The hotel isn't very special but it's located very nice. Near Kohsan Road, but not to close. The room was clean and sufficient. The staff was friendly and helpfull. I didn't use the restaurant.

Dark and uncomfortable rooms, but good location
Location was good for khao san road.
5.3
I didn't like the hotel because the rooms were quite scary and old and very dark. I am a solo female traveller and they gave me a room with a bunk bed. I was constantly worrying that someone was sleeping at the top bunk, I didn't feel comfortable in the room alone, so slept with the lights on.
The location was good, I wouldn't say that Khoa san road was next door, its probably a 10-15minutes walk. The area is really old so its better to stay in Siam or Silom the newer and modern areas.
the staff were lovely, helping me with my luggage up the stairs as there were no lifts and telling me where to go. Their knowledge of English was not so good.

Great location, fantastic service
The service was great, every person working in this hotel would smile and greet you at all times. They were also very willing to help with everything from directions to chargers!
8.3
the stay was short but great, the rooms were very clean and matched the photographs. the only gripe was the lack of a lock on the bathroom door and the semi transparent bathroom door. the staff was very helpful and the food was great.

Very cute little place in a nice location a few minutes away from Khao San Road. Great staff that look after you like family. Nice food in the café. Small rooms but enough space to open up your suitcase. No elevator until 3rd floor.
Restaurant Tip:
I recommend a visit to Ethos vegetarian restaurant, its at the bottom of Khao San Road, behind the Burger King and silver shops.

Good Hotel, Bad Room design!
Close to Kaosan Road and shopping areas
6.3
This is located next to a canal/bridge and is not difficult to find. When I was taken to the room, I was shocked to find that it was a room with bunk bed, although I asked for a standard room! Right in front of the door was a big ladder! The staff said I have to pay more to get a better room. The biggest problem was that the two beds were arranged perpendicular to each other and there was a huge ugly metal ladder and an iron pole in the middle of the room, blocking the access to the lower bed. Basically the ladder (which is permanently fixed) was in the centre of the small room blocking everything! They could have easily install the two beds in parallel and put the ladder on the foot of the beds saving lot of space. I had difficulty getting in and out of the bed or move around, because of the bad internal design.
Other odd and thoughtless design was the location of power points. They were positioned inside a small wooden box next to the bed. My plug-in battery charger or other devices could not be plugged in, without using an extension cord, simply because no enough space inside the box!
Other odd things included wooden soap holder, very heavy wrought iron sliding doors of the bath room, and position of the bathroom lights. One light was directly above the mirror, shining light on the mirror, instead of the user, making it impossible to see the image on the mirror!
Ah, as many others noticed, the lights are very dim in the room. The "wok" they used as a lamp cover needs many more holes or simply install another light.
I sneaked that there were many empty rooms of the same category, but I wonder why the hotel staff did not want to offer one of them!
I chose this hotel over other hotels of the same price range and area, mainly because of the Jacuzzi. But it was closed during my stay, although the board says it is open during day time.
Staff seems friendly and other things in the hotel seems to be ok. However they should seriously think of re-designing the rooms.

Super small rooms, but good location and service
Good food in the restaurant, close to Kao San Rd, friendly staff

diamond house is a easy choice for us, especially since we like to be near the songkran action! the rooms are small, so don't bother if you like to stay in! otherwise, the service is great and the price is reasonable. would stay again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Walk to the pier and get a day ticket. Good to connect from here to the BTS, as Diamond house is not really close...
