The hotel is ideally located for a wide variety of restaurants offering excellent food, outstanding shopping facilities at MBK shopping centre some 20 minutes from the Holiday Inn and a lively night life on Silom Road.
The tennis court, gymnasium and pool are clean and well presented with staff constantly in attendance and the dining menu represents great value.
I would recommend the Holiday Inn to all age groups of all nationalities.
Politeness of staff and attention to guest requests.
Cleanliness of rooms.
Value for $ re accommodation
repeated requests necessary to delivery additional coffee and tea to room. UHT milk should be stocked rather than "coffeemate"
- Shopping Tip : Take a cab or tuk-tuk to MBK shopping centre for great value and excellent clothing, shoes and electrical goods, rather than bartering on the streets for inferior goods.

The hotel is short of top class but has plenty of good qualities that make it a suitable base for the tourist and business-person. The location, reasonably near the Skytrain, makes commuting a good alternative to sitiing in stationary taxis. Our 'Superior' was clean and spacious with beverage making facilities and dressing gowns. The room service food was good but pricy by Bangkok standards. The breakfast was OK but unexciting with very little local offerings. Service at breakfast was slow due to understaffing. There is a fair amount of renovation in the lobby and the common parts ( the karaoke was out of action ) and some of the new wing upper floors were disrupted. It was noisy in the lobby. For some reason hotel managers think that foreigners expect frigid air conditioning and that their hotel will be judged by its coldness. The Holday Inn was excessively cold to the point that it was a health risk. The 6th floor swimming floor pool lacks shade and was deserted. Haris Bar is a good place for a drink with good service but a very poor band.
The Holiday Inn Silom is a good quality hotel with staff that make a obvious effort to give good service to the guests. It is a ten minute walk to the Skytrain which is valuable in the static Bangkok traffic. The 'Superior' room we had was large and comfortable in the older wing with the round oriel windows.
There is renovation underway in the lobby, the lower floor and in some of the new wing floors. The air conditioning was far too cold in the lobby and in the corridors ( we relied on cold air leaking from the corridor and switched ours off in the room ). The breakfast buffet is adequate but no more.
- Travel tip : Good Irish pub called Jamesons round the corner and a lively lunchtime streetmarket next door

The hotel accommodation respresents excellent value and the food, fair value for money. Rooms are very comfortable and clean although the shower head connection in my room required repair, leaking water all over the bathroom.
Location is excellent with easy access to Silom nightlife, shopping and restaurants.

- Shopping Tip : MBK shopping centre is within 20 minutes by cab and represents excellent value for quality goods, particluarly footware, electrical goods and clothes. Avoid street markets to obtain better value at the hundreds of MBK shops.

We stayed at the holiday inn for our last night in Bangkok before flying home. It was our anniversary and when my husband told staff on reception, we were upgraded to an executive/club room with late check out until 2pm. The room was very spacious and comfortable with a fantastic shower and Red Earth toiletries. The bed, and in particular, the pillows, were so comfortable I wanted to take them home, most comfortable nights sleep I have ever had. We were only there for 1 night so did not get to use many of the facilities. I imagined that dining in the Hotel might be a bit on the chilly side as the temperature in the reception, bar and restaurant was bordering on Arctic! All in all, have no real complaints and would not hesitate to recommend the Hotel, particular for shopaholics as Patpong market is a short walk of 50THB tuk tuk ride away!
Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!
Our bags, although locked to a cart, were stored outside the hotel beside the porters desk instead of in the left luggage room for 8 hours.
A smart hotel

I was very happy with the standard of service at the hotel - the staff were always polite and helpful and all requests were met speedily. It is smartly decorated and the rooms have new furnishings including beds. The bathrobe was the largest, fluffiest and most comfortable ever.
The hotel is centrally located, handy for shopping and tailoring and it is easy to get taxis to other parts of town.

In general, I was quite satisfied with the hotel.
The service was good in general, and the hotel facilities were well maintained. One mistake they made was that I had reserved a non smoking king size room, but they did not have it available when I arrived. After complaining to the manager, they finally swapped my room, and found me what i had requested. The rooms are above average, thought the TV reception was poor.
The hotel is well located close to the BTS train station. And close to the Silom area, and Patpong street. The interior was newly renovated, and the service was good.
Amenities are good, but a little bit pricey. Internet costs about 15$ per 24 hours, and a breakfast buffet would set you back 12$. The buffet was mediocre, with a poor selection of foods.
- Shopping Tip : Take a tuk-tuk from the hotel to Patpong for 10 baht. Beats walking, and it's a hell of a Thai experience.

the good thing you can use there is the Bangkok map, its easy to use and you can use the SKY train to go many places, you can go to MBK center or they call it TOKYO its shopping mall nice to go, you can go also to many shopping mall by train the maximum rate you will pay is 40 bat, one time I went to Zuite zoo from Holiday inn use Sarusak station then go to Silom station (you can visit Silom shopping mall its very nice one) and change the train and go to monument victory station then take tuk-tuk or metro taxi but make sure to tell him to turn one the metro counter it cost me 50 bat only, my advice to any traveler to use the clear map (you can take updated one from the Information center in the air port.
1- Very near from SKY train station by walking 10 mints and by Tuk-tuk 10 mints
2- nothing to write
1- Far a way from famous places.
2- not clean and the carpet so dirty.
3- Not that cheap so you can just increase your budget little bit and take better hotel.
Good & happy experience

Close to BTS and downtown area, good for shopping. Frankly, I am required to stay overnight as my flight arrives near mid-night and I will need to go Koh Samet the next afternoon.
Still have planning to go night markets, easy accessible by taxi, and relatively cheap, unless the taxi driver try to charge you extra money without using the meter! Taxi driver will offer tours, that is simply driving around the place, never agrees!
Back to the room, it is quite standard, but as previously requested, a king sized bed with non-smoking room! Great! TV is boring as I do not understand Thai, but TV is small and not interested in pay TV. Swimming pool is good but really a practice pool, small but clean.
Scent of lemon grass resulted by the aroma lamp at the corridor. Helps to drive out mosquitos, and smells not bad at all. Will provide disposable razors and sewing kit on request, house keeping delivery is quick and polite.
very good service at front desk reception, checking out quick and clean, bell captain polite and offers help
poor intra-department communication, especially with lobby cafe, barely communicating with English
- Shopping Tip : Taxi driver will offer tours, that is simply driving around the place, never agrees!

The hotel is centrally located to many restaurants, very close to night market and a very happening night life.
Overall, satisfied with the amenities of the hotel except that the toilets are on the smaller side and old fashioned.
