Hotel front staff fooled us

We got to hotel in the evening. Staff lead us to a twin bed room and we told them we have child and it is necessary to have a big bed which we made request upon order.
The staff finally bring us to another room after certain time of intercom phone call. We were happy with this new room with big bed and stopped complain. Finally found out that king bed was still two single beds place together and covered with a bed sheet to make it looks like a king bed.
We were too tired to continue negotiation and wonder if all king beds in hotel are actually twin bed put together.
The night was very upset, have to watch over the baby slept in the middle all the time to see if she got problem with the bed gap.
Second day morning, made phone call strongly request for a room with real kind bed and finally got a real one big bed.
Question is, if they do have real king bed, why they offered a room with 2 single beds pretended as king bed?

can take shuttle boat to pier terminal.

Vast rooms and a really good location

i've stayed in a number of top end bangkok hotels and i'd rate this as a favourite. exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. great facilities. enormous rooms (would have preferred not to be given twin beds). our city view was fabulous and the location affords you great access to the river and to some really thai elements of the city. the pool area is lovely and the pool itself is great. breakfast buffet is amazing!!
Nightlife Tip:
Take a short walk to Asiatique for shopping and dining

hotel was perfect for our 2 day stay on the way back home from raya island near phuket. the hotel is perfectly situated on the chaya phrao river. we loved the riverview room on the 27th floor affording spectacular views of the river and the city. the swimming pool is magnificent. the breakfast buffet is tasty and extremely filling. we'll stay here again in our trips thru bangkok.

Take the River Boat and make sure to see the National Grand Palace

we arrived late at night after a long flight and found this hotel as a bit of an oasis compared to some of the other locations for hotels in bangkok. the cooling breeze from the river and the comfortable surroundings were just right to help overcome jet lag. i do have to agree with other reviews about the quality of the internet, as it was extremely slow. the free ferry to the main wharf which then connects to the mrt
is a real bonus and can give you access to all areas of bangkok easily.

A wonderful experience

My wife and I stayed at the Chatrium Riverside for just one night to celebrate my 64th birthday. I am a photographer and wanted to take some photographs of Bangkok from a high perch. the reception was most helpful and we were shown several rooms. I chose a room on the 32nd floor which happened to be a Jr Suite and was happy to pay a small fee for the upgrade to this room. Great for photography and also very romantic with a panoramic view of night lights from the bedroom of the suite.
My wife received a small package from a friend and this was hand delivered to her at 9 pm by Mr. Siripong. The service here is incredible.
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and highly recommend the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Asiatique is a new trendy area of many small shops with an authentic old time atmosphere. The best way to get there (and beat the Bangkok heat) is to take the free Chatrium Shuttle Boat to Saphan Taksin Pier and then the free Asiatique Shuttle Boat. Asiatique opens at 5p, be sure to bring your camera and an appetite...
The same Chatrium Shuttle Boat is the best way to travel to Saphan Taksin Warf and then to most of Bangkoks Attractions by either River Boat or Sky Train.

Great hotel need more staff at front desk

The hotel is great - pool is huge great for swimming laps. It is rare to find a hotel that a pool of that size anywhere. The rooms are spacious. The only problem is that there are very few front desk staff to help guests so there is a lot of waiting around.

Nice to take the Chatrium boat from the hotel tocentral pier. Nice pool area but the food from the pool bar was expensive and bad. During our stay the lobby was renovated. And more renovation is needed on this hotel to deserve 5-star status.
