. In fact, it is an executive residence type of hotel. There is everything included in each room that you could need for a week or even a month. Pots, pans, silverwear, plates, laundry detergent. All there. I must emphasize how clean the room was. I've stayed in many hotels, and often have stayed to see the cleaning, and this is one of the most thorough jobs I have witnessed. Bathrooms were immaculate and well lit. The pool was on the roof and open until 10 PM, but was slightly on the cold side. I would say the pool was nice, but not amazing. The restaurant was the one aspect of the hotel that could use some improvement. The breakfast buffet was acceptable, but nothing special, and the dinner was actually quite bad. Even the Thai food was bad. One aspect I really appreciated was the fast, free wireless internet. Would definitely stay here again, but maybe not in the specific Silom location due to the area not being as clean or nice as other parts of Bangkok. Must also emphasize how good the service was from the doormen, bellboy, and the security guards. Front desk was average, but non-intrusive.

Shopping Tip : There is a massage place built into the Robinsons mall connected to the hotel. Look for it on the 3rd floor, 300 baht per 1 1/2 hour thai massage, open until 10 PM.

Clean spacious and stylish room with good facility, and convenient location (near BTS and express boat station). Breakfast is sufficient. Good security and friendly and polite staff. We got upgrated without asking.

Not many taxis know the place, so you need to explain the place quoting Shangri-la.

It was the first time to visit Bangkok, and I spent a lot of time on the Internet searching for the right hotel for us and staying in Centre Point was the probably the best choice I made for this trip!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the express boat for the Grand Palace and Wat Poh. Skybar at nearby hotel (Lebua at State Tower) is stylish and wonderful. If you are looking for ladyboy show, go Calypso at Asia Hotel, which is accessible by BTS. Good show that is sexy and fun but not dirty.

Location, newness, cleanliness, staff, RESTAURANT.

Didn't have good coffee.

This hotel was one of the nicest places (for the money) that I have stayed in a while! Each room is a little apt complete with washer/dryer. They are decorated very tastefully. The restaurant was a real surprise! The food was fabulous. I tried many items on the menu & all were superb AND I'm a food snob!!

Restaurant Tip : Try the restaurant in the hotel. Even though it's empty most of the time, the food is very good!!!

Great price, the facilities far surpassed my expectations - beautiful pool, large rooms, kitchen, bathroom with soaking tub as well as a walk in shower. Great breakfasts with a large variety of foods. And at a great location minutes to the river and the sky train. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a department store with a full store in the basement.

The hotel is conveniently located near sky train and there is a department store and supermarket attached to the hotel. The hotel is well maintained and the service is very good.

The shower has lack of temperature control mix and sometimes hot water is uneven. The elevator can get very hot and uncomfortable.

We have been in Bangkok many times and stayed at different hotels and think that this hotel is very good value for money. There is a big supermarket in the same building as the hotel. The closeness to the BTS and River Express makes transportation in Bangkok easy. We will stay in this hotel next time we come to Bangkok.

clean decent sized rooms with excellent facilties.

location is a bit of a downer but the MRT is only 5 minutes away on foot

We spent 2 days here after a trip to Koh Samui and we decided to stay by the riverside in order to take advantage of the boat trips. This hotel/apartment was excellent value for money and the staff could not have been any more helpful. breakfast was served in an large dining room and was very good. The pool was very large. The free wi-fi in the room was a bonus. I would definately stay here again

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : 5 minutes walk to the central pier which is the main starting point for a lot of the boats up the river

The location is great. Access to the skytrain, Mcdonald's delivers, the river is right there, great breakfast, and staff that speaks excellent English. Wait until you see the swimming pool!

The units's clothes washers are difficult to use. So just call the staff and they will make the machine work.

We've been staying at Center Pointe Silom since 2002. Now we reserve through Agoda and it's cheaper than any rate we can get as repeat customers. We love the staff. We love the location. (your next door neighbor is the Shangrala Hotel) For the price of a Motel 6 in America you get saluted by security when you enter, all the ammities of a first class hotel, and a kitchen and washer/dryer to boot. The location is great for touring. It's close to the sky train and river boats. Just take the river taxi to the Grand Palace, Wat Po and many of the major tourist areas.

Hotel Feature Tip : I love the foot massage at the Bosotel on Soi Shangrila nearby. The spa upstairs is inexpensive and not scarey if it's your first Thai massage experience. Oh heck, for a little more money, call the front desk downstairs and order up a massage at any hour day or night. They come right to your room and won't break the bank.

Centre Point Silom is close enough to be near places of interest yet far enough to be away from the city center. Being both near the river and a BTS station is a plus.

The immediate area outside is often crowded & conjested.

I enjoy the Centre Point hotel chain, and the Silom branch is a favorite due to its location near the river and skytrain. The staff is small but responsive and professional. There are several nice restaurants within walking distance or a short taxi or tuk tuk ride away. Although the area is too conjested for my tastes, if the cost stays at its current reasonable level I'll continue to enjoy the peace and quiet within the hotel.
