Good Value But A Bit Out of The Way
A nice comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Service wasn't great I'm afraid. We are a family of five with 3 adult children and had decided to book a 3 bed apartment. We arrived at 5.30pm after a very long flight but unfortunately were told the room wasn't ready and that we would have to wait. We were gibven our key at 6.30pm which if I am honest I didn't think was good enough as check in was from 2pm. We had asked for three single beds as well as a double but turned up to find that we had been allocated a an apartment with two double beds and and a single. We called reception and asked for the room to be changed and was told that the manager would call us. Unfortunately we didn't received a call and as we were out that night and busy the next day we just decided to roll with it. On the whole the hotel was nice, the breakfast good and the staff friendly. It was a little out of town though and whilst transportation is cheap it takes a while with the traffic in Bangkok.

Neighbourhood living
The hotel / apartment buildings were set in a nice upmarket neighbourhood with some small restaurants / 7-11s in the immediate vicinity. Rooms were decent size & well appointed with mostly young families staying. Taxi cost about 75-90THB ( 15 mins) to get across town to Sukhumvit Road depending on traffic. Overall a good experience but a little isolated for a single traveller.

Safe, Reliable, Comfortable
Whilst there are certainly cheaper places to stay in Bangkok, or more centrally located, Chatrium Residence proved to be a good choice during our recent visit to Thailand. Located a hundred metres or so down "Thanon Narathiwas, Soi Yi-Sip See" (Narathiwas Avenue, Alley 24), it was a relatively easy walk to the main road and onto the BRT (Bangkok Rapid Transit bus system) to connect with the BTS (Bangkok Transit System - "Skytrain"). Some of the rooms have mysterious "Balcony"s, which appear to have once been open, but have subsequently become enclosed with the construction of an adjoining tower, and the slightly convoluted way to access some rooms (a lift from the Lobby to Level 4, where the pool/courtyard is located, then a walk to your respective tower, and another lift to your final floor) is less than ideal. The staff were very helpful, and assisted us with luggage storage whilst we took a few days out of Bangkok to visit some of the islands. I would probably stay here again on future visits to Bangkok.
