quiet and clean

It's a quiet place but only 5 mins walking to Kaoshan raod. The room is clean with nice decor. The staffs are very helpful. Thought some of them don't speak English but with their kind heart they do their best to assist their quests.

great little loft apart
Location is great, the loft aparts are super clean, jacuzzi on rooft top, and nice friendly staff, great place to stay!

I had a great stay at the Dia,omd House and would totally recommend this hotel. The loft aparts are great and very clean, the hotel is quiet, beautiful and safe and very easy to get anywhere in town, the jacuzzi rooftop is an extra bonus!

Diamond House -Fantastic!!!!!
loved diamond house: location walkable to major sites, excellent thai flavored decor, staffed 24/7, very clean, excellent food.

diamond house was an excellent choice, and i'd recommend it whole heartedly. it had authentic thai decor & laid-back attitude, while still being scrupulously clean & offering excellent food (the green curry & tom yam soup are to die for). i paid practically nothing, but wouldn't have picked a fancy hotel over this. staying here certainly gives a traveller the feel of being in sync with the local culture, and still having a safe, delicious home-base to come back to end-of-day. the location is in walking distance to the grand palace & kao san rd. there's easy internet in the lobby (for a small fee). and the staff is friendly & available 24/7. i believe many rooms have bunk beds -- which are done with taste and style, not ymca minimalism. eco-friendly lights dim in evenings, and stylings very non-western. if you are looking for a pampered, american chain hotel, stay away. but if you want a cool, thai-flavored minimal but cozy pied-a-terre, diamond house is a perfect find.

First time in Bangkok so didn't know what to expect but me and my boyf were pleasantly suprised at Diamond House. The room although quite small had everything we needed - although the water was only luke warm for showering. The staff were friendly and the location is great just a couple of mins from Koahsan Rd. Would definately return to Diamond House.
Restaurant Tip:
You gotta try the local green thai curry it's amazing. Don't be scared to try the street food it's tasty and cheap and we have not once felt ill from dining off it!

Nice little hotel
Rooms were clean and it is in a great location. Cozy little atmosphere and near nice restaurants and bars.

The rooms were decorated quite tastefully, taking advantage of the VERY limited space. Breakfast was not that great but with all the great restaurants nearby, it shouldn't matter. Internet in the lobby is great. Staff are not the most helpful. Their favorite expressions were "I'm sorry!" and "I don't know.". But the positives outweighed the negatives and it was a pleasant stay.
Nightlife Tip:
A great little Blues Bar is right across the street. But be careful crossing, its actually quite tricky.

Good Value for Money

Stayed here for one night at the start of our travels and it served us perfectly for what we wanted to do in the short space of time we had. The location is good for the Khoa San Road area which is great for an evening meal or a daytime shopping trip in the market. The hotel was clean and modern looking and the staff were very helpful even booking our train to Chiang Mai for us. Use of the internet was also a very reasonable 30 baht. In some places we had to pay 100 even for 5 minutes. The breakfast (although not inlcuded) was also very nice. Would recommend it for anyone wanting to stay in this area.

overall this room was cute, but small. There was a slap of wood that acted as the bed side stand that jutted over part of the bed which meant that you were unable to use all of the bed and could have very easily bumped into it while sleeping. we did our washing here and they dyed all our clothes pink as well and giving me back somebody else's towel instead of mine.

Quick one night stay
Reception and desk ppl were very helpful, the hotel is in an area filled with mom and pop type places to eat, and a grocery store is very close

I arrived very late on a Sunday and had booked my first night in the city at the Diamond Lodge. The hotel itself wasn't too hard for my cabbie to find. We sort of just ran into the hotel. The staff was very helpful and spoke very good English. There was a lot of activity around the hotel late Sunday night, so I never felt unsafe.
The room itself was small, close courters from the bed, to the tv, to the frig area, to the bathroom but it was suitable for one or two ppl. I was on the first floor, away from the street, so I didnt have much of a view. But that was fine given that I was only staying one night.
The only downsides to the room was that it was on the first floor and close to the reception/dining area and very very dimly light. So unfortunately, I got woken up very early on Monday morning due to the staff setting up downstairs.
The roof area was very nice and seemed like a good place to relax on during the evenings.
Overall, a decent place to say for the price.
Travel tip:
Khao is just a 7-10 minute across the bridge and down the way. There is also a grocery store conveniently localed within walking distance.

We arrived late from the airport, tired and thirsty, a smile and hello would have been nice. Check in took forever and the desk staff were not very helpful with the basic questions we asked.
The room (though a little small)was fine and comfortable. The location to everything was great, Khosan Rd and the river in walking distance. I did use the internet twice there for about 5 mins ea time and was highly charged for it when leaving. Most other guesthouses in this price range allow free WiFi and I assumed this was the same here as there were no charges written anywhere.
Travel tip:
Don't get stung with expensive boat trips on the river. One way fares should only cost you 13bt per trip.
