This is a good budget hotel for those who like to shop. Stuffs selling at the night market behind the hotel near to Intra Square is very cheap compare to Kao San road & Pat Pong's night market. Along the road to hotel is filled with all kinds of delicious food hawker.
Cheap price.
Furnitures are old and service is so so.

Taxis and tuk tuks available 24 hours per day without leaving the lobby landing.
Right in the heart of the cheap shopping
Expensive restaurant in comparison to the hotel.
Not hard to spend one nights accommodation fees on one meal for 3 people.
- Shopping Tip : Dont miss the computer mall on the other side of the main road.

Good budget hotel, clean rooms and friendly staff. Great shopping in all directions. This is the hotel to stay if you're after bargained clothes or wholesale prices
Positioned in the heart of the best clothing markets and malls
Restaurant very overpriced-no complimentary water, it seems to be free until they charge you for it on checkout.
- Shopping Tip : Try the Golden Plaza Mall (Golden something anyhow).
It's a four story mall at the end of Soi 19 and kind of on a backstreet. Very classy clothes and so cheap.

Although the nearest skytrain station, Ratchathewi, is a 15-minute walk, the advantage is that the First House Hotel is conveniently located within the Pratunam area which is a must-visit if you enjoy shopping where the locals go.
The Central World Plaza, Big C, Erawan Shrine on Ratchadamri Road are just around the corner within walking distance. The stores at Pratunam may close at sunset, but the street shopping doesn’t end there. On every night, except Monday, you can enjoy shopping at the night bazaar on both sides of Ratchadamri Road. This is where you can pick up sequined studded garments, bags, hand-made crafts, etc. and test your bargaining skills. As a result, I was able to go the night market a few times during my 5 nights’ stay in Bangkok.
And after the night shopping when the hunger pangs strike, enjoy al fresco dining at the street side stalls on Ratchadamri Road with the wide variety of local food tempting you – grilled chicken, seafood, stewed pork, beef noodles, etc. – for a nominal sum.
Whilst some budget hotels serve Continental breakfast, I was surprised that First House Hotel serves a buffet breakfast from 6:00am to 10:00am. It may not be a fantastic spread, but nevertheless it was a substantial menu with noodle soup, fried rice, fried noodles, eggs, sausages, toast, salad bar and freshly cut fruits. I was even able to skip lunch after a hearty breakfast.
The corner money changer at the junction of Phetchaburi Road (the main road) and Soi 21 (the street selling clothes) offers the best exchange rate. It has a banner proclaiming “best exchange rate in the area” and it’s true.
Last, but not least, after all the feasting and shopping, you can't leave Bangkok without a traditional Thai massage. The 1-hour massage for only Baht 299 (promo price) is one of the highlights of my trip. If you're pressed for time, try the 15-minute neck and back massage for only Baht 99 (promo price).
Great location for shopping.
Request for a king sized bed was met although it was for single occupancy.
Very spacious room.
Very clean linen - bedsheets and large white towels.
Buffet breakfast.
The hotel's massage was great value for money.
Furnishing was old.
Pillows were not very comfortable.

The hotel is economical and very convenient for a first timer in Bangkok. I can say its a nice hotel I can also recommend it to my friends who has a budget trip like us. It has nice amenities offered and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you like to shop in Bangkok this hotel is very close to malls.
The hotel is close to shopping malls and the price is very reasonable to travelers and backpackers.
The hotel cleanliness needs to be improved as there are smell inside the room, cautions: has bed bugs, my niece had bites too. Hope you do some renovation to your rooms. The menu in breakfast should be more variety.
- Shopping Tip : The hotel, as what I've said earlier, is really close to shopping malls.

The hotel is located near the popular area close to shopping mall and cheap market. Cleaning is ok, room condition is a little bit old. Breakfast is not bad. The neighborhood street is dirty, but it seems to be a common situation in Bangkok. Staff can speak some English, but not fluent. Hot water is not hot enough.

The hotel facilities/services offers great value for money. The location is of great advantange as it is easy to go around Bangkok as transport is accessable to the hotel. For Filipinos, a Filipino store and money changer is just across the hotel. It made our first time in Bangkok enjoyable and comfortable. My kids loved it.
best is it's location, It is close to all the shopping malls, Tuk tuk and taxi's are available 24 hours. You can even contract the tuk tuk drivers infront of the hotel.
Rooms are ok. good airconditioning and great hot and cold showers. The big breakfast is good to help you start the long day ahead.we stay oct 25-29, 2008
One of the elevators was not working right. It could hold only three people at a time causing long wait to go up or down when many guest are around. The staff try to be as accomodating much as possible.(some difficulty understanding each other sometimes but that's ok)
Breakfast needs more variety. Its ok to have them 2x but the third and the fourth time makes it boring aleady.
- Shopping Tip : At the side and back of hotel at small shops that is a great bargein. Take time to explore them before you visit the MBK. It's far cheaper in those small places . also the the Platinum fashion mall across the main street, walking distance is also agreat buy. it has fastfood . The tuk tuk invites you to go to gem stores before you go to you destination. The drivers get free gas coupon. It's ok you get to see the other side of Bangkok the ride is another experience as it is. Just tell the drivers you agree to see only one or two gem stores. If you have a credit card, your bound to used it. It is hard to resist the jewels in those places

Twice a month I go to Bangkok, and I always stayed at first house hotel. I like its location. However, I don't really like the breakfast as it is always the same and also the choices for Moslem food is not so many. Moreover, the people there are not friendly especially the cleaning service.
It's located near the area for my business.

My overall stay in the hotel was pleasant. Good value for money too. I never encountered any problems during my 5 day stay as the staff wass very friendly and helpful. The food in the rrestaurant is very good and reasonable. I also loved the fact that the shopping centers are very close as well as money exchange shops. I would be willing to come back and stay in this hotel again.
Close proximity to the shopping centers and market, spacious and clean rooms, good customer service, friendly, helpful and corteous staff, good food
no extra electrical sockets you can use so you have to unplug the refrigerator or the tv just so you can charge your cellphone, laptop and camera
