Impressive breakfast buffet, helpful hotel staff Lack of free internet connection, rooms in Crown tower probably in need of updating Having stayed at the Holiday Inn six years ago on a two day stopover in Bangkok and being impressed by the breakfast banquet on offer and the good service, we decided to book again here.
Its location on Silom road and 10 minutes walk from the Skytrain is very handy and all taxi/tuk tuk drivers seem to know where it is.
Reception staff and portering are helpful and friendly.
Having read on the hotel website that rooms had been refurbished recently, we were slightly disappointed to learn that this only applied to a proportion of rooms, and we ended up in an identical room to that in which we stayed 6 years ago. Needless to say, it was starting to look a little worn around the edges.
However, the breakfast buffet remained as good as ever (although cost us extra as not included in the price of the booking), there is a nice pool area for free use on the 6th floor and Pat Pong market and other sights are not too far away.
Overall, a good reliable choice in Bangkok with possibly the best breakfast in town.
Shopping Tip : The Siam Paragon shopping mall has an excellent bookshop (Asia Books) with a large English language selection.

Staying comfortable.indian resturant tandoor food fantastic.in future include breakfast also. We stayed 3 nights.it will better if you could introduce more veg items in breakbast.

Personal care - looking after our luggage while traveling to Burma, at no cost. The Holiday Inn on Silom Road is well located to visit the river, for cooling and cheap trip on the river taxi. It is also well located to visit the River City shopping center, for antiques, and the Oriental Hotel, for afternoon tea, as well as for the good shopping at Central department store, near the park. I now make it my main venue when visiting Bangkok.
