Nice hotel in shopping area

I like the IT mall Panthip Plaza as I am interested in electronics. there you can find almost all things. the hotel is nice and rooms are comfortable except maybe need a renovation. The carpets should go as it causes allergy and my allergy did not get better because of the whole carpet and it smells dirty.

Need to improve on service. Especially checking-in.
We booked for 5 rooms in total. We are very thankful to be given 2 rooms to check-in during our arrival at 11+ in the morning. However, the offical timing for check-in shd be 2-3pm.
Extremely tired and sleepy.. Need the room to freshen up & rest..We got the balance rooms only at ard 4pm. Reason: guests request for late-check out and only check out at 2.30pm.. Oh well, that is seriously not my problem..
And worst of all.. During the last day of our stay.. No electricity from 9.30-5pm.. Im lucky to hav empty the safe before I go for my breakfast or else i wont be in time for my flight at 12.40pm. But not so lucky for other guests though..

Next to the wholesale shopping centre - platinum...

Room are clean and tidy. Except for the "woody" smell...
I wld supposed the smell come from the wooden furniture..
But overall.. Im ok after airing the room with opened window.
Hotel only allow check-in after 2-3pm.
take a short walk out of the hotel to get food..
DON't even waste your time trying the food court in the hotel.. [YUCKS]
Yes.. agree tht the pricing is damn cheap.. But.. the amt tht you are paying, you can get nicer and tasier food outside..
Recommendations: You can try the thai rest. juz outside Pantip plaza or try those eateries in Platinum Mall...

This is not the first time I have checked in at Grand Diamond Hotel. It's actually the 3rd time I have been there. It never failed to make my trip an enjoyable one. After 1 year, I have seen the new renovated Grand Diamond with shops at the 1st Level whereby you can have a 1st start on the shopping! The breakfast buffet varieties never fails to make my day as well. The chicken porridge is my favorite! The location of the Hotel is the best of all. It's right beside Platinum Mall and once you have too many purchases on hands you can just pop back into the Hotel to deposit your purchases before heading back for another round of shopping. It's also within walking distance to Central World, Siam Paragon, Siam Square, MBK etc. Hotel Staffs are also very friendly, but some may not be able to communicate well in English.

friend and 1 stayed for 3 nites and this is the 3rd time i'm staying in this great hotel. i was extremely amazed when i returned this time and found that the suites is link to a shopping plaza...just at the lobby you will find a starbuck outlet and many other fashion shops. besides the hotel is platinum wholesale fashion mall. hotel is also close proximity to mtr, big c and ~20minutes walk to mbk. the b.fast buffet has not let me down - serves a wide array of oriental and western fare.

The staff were very friendly and helpful as we booked in with another couple who were arriving later. The breakfast was good compared to other hotels in area. The swimming pool is shared with other occupants of the ajoining building but this caused no problems. Shopping in the area is great and great food close by.
Shopping Tip:
The hotel gave us a 100b voucher to use in their shopping complex. This was a real bonus as the shops still gave us discount.

We have stayed in grand diamond Suite hotel almost all the time we are in bangkok as it is located near the shopping areas we visit and walking distance to Siam Peragon, Central world, MBK, the Platinum, Pantip Plaza etc. We go to Bangkok for shopping and this is morst convenient as we can park our car also.

the hotel is a little outdated and is in need of refurbishing. the breakfast wasnt the best as it tasted like it had been sitting out for ages. there was good variety but it just didnt look appealing. the hotel staff were really friendly and helpful as were the concierge. the rooms were big enough and the bed was comfy. overall all the hotel was good but not great. it is really close to markets and the shopping centres.
