Children at the hotelThe hotel does not charge children under 12 years of age if they are staying in a room occupied by parents and using the existing bedding. This is limited to one child per family, however, and additional fees will be charged should parents require a rollaway bed or cot. For children 3 years and below, breakfast is complimentary. For children between the ages of 3 and 12 breakfast is charged but at a special children’s rate, while those above 12 years of age are charged the same rate as an adult. A Good Option

This is a great choice if you need a nearly full kitchen, a washing machine (no dryer), a separate bedroom and living/dining space, and a central location.
I was very happy with the Mercure Asoke as I needed the space to work, was there for almost a week, and needed a central location - near public transport (much better than taxis in bkk).
There were some minor weak points - in six nights I once got a newer and softer towel, others were old and rough. Also, twice the staff recommended local businesses that were overpriced (tourist ripoff) and of poor quality. Do not take their recommendations! Also, they do cater to chain-smoking businessmen - so rooms are smoking.
Otherwise, the place has a good shower, good bathroom, good and large bed, nice big new tv with a few movie stations, it is quiet and clean. And just a short walk to the subway, the skytrain, and terminal 21 shopping/dining. It's a great base, and recommended for longer stays. I didn't have their breakfast, as you can do quite well nearby and at a much lower cost.

Value For Money!
Big spacious room, fast check-in and extremely friendly staff

We were gupgraded to the Executive King's Suite upon arrival and the check-in process took only 5 mins! Greeted by friendly staff through out our stay. Big spacious room of 96sqm with well equiped mini kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Everything was pleasant except for the noisy air-conditioning and mouldy smell in the room. We will stay here again but will request for a room with quieter air-conditioning and will bring some air fresheners.

- Wonderful restaurants such as: Le Dalat (Best Vietnamese), Baan Khanitha (probably the best Thai food), Shin Daikoku (one of best Japanese -along with Tsu-Nami), Neil's Tavern for great steak
- Siam Society- for Thai lectures, library, small house museum, worth a visit manageable in size.
- The famous Bangkok Dental Spa: first in its kind of spa/dentist office visit. try it even for just a cleaning, if not whitening, just for the novelty.
- Robinson Department Store and Terminal 21 only 5mins walk away
- Soi Cowboy: a semi red-light district not too far away, not too close by.
- ASOKE BTS Skytrain & MRT Sukhumvit about 5 minutes walk. The easiest way to get around

- The new International Airport, Suvarnabhumi, is only about 30mins away.

Grand Mercure Asoke Bangkok is ideally located at the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 19 and Asoke Road. Only minutes aways to Asoke BTS Sky Train Station and Sukhumvit MRT Subway Station. The shopping Center and Queen Sirikit Convention Center are nearby. The new International Airport is only 30 minutes.
