Great for shopping; very near to Pratunam Market and many of the shopping malls. Not near to the sky train.
No swimming pool.
Few facilities for guests.
Not family orientated. Very good value for money hotel - don't expect the height of luxury but it is clean and comfortable with a reasonable buffet style breakfast. Some of the rooms could do with refurbishing and it is a bit tatty but generally ok. The location is excellent for shopping on Pratunam Market and Pratunam center also close to Pantip Plaza and the new Platinum shopping center.
Ideal for a few days business trip or shopping but not a holiday hotel, no swimming pool or facilities.

Thai Massage center right downstairs Should have different variety of breakfast every morning, staff to improve their english, My partner and I slept with a cockroach in bed throughout the night only realising it the next morning when one of our legs accidentally squashed it to death and caused a very dirty smear on the sheets. Pest control please! I believe I can get a better hotel with the amount money i paid at First House Hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Pls do not trust the tuk tuk drivers. My partner and I asked to go the a restaurant in Sukhumvit. All the tuk tuks at the area insisted that the traffic is very jammed at Sukhumvit that hour. They insist to bring us to this restaurant that offer cheap prices on seafood. We went. Price is expensive. We didn't mind paying that amount. Until they added tax and service charges. The bill went up to 2X the price we expected to pay. On the last day there, we found out from a tour guide that the tuk tuk drivers get to split 50% commision with the restaurant from the charges of our meal that evening. So I urge everyone who plans to visit Bangkok to be very careful. Best is travel in a group of 4-6ppl. I'll still go back to Bangkok but being extra careful. Have fun!

very accessible, and is well known among the thai drivers. Right in the centre of all the shopping malls. The hotel is cheap yet decently pleasant. the hotel is very clean, but it looks a little old. The tap takes a while to warm up during a shower so had to let it run for a little while. I have been visiting first house many times because i like the friendly staff and the superb location of the hotel. Everything you need is just around the corner - 7-11 is 2 mins walk away, food stalls - just downstairs!, shopping - just downstairs!, money changer - just opposite hotel, reliable cargo service - just opposite hotel, pharmacy - 5mins walk away.
With the low hotel rates, first house is one of the hotels that offer the best coverage that i have seen.
Shopping Tip : instead of popping by the shopping malls, try shopping downstairs at the hotel, they offer fashion buys at half the price of those selling at the malls.
