Wir waren in diesem Hotel nicht das erste Mal. Es gefällt uns immer noch ganz gut, obwohl in der Zukunft in den Badezimmer einiges erneut werden müsste. (angeschlagene Badewannen und Waschbecken, neue Duschwände )

Oh dear, my favorite hotel has disappointed me.

I have stayed here over the last 15 years but this time the booking was screed up although I paid in advance. The staff no longer smile or even acknowledge you. Breakfast has become a chore fighting off the bad mannered mainland chinese and one has to hunt around to fill up ones coffee cup. Can't even supply a limo to the airport any longer and the coffee shop food has doubled in price and halved in quality. Time to find another hotel in bangkok.

First of all, there were several pros about this hotel, which it was in a great location, comfortable environment to stay in, the transportation was convenience, the room was clean and tidy, as well as good in food and dining. However, the cons was that receptionist was very impolite whenever I was repeating a question, the receptionist started to speak in a rude manner. Lastly, was that staff of the hotel should improve their English more to avoid communication barriers.

Big room but small bath room

We were delighted with the spacious room and friendly hospitality by the hotel's staff. There were ample choices for the buffet breakfast, suitable for family stay.
The only drawback was that the bathroom seems a bit cramped, the toilet bowl was situated to close to the wall. Clothes hanger/hook is totally omitted. The hotel overall scores 6/10 and not a bad choice for short traveler who is on a budget hunt.

we enjoyed our stay very much. this was my parents first time to bkk and we wanted to go to the seafood buffet for my mom's birthday meal. the concierge was very helpful with tourist information and also made sure the taxi knew where we wanted to go. convenient if you are willing to walk to bts station huay khang

nothing much to complain about. hotel looked grand upon arrival with a huge lobby. the rooms were slightly bigger than normal room size with a variety of international channels to select from. breakfast in the morning was the usual international spread and they do try to change a little bit of the menu everyday which is a plus point.
staff service at the hotel was mediocre. i had to ring the housekeeping numerous times before they brought me what i wanted. on other occasions where i rang only once, the item eventually did not arrive at all which created much of my frustration.

The Emerald Hotel BKK was very pleasant.
The pool was really lovely. The rooms were very nice, clean and the beds made fresh every day.

we had two adjoining rooms, traveling with nearly teens. the staff were all very caring whenever we encountered them. they tried very hard to stop and talk to us whenever they saw us. if we had minor problems they were fixed quickly. even teddy got swept up with the bed linen! when notified the staff went out of their way to locate him and return him the same day. do include the breakfast buffet, it was very nice. i highly recommend the emerald bkk for families. it was also very close and handy to bidc for convenient, highly professional, top dental care.
Shopping Tip:
Definitely take a 20 min taxi ride to Pratunam Markets - Petchburi Rd? in the city. For wholesale clothing and gifts.

My family first visited Emerald, 17yrs ago, we still have the home video of the pool where my kids swam in etc. Thought we'd do a revisit, brought back wonderful memories of time we had there then. Very well maintained, as if time stood still. My boys just loved it, even thought it was just for one night. Some things have changed no doubt, again a wonderful hotel to stay in.
The night market is also a nice place for shopping for stuff you may have missed out elsewhere. Overall, good service, clean rooms, great facilities.
