Good location, cheap, a perfect place to just rest after a busy day of shopping The attitude of the staff The location is strategic, within walking distance to a few shopping malls and Siam Square. The price is very reasonable, and the beds are comfy. A perfect place for a good night's sleep after shopping, and within walking distance to the BTS station.

clean bed with no bed bugs, 24hrs stores such as 7-11 and Burger King nearby, access to all the major shopping malls on foot, the ease of public transport such as taxis or Skytrain. The toilet and the air con vent is leaking non stop, it eventually disturbed my sleep. Unfriendly staff, the only friendly staff was the lady we met on the first day, others are so snobbish. Stay at this hotel if you really just wanna do some serious shopping. We eventually shopped till we dropped. Its so convenient to travel with Skytrain which is only a 5min walk frm the hotel.
Thank God the bed was very clean, no bed bugs! But the other staff should learn to smile as the faces are like having PMS!
Do not take taxi or tuk tuk outside the hotel, it's better to hail one at the street. The stupid tuk tuk driver outside our hotel took us for a joyride before he sent us to our destination, so that he could get free petrol tokens. He did not charged us for our trip but we were pissed coz he wasted our time!

Staff are cheerful and helpful with any queries you might have The air conditioning could not be adjusted and the room had some wall paper that was peeling. The bedspread was kind of old too. Stay at First hotel was generally pleasant. The service was good and staff were helpful. Location is a great plus as it is close to MBK, Siam Square, Pratunam Shopping centre etc. The cons of the hotel are that the rooms appear to have quite old decor and the bedspread looks rather old. However, the double room we booked was large enough to have a third bed put in.
Shopping Tip : You can walk to MBK and Siam square. Beats paying for taxi everytime you go.

Fast and efficient when checking-in and checking-out.
Near & a walking distance to famour shopping mall. I have to personally call for room cleaning.
No coffee provided. If i were to book hotel, i'll definitely will come to agoda.com to search for hotel prices. Anyway, it has the lowest rate among other sites.
Shopping Tip : It is only 5-10 minutes walking distance to the famour shopping mall - Platinum Fashion Mall. The mall has so many shops that you will have to go back again. Hence, First Hotel will be the best place to book your room.

1) Staff not gd with english
2) Room view of the carpark 1) Upon check-in, the staff attending to me was rude & has no patience to answer my enquiries.
2) At night, requested for hot water. Only came after 2nd reminder. Requested for drinking water cause we drank all, didnt come at all.
3) Room was clean but the condition of it looked a little run-down.
Those were the main issues. The stay was still decent for a 3star budget hotel, but price should be cheaper.

Near the Wholesale Market where you find a good selection of women clothing. My room Air-cond. did not work very well.
My Booking does not include buffet morning breakfast. The First Hoel is in a very good location, where the shopping complex is nearby, i.e. The Platinum, World Trade Centre, The Pathtunum Shopping Complex , and the roadside stall along the five foot way. The women clothing wholesale market is also nearby. Eating stalls and Fast food outlet is walking distance. Transport is not a problem.
Travel tip : Watch out for the Tutu/Taxi in front of the Hotel, you will be taken for a ride!

Cheap - most ppl are affordable
great location - walking distance to Pratunam Market
meal - there are stalls, Convenient shop when you step out from hotel.

hotel breakfast not included. im glad that the clealiness is improved compare to last prev stay, no more bedbugs. However, this time the breakfast is not included. Quite dissapointed on this. The hotel rate also is more expensive compare to last year. There is No worry on your meal as there are a lot cheap eateries around this area. Walking distance to MBK,Pantip Plaza,Pratnum Market,Platinum mall.
Shopping Tip : Shop early morning nearby baiyoke hotel.Nice and better quality clothes

In the middle of the city,Pratunam area. close to the main shopping area. tuk tuk is very much available. The bell boy were taking advantage by asking for a very unreasonable price for Big taxi. so i took a normal taxi to airport. a difference of Baht1200 is a lot of money. well i dont hv problem with the hotel..the muslim food restaurant is very convinient for me and my wife,the waiters and waitresses were very kind in serving us.
Shopping Tip : The big Mall called MBK is just 10mins walk,u can take tuk tuk and they r not as expensive as what i was told. they might divert u to other tourist shopping area as they get a fuel coupon,but u dont hv to spend $ at the diversion. sometime u might end up not paying $ for the tuk tuk,as the tuk tuk driver appreciate the fact that u spend time(even 5min) at the diversion area as they get free fuel coupon.

Near walking distance to shopping malls and alot of local road side hawker stalls where u can shop along while walking to the malls. Hotel facilities are quite old and there's no boiling kettle for guest to make hot drinks. Room service is quite slow too......... This hotel is quite old and not so fantastic if you are particular about service and new/comfort. But it is value for money and convenient walking distance to those famous wholesale fashion malls.
Shopping Tip : Just short walking distance to few shopping wholesale shopping mall (Platinum fashion mall, Pratunam mall.....), alot of side food hawkers too.

I really like this hotel. it's near shopping centres and wholesale shops Hotel staff at counter not too friendly We have been to bkk for years and everytime we stay at First Hotel. It is an old hotel but resently they have improved the rooms in the new wing. We go there to do shopping and this hotel is near shopping centres and wholesalers. Food is easierly found and i would say that this is a good and cheap hotel if you don't mind staying in an old hotel.

For the past 5 yrs my family and myself have been staying in this hotel.Eventhough it's an old hotel, they have upgraded the rooms. This time the rooms we got look brighter and cleaner. It's near shopping centres. We really like the hotel. Cheap and good. The reception needs some help. They are not so friendly. We like this hotel as it is cheap and near the places we need to go. Every year my family will stay here. Only thing they need to improve are the staff at the check in counter. They were not so friendly but i think even this will not discourage me from going there again. It's near Wholesale centres, food centres, MBK supermarkets.
Travel tip : Whenever you take a cab make sure you tell them that you want the fare to be from the metre or they will take you for a ride.

room and toilet is too old... should paint again, the toilet make noise (mean the fan), the lamp in corridor also too dark totally, we stay 3 day 2 night in the First hotel, the location is very good because it no too far away, may able to get special Thai food around the hotel. wee are the budget traveler, so the value for money staying in this Hotel is cheaper n this is our budget... for the condition, we stay in standard room is near to emergency exit, a bit noise near the toilet but i don't think is toilet fan noise, only this make us feel not comfort...
Shopping Tip : just walk around the street near the hotel, you will found the very good taste Thai Food....

The hotel is Well located and having a good front office and good staff. The hotel is well situated but anly needs to be clean and better maintained... looked abit old. All rooms need to be better maintained and better serviced. Restaurant Tip : the breakfast is Good but could be better

nice location again, cheap hotel, easy going on ur nerves. and has this really nice tour operator(not the one in the lobby but this girl who is in the business centre right next to the massage parlour ) she is very helpful and gives lovely rates for all excursions... no safety deposity box in the room, old hotel, old rooms, the hallways not very well lit and is always is as busy as a railway station it is i guess for somebody who is looking for not very expensive accomodation, what i hate is that they take deposit for room keys and everything like safety deposit box which is annoying, also very packed at all times. but rooms are clean and basic and not much to be expected out of them...in the heart of the shopping district so that is a plus point. very popular with indians i guess i saw so many tours living there.....
Shopping Tip : there is a very good chinese shop right next to the hotel which gives very good money exchange rates...

What i liked most about First Hotel is the proximity to Platinum Mall where I did my wholesale shopping. Room is average, bed is nice ( large )We tried room service and the food we ordered was good. TV has no English channel because all were dubbed in Thai (except for Star Movies). Restroom has a rundown look. The room is kind of dark. internet is expensive. We ordered coffee at 6 in the morning for room service and no coffee arrived. First Hotel is a good choice when you want to be near shopping malls ( around 10 minute walk) and it is very close near the road. There are also a lot of food stalls outside although we haven't tried it but hey all looked appealing. Internet is a bit expensive ( 100baht per hour??! ) You have to walk outside at the left side of the hotel you will find a cheap internet cafe that charges you 20 baht per hr. If i would be asked again I will return to this hotel for the reason that I want to be near the malls )But if i would stay at Bangkok again for leisure purposes I will choose another hotel. Affordable rates too.
Shopping Tip : Near Platinum Mall and Pantip Plaza
Buy your souvenirs and trinkets at the streets because it is more expensive when you buy at the mall.
