Nice, clean hotel room and facilities. Hospitable and friendly hotel staff

no cons for us

Grand President Hotel is a good and nice hotel that we stayed in Bangkok, though the hotel location at Soi 11 is not quite adequate with family tourist like us with kids, well it is good for adventurous tourist though. Friendly and very accommodating desk reception hotel staff, kind bell boys, clean room and hotel hallways. We did not have the chance to dine at Cafe 11 located at the hotel lobby due to hectic schedule that we must follow. Hotel swimming pool located at Tower 3 is very tempting to indulged in, the pool water was very relaxing though quite chilly but once in the water you don't want to get out. Room accommodation was also relaxing and quiet, it's like you were home, but not as big as their standard room, their standard room is much bigger as compared to other hotels that we had ever stayed with in other countries, what more their deluxe or suites rooms. Over all, Grand President Hotel is a good place to stay for Asian tourist like us.

Centrally located in Sukhumvit area, walking distance to skytrain station

Hotel consists of 3 towers. Tower 3 is opposite the main hotel tower 1 and 2. Tower 3 by itself looks like 3 star hotel with probably one staff manning the hotel lounge area

Travelled many times a year to Bangkok and Grand President hotel has been always my choice if i wanted to stay in Sukhumvit area. The location of the hotel at Soi(street) 11 is centrally located in this part of Bangkok, quiet and away from the busy main road but walking distance to skytrain station (Nana station).Hotel furnishings needs upgrading especially bathroom. I always had problems with the shower pressure despite having stayed in their standard, suites rooms. I had the same problem this trip but comforting words from hotel General Manager, upon my check-out will definately make me wanting to stay again in this hotel in future.

Nightlife Tip : Plenty of night bazaars shops, pubs and restaurants starting from Soi 1 to Soi 7 and along main Sukhumvit road all the way to Soi 17. Vibrant night scenes and experience in this part of Bangkok

Good value for money, nice big rooms, received free upgrade to suite for one night stay.

Location on Soi 11 is going downhill, breakfast buffett is lower qualitiy than previous years, lost my wallet in the lobby when I checked out.

I have stayed here twice before in previous years. Location is convenient to the Nana Skytrain station and other Sukhumvit hotels where my friends stayed. The check in was easy and staff was courteous, but when I went to the reception for check out, I had to wait in line 10 minutes before being served. Then after I paid my final bill and checked out, I lost my wallet in the 100 feet walk from the reception to the taxi desk. Either someone picked my pocket in the hotel lobby, or my wallet fell out as I entered the taxi, or someone picked my pocket as I was getting into the taxi. I called the hotel twice, and no one on the hotel staff found my wallet. I was in full sight of at least four hotel staff the entire time, from check-out at reception to the taxi outside the main doors. There were very few other people in proximity to me. Someone on the hotel staff should have seen my wallet and returned it to me if it was dropped. I was very disappointed in the loss, and will not stay here again. I suspect that the hotel staff were complicit in the loss, but what can you do if you are on the way to the airport to catch a flight?

Hotel Feature Tip : Beware of pickpockets in hotel lobby or by the taxi desk!!! My wallet was lost or stolen between reception desk and the taxi stand outside the front door.

Having stayed many times at this hotel, i am a big fan

price is more than others..

I have stayed at the grand president hotel many many times. I always stay there now after having sampled many in the Sukhumvit area. I like the many restaurants in the area. The nightlife is unbeatable with many bars and nightclubs in the region. You are walking distance to Nana and Soi cowboy..

Great Location in the Heart of it all. Clean Rooms and great staff.

Lousy Gym facilities. Beds on Rollers.

Great Location close to all the hot night spots. 2 Great Restaraunts to choose from and room service was quite reasonable and tasted good. If you need to workout the equiptment is of the low bidder variety and some of it is assembled incorrectly. Limited Free weights. But I guess most people do not come to Bangkok to work out. For the room rate the value is very good. On anothe rquirky note the beds are on rollers and you have to be careful getting in and out of bed as the bed will move significantly.

Nightlife Tip : Walk to Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy from here. Also 50 feet away is Climax Nightclub. Plus many other Nightlife attractions nearby.

location, service, clean, great restaurant

a bit pricey

Another great stay at the Grand president. The best part of this hotel is the great location..many great restaurants and bars easily within walking distance. very clean rooms with a nice restaurant. I have stayed here many times and other than a bit pricey, the place is a gem. The service and waitstaff is always polite and responsive.

Restaurant Tip : Domino swiss restaurant on Soi 11

Good location.

The hotel is getting very tired! Rooms had a musty smell. The hallway rugs are old and dirty. The sofa in my suite was so old and dirty we didn't sit on it to watch TV. We used the dining room chairs.

The Grand President is in need of a major overhaul to make it a good place to stay. The hallway rugs are old and dirty. The suite we stayed in had a musty smell to it and the sofa was so old and dirty we couldn't even sit on it while watching TV. The bath/shower leaked and had some chaulking missing. If and when they decide to renovate they will have to shutdown the hotel. They were plastering and painting in one room on our floor and the smell was so strong from the chemicals when you got off the elevator that is was overwhelming! Staff was great-location is great. The hotel just have to be brought up to 2009 standards!

Restaurant Tip : All restaurants in the area are very good!

location, amenities, quiet spot, breakfast buffet.

If you're in the far wing and not the main building, the rooms are a little old and tatty, although acceptable and clean.

I thought the value for money was ok, and it was great to be able to quickly walk to all the Sukhumvit road offerings and the Sky Train in less than 10 minutes. But try for the main wing, and not the annex, which was less attractive than I'd hoped for. An OK, not great spot, at least in the annex.

Great experience for the price!!! Guest Rating: 9.7

Had all the features I wanted. -Gym -laundry service -Great housekeeping -Trustworthy -Close to Business area

Only con I found is that my room was not carpeted. I do prefer carpets on the floors of hotel rooms, but no problem.

I have to say that this experience at the Grand President hotel was great. The staff were friendly and courteous, and were always willing to help. The area was very close to the Business district, so everything was very convenient to me. The Gym also had all the equipment I was looking for. The recommended restaurants were also great. I personally would prefer carpets on all rooms, but either way, the rooms were clean and had all other facilities I was looking for.

Shopping Tip : Very convenient to business area. Lots of shops nearby and also close to transit train station.

Liked the pool areas and the suana. Staff were very nice and helpful. although getting a taxi through reception was a fruitless effort.

Getting a taxi through reception was a fruitless effort. Had to share with someone else to ensure I got to the airport on time. My Standard room was not very nice and the only window was off the kitchenette with no fly wire you couldn't open the window without being eaten alive.

Overall a good hotel with nice staff and I would stay there again but ensure I had a better room.

Hotel Feature Tip : Great pool.

The location of the hotel and easy ascess to the shopping mall was good. The rooms were very clean and that i liked for sure.

Internet should be free and the bathtub should be bigger,we had the Deluxe Suite.

Hospitality from the staff was great. They took care of all your needs and were able to give you good directions to various places.Good tv channels they had as well as good resturants in and around the hotel. The food was good and the staff at 11 Cafe' Resturant were great and very professional.

Travel tip : The location of the hotel was great for shopping at the mall and if you like to party the discos were in the area as well.I would reccomend this hotel for anyone and i would stay there again with no doubts.

Central location in Sukhumvit, High service standard, Excellent in-house Japaneese restaurant

Slight need of a touchup inside the rooms in Tower 3 were we stayed.

The Grand President Hotel became our safe haven in Bangkok. Not that we spent much time there, but the place was comfortable and felt real hospitable. The room we got was in Tower 3, across the street from the main hotel, and as I gather the cheaper part of the hotel. Nontheless, it was clean, well-maintained(albeit in need of a refreshment) fully functional and fully equipped. The service was remarkable, and I highly recommend the Japaneese restaurant in Tower 2.

Friendly Staff Clean Room Nice amenities

Pool water was not clear

I had questions about the Grand President Hotel before deciding to book there, so I sent them an email, and received a reply within 48 hours. After arriving, the staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Although this is typical Thai hospitality, I feel that it was notable. The hotel provides high-speed DSL in the room, but I was charged an addition fee to use it. The pool water was pretty murky, but other than that, I was very happy with my stay. I will book with the GP again when I stay in Bangkok.

Travel tip : When using the BTS, exit at the Nana station. It is only 1 block from Soi 11
