great locations, 10mins walk to nearest BTS. the shopping malls like platinum, central world, and pratunam markets are all within walking distance. helpful and friendly staff. it's worth the dollars for budget conscious travellers. the rooms is rather old incl all it's equiments. smelly walkway to the rooms, small and slow passenger lifts. No hot water boiler. This hotel is good for budget conscious travellers, with the reasonable rates online, you get the superb convenient locations with everything accessible by foot or short distance taxi to almost every locations. For crazy shoppers like us who were out early in the morning and return late past midnight, the ambience doesnt really matter. Don't like the taxis and tuk tuk drivers that tot you the moment you step out from the hotel though, it gave a bad impression. Suggest you fly a 'PINK' colour taxi that runs by meter and doesnt take you to some jewellery and silk/tailors.
Great foot massage in house that stay opens till 2am.
Shopping Tip : Platinum mall, pratunam market, central world plaza

Old, somewhat rundown, expensive for what you get. I was not happy with this hotel.
I paid extra for the 'new wing/tower' rooms but these were old... It is not the standard of hotel I expected by a long shot.
Breakfast was not included and this would have been 236 Baht.
Halve the room price and then perhaps this hotel will be value for money.
Shopping Tip : This hotel is convenient for Siam Centre and MBK shopping malls.

Food, location to canal boats and major malls. Great Breakfast Buffet. Someone enter room while we were gone and removed a wet towel from the bathtub, but did nothing else. Asked management about this in email, got no reply. On the flight home, found my noise cancelling headset was missing. No Safe in room and yet warning sign about valuables on desk, not responsible...safe guard your stuff There were no wash cloths, AC control only would go down to 17C but room was always to warm for ths Fahlung from the North. When you leave the room with the key, everything shuts off, so room always to warm for me. In
Internet is not free, cost 500 Baht for 24 hours. In the lobby, the printer was "broken."
The Bellhop service was super. The breakfast and restuarants food and service was great too.
The internet price was about 30 percent less than the walk-in rate...
Restaurant Tip : The Thai Restaurant at the Tower Pool had some great tasting set meals and everything served was just both attractive and tasty.

Location is very good and I love it the smoke odor is so strong that sometime I cannot sleep becuase of it. One of front office cashiers was very rude and annooying. The rest of staff are very friendly and accomodating.
Travel tip : Some staff are very rude and unpleasant. Rest service is excelent, fron office cashier are not friendly at all. Once I asked information about where I could obtain safety pin and was answer unpleasantly by telling that she didn't understand me and told me to go away.

Strategically based on pitchburi road next to Shopping location. Excellent recreational facilities avail. Good food. The standard rooms provided needs to be well maintained as hotel standard - Furnitures/fixtures needs to be of better quality.
The rooms should have ventilations - No windows avail. Overall good exprience. The staff, right from those at reception to room service are courteous and help ful, with promnpt service. I will definately recommend my friend/family members to stay at first hotel,but yes may be at Delux rooms, standard rooms are not in line with expectations.
Travel tip : As mentioned above it is strategically place. You have good shoping places around - Platinum mall for clothes,Computer city mall for electronic stuff, Indra Market.

Excellent location. Near to Platinum Fashion Mall, Pratunam Market, etc. Walk around 10 minutes to BTS Ratchathewi Station. Water Heater is old and poor. According to the local ppl, First Hotel is a 30 years old hotel. However, it's excellent location and reasonable price attracted me to stay there for my 1st trip in Bangkok.
I stayed in a superior room at Tower Wing (Reviews show that the room in Tower Wing has newer facility,but I found it's also quite old) The corridor is too somber. It definitely feel scary if walking alone at night.
The room facilities include tv, bathtub, hairdryer, fridge, phone, etc. All is in reasonable condition. However, the water heater is very poor. Very difficult to control the temperature. It's either too hot or in cold water. At last, I took 2 days shower in cold water.
Hotel only supplied 2 bottle of water daily (total 2L). If need additional, we have to pay.
With ard SGD67 per night w/o breakfast for Saturday & Sunday, it's reasonable. But, it's probably can get a better one.
Shopping Tip : Platinum is a very big fashion mall. All shirt and accessories is very cheap. Most of the price is fixed, but buy 3 pcs and above, can get the wholesales price. If you like shopping, you definitely will like this mall.

Near wholesale shopping centre/mall. Nice and friendly hotel staff. And good resonable price. Perhaps the old wing needs some new renovation. But still it is a good hotel considered 3-star. Overall the 5D4N stay at First Hotel were enjoyable for me and my bf. It was very near the wholesale shopping mall and the staff there were very friendly and provided help whenver needed. There were also a few food stall and thai massage parlour nearby, making our tired day a pleasurable enjoyment after a whole day of shopping.
We tried the food at their restaurant 'Plum Garden', compared to what we've had outside, it wasn't really that good as recommended by the staff, but they do have very nice ambience there. So if you're looking for a romantic place for candle-light dinner that could be put in consideration.
Shopping Tip : There is one Pratunum Centre near the hotel about 10min walk from there. They have very good and cheap Thai massage there. Worth for a try <3

just beside the main road. Very good location for those who are looking for wholesale fashion in Platinum Mall. The wholesaler can deliver your purchase to your hotel/room without charge. 15mins walk to BTS directly to Weekend market (20mins) and MBK (5Mins).

The hotel is well maintained and the hotel receptionists are friendly and helpful. The room rate is reasonable and better offer if booking is made in advance online through Agoda. Location of this hotel is very strategic as it is near to BTS station (Ratchatewi) with just 5 min walking distance. Besides that, it is near to a few famous shopping complex such as the Platinum, Platunam, MBK, ect. The lift is quite slow in respone even though there are three lifts in service at one time. The sound prove between the rooms is not good and noisy sound from neighbour room could be disturbing especially at night. The hotel is well maintained and the hotel receptionists are friendly and helpful. The room rate is reasonable and could get a better offer if online booking is made in advance through Agoda. Location of this hotel is very strategic as it is near to BTS Ratchatewi station (5 min walking distance). Besides that, it is near to few famous shopping complexes such as the Platinum, Platunam, MBK, etc. The hotel is divided into two wing, Main wing and Tower wing, where Tower wing is the later built building. The hotel food is nice and the price is reasonable.

This hotel is worth the money and i will definitely stay here again because in a place like Bangkok. U would be out in the day and back in the night and what u need is just a place to rest. The ambience doesnt matter right? so the bed and toilet fits the bill perfectly for a good night's rest. No noisy aircon or bugs bugging a quality night's sleep for the next day's shopping.
A stone's throw to the nearest BTS Ratchedewi and other shopping malls. 20-30baht gets u to almost the nearby shopping malls :)
Last but not least, great food at the doorstep! Streetfood rocks!

Within walking distance to Wholesale malls & Skytrains. Remember to book at the newer wing, the older wing really looks old. Lobby a bit dark.. but overall ok, nice.
TV channels all in Thai only 1 or 2 in English.
Buffet Bf not nice.. Lounge close at 11pm. Hotel is value for money, book at the newer superior room. Heard Deluxe rms are smelly & old. Near wholesale malls & sky trains. Very convenient! Massage is EX in hotel, cheaper can be found just outside. Opp. Hotel has a damn nice cafe with good food. Overall Good.
Shopping Tip : Excellent spot for crazy shoppers like me!

Hotel is stituated in a very good location. Walking distance to shopping paradise and food courts. Hotel needs to improve the water heater system. Most of the times there are not hot water supply Overall we did enjoy ourselves even though we have hot water supply. We spent most the times shopping and dining nearby the hotel area where you can shop until you drop. I will choose First Hotel again in my next holiday destination to Bangkok in another few months time.
Shopping Tip : You will definately will experience the shopping paradise within the area of First Hotel. No regrets and I will highly recommend this hotel to all my friends who would like to travel to Bangkok.

There is a massage parlour, the girls are well trained, available for 24-hours. The water heater control which is not function and the water pressure is low. I like the cleaniness of the hotel. Also the reception staff is friendly and warmed towards the guest. I can easily excess to the hawkers foods by walking distance.

After shopping and with tired foot,reached hotel very late at night, the foot massage services is still available. The shower water heater temperature cannot be control and water pressure is low. The reception staff is well verse in English, friendly with smiles. Room is clean. Also, very convenience for foot massage.
