Good breakfast
Comfortable beds
Convienient location
Friendly staff
ferr shuttle to Khoa san road
Showers were not really hot
Hotel De moc is a good value for monney. Rooms are spacious with balconies. Buffet breakfast has a good range of foods. The free shuttle into Khao San road comes in handy. The pool was nice and we enjoyed our time at De moc. Only main problem was the shower, the water was more of a luke warm than hot. The hallway does look a bit run down but the rooms are nice. The decor is a bit dated but everything is clean. Most taxi drivers know this addrress and it is not far to the shopping district. Be aware there is a taxi driver that loiters around the hotel, he will tell you his meter is broken, but he will give you a really good price as long as you stop at a shop and buy something so he can get a fule voucher. This is a scam, he says you only need to look around the shop, but pretty much if you dont buy something he will make a big scene and charge you a high fare. I would definatley stay at this hotel again as it is great value for money.
Hotel Feature Tip : Excellent pad thai at the resturant, cheap too!

Old Internet room. Room had a slight smell of damp.
Nice hotel but just among many along the see front. We didn't think the area had much characture but if you like big expensive resorts then you might like it. The room we stayed in was spacious but had a slight smell of damp. There is a nice restaurant connected to the resort but it is quite pricey.

the best thing is really the reception staff also the cleaning ladies.
the entrance need more flowers totally decorating and special painting change all brown colours into more design or black and white use the balcony and close this to an glass house...paint the elevator and give an new carpet the light of the balcony have to switch out and on by the customers the swimming pool area need more painting and cleaning.
for staying one night is oke we did 6 nights.... take an other hotel is missing power in the hotel to much lazy ness... call it an arriving and departure hotelnot for honeymoon trip.
Travel tip : by taxi meter you pay between 55 and 100 baht to ho to sukhumvit , siam pargaon, and MBK centre...

This place is a little run down and one particular lift had the breakdown aboutonce a day.. One of these days had the bride to be stuck init for 20 mins but she was fine especially as all her 14 guests at this hotle couldn't stop laughing at her for the next 20 mins.. The breakfast was excellent the hotel staff very friendly but be aware of hair dye on the towels they will make you pay 500 baht for that towel as one of our fellow guests found out after she used 2... HAHA.... The manager of this hotel was great value he even ran us to the airport to meet our plane to Phuket early in the morning... Very close to Khao San Road and if you use the Tuk Tuk from the hotel (free) you can then get it back again free from the Buddy lodge in Khoa San Road (free)... I enjoyed my stay here but still make sure you have plenty of Mozzie spray on as sitting outside the bar in front you will get eaten alive...
Shopping Tip : Tuk Tuk to MBK mall fantastic shopping to be done here

Very good buffet (Thai, European). Nice quiet rooms.
To go to Khao San Road you need a Tuk Tuk. The hotel offers a free Tuk tuk to go (till 21.00). The entrance needs an upgrade. After 3 times everything was still the same.
This was our third time in De Moc. Nothing changed. Good quiet room with cable tv. And a great start of the day with a good breakfast. The only thing is that you need a Tuk Tuk to go to Khao San Road. The hotel offers a free Tuk tuk (till 21.00) to go. To come back from Khao San Road you need to pay a Tuk Tuk. Negotiate and offer max 30 Baht. Look him in the eye and tell him that you always pay this price. They know this is a good price. If they don't, go to the competition. We went many times and we never paid more than that. The driver can do it under 2 minutes!

The location was great, it was near the various sites of interest in old Bangkok so travel was easy. Plus it was not in the middle of the heat of old Bangkok's tourist areas so you could relax in peace and quite if you wanted to and simple catch a taxi or walk to a more upbeat part of town if you wanted to.
The rooms were also nicely furnished and the air con was good, along with a reliable hot water system with decent water pressure.
The restaurant menu was a bit limited and a tad pricey, but for a hotle aimed at Westerner's the food and pricing was ok I guess. Although the rooms were well furnished the toilet was a bit too Western for my liking. That is, it was only equipped with toilet paper, and did not include the standard Thai option of a small hose next to the toilet, which I find very useful when in Thailand.
Overall I found my stay at De Moc Hotel very enjoyable. The general layout of the Hotel was nice and it location was well situated. No disturbing night life sounds from nearby, such as loud club music or roudy drunks, given the hotel's location. I would recommend the hotel for families travelling with under-age children as the environment is quite family friendly. If you avoid room service or the restaurant the hotel accomodation was good value for money.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The hotel is only a short taxi ride, or a decent walk for the more active, from old Bangkok's many ancient buildings and sites of interest.

Free tuk tuk to Khao San Road, good buffet breakfast
This hotel should have been renovated and re-furnished ten years ago. No non-smoking rooms at all (!), which you can smell. The furniture was a joke: an armchair with one armrest missing, no chairs on the balcony, no bedside/reading lamp. No pictures or anything to cheer the room up. The staff speaks hardy any English. Very dirty swimming pool. This hotel does not deserve three stars.

Good breakfast, nice swimming pool, Free Wi-Fi Internet access, Great manager
A little bit old hotel, doesn't have extra water pipe to wash yourself in toilet/bath room, Low water pressure to take good shower in your room
We have checked-in very fast (they well organized) even they gave us a room with one twin bed and one extra bed with the price of two bed room for one week, we enjoyed a lot and really suggest this hotel for anyone that wanted to be stay in Bangkok city for less than 10 days

Close to Koh San Road
Good Breakfast
Close to Grand Palace
After returning to Bangkok after travelling around Thailand we were quite happy with our stay at this hotel. The free shuttle to the Grand Palace was a nice feature. Also the free breakfast was quite good. It was quote close to Koh San Road which made for good night shopping, while being far enough away that you did not feel like you were with the backpackers. The staff were nice and helpful. A great budget choice but still has tv, fridge, private bathrooms ect....
Travel tip : Take advantage of the free shuttle. The fact that you can smoke in the lobbies is nice if you are a smoker.

Very clean, nice rooms, big hotel, great restaurant, very helpful bell boys, great reception that helps you a lot. Awesome location. Wide variety breakfast buffet that is quite good.
I really recommend this hotel if you are staying in Bangkok. You are close to everything from its great location, and you get a lot for your money. I think its the best deal for a budget hotel and the breakfast was really great. The rooms are nice, and they give you 2 complimentary water bottles. There are balconies as well. There are always employees of the hotel available for you at anytime, and you can leave your luggage with them all day if you have a night flight for 40 baht.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : People on the streets will try to take you to factories because they get commission if you buy something. They seem to speak great english however they are usually trying to con you into going somewhere with a few unknown 'stops'. If you tell them you are on your way to a place such as a Temple, they will tell you that it is closed for the day or that you are not dressed appropriately which is NOT true. Just say no thanks to them. They will offer to take you to places that are open including a factory. We were in Bangkok for only 4 days and had at least 10 encounters like this.

Rooms, which have view on the road, are very noisy.
We have stayed in this hotel in January 2009 on 3 days. It is near Kaosan road (about 10 minutes walk) and no far from Big Palace.
There are some shops and cafes near hotel.
We had a room in corner of building and it was too noisy in night cause the sound of cars was too loud.
I think this hotel is normal budget accommodation.

clean rooms, wifi, transport to Khao san and Wat Phra Kaew, breakfast was ok, cheap spa.
water wasn't hot enough, the whole hotel really needs renovation (in my opinion, it didn't look romantic at all!), swimming pool was dirty, expensive restaurant.
We stayed in De Moc hotel six nights, we chose it because we found that much positive reviews. I thought I had reserved "better" with that price, the oldness really bothered me. Although everything was ok, nothing was great. I think I would have deserved better with that money. I have nothing bad to say about our stay, I just expected more. Location was ok, hotel offered free transport to Khao San, but when going to malls (Siam square, Sukhumvit), you have to take taxi or tuk-tuk. Swimming pool was dirty, we didn't feel like swimming in it.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : All the big sights are "near".

Well situated. Nice and friendly service. Good breakfast although not very different on a daily basis.
The tailor service is expensive and very bad.
The hotel is simple, but very nice and clean, the rooms are quiet. It is out of the touristic area, but just a 10-15 minute walk of Kaosan and all the touristic bars and restaurants. The service was friendly.

Low price.
Good location.
Free wi-fi.
Needs some details to paint.
Not so quiet. Old windows.
Good cleaned hotel. Quickly repaired if something gets broken (on second day of our stay we had problems with shower).
Very good location, near to the historical center of Bangkok. 5 mins by foot to Democracy monument, 10 mins to Kao San.
Hotel have its own territory and swimming pool.
Good breakfast, always have choices. Some thai food is adding to traditional continental menu.
Free Wi-fi but a bit slow.
Old name - Thai hotel - this name is more known by taxi drivers.
