A grand oldeer hotel

we have always loved the imperial chain of hotels in thailand. we formerly stayed at the imperial on wireless road, but it is long gone. this is a kind of replacement of that establishment. the staff is good but at times seems unaware of the features of the hotel (contrary to what the advertisement says and the signs in the elevator there is no mediterranean restaurant in the hotel any more. the emporium shopping center is a short walk away and sukhumvit road has an abundance of good restaurants, even an excellent thai/mexican place (coyote) very close by.
Restaurant Tip:
Some very good restaurants are a walk away -- Baan Khanitha and La Dalat are on Soy 23 and on Sukhumvit Road itself there is an abundance of good and fun restaurants.

have stayed here quite a few times and they keep a record of you so they can welcome you back. it used to be a 5 star hotel and the current owners are keeping it up without the 5 star price tag. well worth the stay. the vip lounge is a real bonus.
Travel tip:
Pay the extra few dollars to get use of the lounge areas for breakfast and afternoon drinks etc. Really good. There are a couple of decent 'uncomplicated' bars in the vicinity as well. Just stay clear of the bars with mamma sans spruiking.

this hotel has become our hotel of choice when visiting bangkok having stayed at many others primarily in sukumvit and siam. while the hotel is now getting relatively old by bangkok standards the quality of rooms and service remains first class. at the price it would be difficult to find comparable value.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Use thre rear entrance to the hoteltoand walk through the adjacent park (perfectly safe) to access prong Pong skytrain station and emporium shopping centre

Great Hotel stayed here many times
great location, great service, easy carparking and good pool. close to sky train and mrt line.

as always faultless , no negative points all plus wheather as a couple or with the family, good easy access by car or without, close to park , emporium shopping mall and good food in hotel and many good bars within walking distance, and if you are looking for night life soi cowboy is a 10 minute walk.
stayed many times and will continue to use whenever we are in bangkok.
