The Grande Ville Hotel is ideal for anyone wishing to experience Chinatown. The hotel is on a busy road but the noise ends as you enter the door. There are a few restaurants nearby but a short walk will take you to several cruisines or food stalls. The Indian part of Chinatown is fasinating with the traditional clothes on sale at the nearby markets. Access to the boat rides along the river are only a short walk away. The Grande Palace and Wat Phra Kaew with the Emerald Buddha are also handy to this hotel.

The Grande Ville Hotel staff always try to please their customers. They have upgraded the breakfast room and the friendly staff always have a smile. It is situated in an area of Bangkok that suits us and the hotel is clean and comfortable.

None that come to mind.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Taxis are easy to access from this location yet it is easy to walk to Khao San and a bit further to the Bo Bae markets.

Overall abiding impressions: rudeness of desk staff -doorstaff very helpful - culture of poor service and greed that I'm guessing is 'top-down' in nature. Avoid this hotel unless you have business in this particular district of Bangkok.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : I took the trip to Pattaya which was very nice. The negative aspect of the trip was at the end, when the van dropped off the last 5 of us, and the group hired a tuk-tuk for the remainder of the trip. It was quite a distance to the hotel, and this was not acceptable to me. I had to pay for my return via taxi.

If you're looking for somewhere convenient and comfortable for the night's stay, it's a good place to go. If you're looking for more, like outstanding facilities etc., look somewhere else. Overall, I'm happy with my stay there.

This hotel is a little far from the shopping district of Bangkok 60 baht to go to pratunam. This area of the hotel is difficult to get a taxi especially during rush hours.

value for money. friendly staff.

filthy carpets.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Tour offered at the hotel lobby is worth the money.

The travel agent in the foyer is very helpful.

  • Hotel Feature Tip : Internet here is extremely expensive - 100 baht for 1/2 hour - it's worth walking down the block where you can get 1 hour for 30 baht.

The restaurant on the roof is great for the view but the food is very average - nice to go for a drink after a long day shopping.

  • Hotel Feature Tip : Don't let the concierge get you a set price taxi - he will make you think it is good deal but the metered taxi as ALWAYS cheaper.
