I would probably stay here again but with the poor condition of the room and service, it was not worth what I paid for it!
Shopping Tip : This hotel is fairly close to shopping(MBK).

We were invited to a party they were hosting at the poolside on the evening we arrived...we thought it would be really cheesy but in fact it was great. They had lovely canapes and drinks and took us on a tour of Bangkok in their trolly.What a treat!!

We stayed 11 days at the beginning of our trip of 2 months in Thailand. The location is close to all major attractions and the environment is quiet. As every transportations are leaving and coming back from Bangkok, we make this hotel our "home base" for the rest of our journey in the country. People were warm and very helpful, massages at this hotel were great!

This is for us one of the best places to stay when we are in Bankok for a couple of days. The hotel is not new but reasonable maintained. It also offer a nice swimming pool and if you book a room with pool view, you can enjoy a nice view from a part of Bankok from you balcony.
The hotel also offers a TUK TUK service to Kao San road which is very usefull. Breakfast good be better, but that is the main problem of almost all the hotels in Thailand.

The DeMoc is a great step up from a guesthouse, with all the conveniences, but at a really affordable price. There are a lot of international people here, since it's near the UN, and a lot of Thai businesspeople, too. I come here several times a year, and am always warmly greeted by the doormen. Front desk staff can be a bit slow sometimes, but they've never let me down.
BTW, Agoda has the best prices of any of the sites I've seen, and I've never had a problem with any of my bookings.
Restaurant Tip : Ask at the desk about the riverside restaurant that is owned by the same people (they also own Buddy Lodge on Khao San Road)... a great place for a special dinner right on the river on a Samsen soi. A great Thai-style location, and they even have sushi. I'm sure they'll take you there with the tuk-tuk, but it's not a bad walk, eitehr.

All in all we really enjoyed our stay. For the cheap price they offer good value. I would recommend the hotel and stay again.
Shopping Tip : Very close to night market Kao San Rd, and all mayor attractions.

Its better than a lot of what you'll find around Khao San, but also a bit pricier. Good for backpackers with a few extra bucks or sharing a room.
