this is the second times i stayed in indra regent hotel. i like this hotel mainly due to its good location conveniently located beside a train to airport. however, the flip side of this hotel is that it is a rather old and has a slight foul smell in the room. i believed it is due to the aged carpet. it will be good if the hotel could upgarde or change its carpet.
overall, my stay is quite pleasant.

Indra Regent is located in a crowed part of the city, probably good for those who wants shoping specially whole sale.
Shopping Tip:
you can walk around in shoping malls and streets, many displayed goods.

the reception staff was quite helpful, but the baggage handler took ages to come and help with the luggage.
they are very good when checking out to call a taxi for the guest to get commission from the metre taxi driver.so the taxi never put his metre on, so becareful.
besides that i am very happy with my stay.

hotel is at very convenient location for shopping and sight seeing.
However traveldesk and hotel taxi are quite expensive and there charges are exorbitant. for example hotel to airport they quoted 800 bhat, where as local taxi can get you there in 250 bhat.
Also hotel do not have internet(wifi) on all floors, charges are also very high 250 bhat/hour. Whereas I took a local SIM for my IPAD for internet for 200 bhat and i used internet for 3 days without any topups.

A great hotel looking a bit sad and tired.

We have stayed at the Indra for about 12 visits to Bangkok, and have witnessed a gradual decline in service and cleanliness, and a huge increase in prices! The hotel used to have great food, but now 3 restaurants have closed - and they have opened up a McDonalds in the lobby bar!
The buffet breakfast was first class
We had room servicd one night - over AUD20 for a small steak, and over AUD10 for a sweet and sour pork! Terrible fat smell when you walk in the door! The carpets in our bedroom were in need of a good clean.
The staff were lovely, always helpful and doing a great job even under pressure from "those above".
Restaurant Tip:
A great value for money meal is just up the road from the Indra - at the Skye Baiyoke Suite hotel. Huge array of food for about AUD16. All you can eat buffet, and really lovely. Perfect view - from the 43rd floor restaurant. Very popular, need to make a booking!

Hotel getting old and stale

Over the years that I have been travelling, the hotel has deteriorated. the hotel has become old and stale. The breakfast is not condusive to a four star hotel.

Great location but needs renovation

3rd time we have stayed in this hotel in last 5 years and were quite disappointed this visit.
The hotel has become very run down.Cleanliness as deteriorated.There is much less staff and not looking happy.
Shame as was a beautiful hotel.
