Nice hotel but not familiar with taxi drivers

Eastin Makkasan had decent facilities and because it is new, our stay was quite comfortable. The only problem we encountered is that taxi drivers seem to not be familiar with the hotel and so we experienced drivers refusing to take us because they do not know how to get to the hotel.

the hotel will charge you way for transport to/from airport. the actual cost for taxi is from 200-500 baht/way, depending how honest your driver is and which way he takes (highway will cost around 500). breakfast is satisfying with variety of food. there is a tour company in the hotel to help you book tours in and around bangkok. the suite we had was big with a huge bathroom. we'd stay here again, unless we find another place that's closer to the airport. there is no in-room wifi. if you want to use the internet, you'd have to go to the lobby, get a password (one-time use).
Nightlife Tip:
Taxi drivers in Bangkok are rude and always looking to take you for a ride. We learned that if there is traffic in the area you want to go to, these drivers will refuse to take you, with every possible excuse except telling you the truth that they don't want to go through traffic. Have the hotel call a metered taxi for you.

Great service, very clean hotel, friendly staff,

We immensly enjoyed our stay of one week. The location was good not too close not too far. The staff were very knowlegeable of the surrounding landscape and provided valuable inputs. The brakfast was delicious and had a wide range of choices for travellers from any part of the world. The facilities in the room were superb though I would have preferred a steam iron and an ironing board. The internet in the room was though fast the web box was difficult to handle. The room was clean and well equipped with the latest state of the art technics. One shortcoming was we were not given the promissed free upgrade to deluxe room when I made the booking which was surprising for a hotel of this standard not to honour.

Classy hotel

Room was clean, bed definitely comfy, amenities were new and classy. Even the TV was equipped with Bluetooth keyboard. Only downside of the room is the exclusion of a free wifi in the room although it is available at the hotel's lobby. Hotel is not located strategically as the town area and train station were a distance away. However, the eateries and rows of shops worth visiting along the way made up for the location. The hotel seems to have high volume of patrons as we had to wait for check in. Overall, value for the price paid and recommended for stay at the end of the trip for relaxation.

Our thanks and appreciation to Eastin Makkasan staff for a wonderful 2 days stay. Their customer service was excellent, buffet breakfast was really good and overall hotel was clean and neat.
Really nice hotel, good value for money, clean rooms, great breakfast, nice and helpful staff, good location- a short took-took ride away from siam paragon, MBK and more. a sky-line station nearby, so you don't have to take a taxi from and to the airport.

Location is around 10 mins away from Pratunam area. It is located at one of the corner at the end of the street however it good environment especially with its relatively quiet surrounding. Service are great, basis necessities you will need in the hotel are readily available.
Shopping Tip:
Walk a bit further you are able to see market street selling goods at night. And there are numerous massage parlor along the way.

Entering the lobby, the sight of the hotel is marvelous.. Service from door step to the concierge was already pleasant... Got the rooms quickly n prompt with no hassle.. Ambience very nice .. The room is spacious with a good view of bangkok.. Believe me.. Overall experience for what im paying for, i dare to say i will surely come back..
