Quiet hotel seconds away from Sukhumvit
Rooms were almost of a high standard (bath, shower and dirty grouting let down), location (quiet, but seconds from Sukhumvit and Asoke sky train), but poor service

At the last minute, I decided to stay in Bangkok and got a cheap last minute deal on this hotel. The hotel is small, but has a great location down Soi 19, seconds from Asoke sky train, yet quite peaceful.
Despite specifically requesting a non smoking room (suffer from asthma), they allocated me one. When I told them this was not suitable, they said I had no choice and the booking could not be cancelled. They told me they had no other rooms, but were advertising for upgraded rooms. They were willing to let me pay for one of there- not acceptable I'm afraid- so poor customer service, poor attitude at the desk and poor Engligh.
The corridors of the hotel look very promising (modern and quite chique). The initial impression of the rooms is good- large with kitchenette (not my thing) and well dressed. The blinds were smoke stained (smoking room). The TV gave away some of the age (not flat screen) and some of the built in pine furniture was a little chipped. However, the bathrooms had dirty grouting and small baths with not nice shower curtains and old showers. The tiling in the bathroom still felt modern and well designed.
It is a shame, because this hotel could be real 4* with so little spent- replace the baths and showers and put in a flat screen and anyone would think this is a top hotel room. Overall, for the money I paid, if it hadn't been a smoking room (and you could tell), this would have been a real bargain. So not a bad hotel for the money, but one that could frustratingly be sooo much better for so little money spent- when will hoteliers learn?

We managed to have an early check in and the staff at Key Hotel arranged an early check in for us. I will strongly recommend Key Hotel for its strategic location, rooms are clean n staff can speak English.

Nice hotel, but need improvements...

It is a nice place.
It really looks like they try to maintain it nice and neat, so I really like to give a good feedback.... but not everything is perfect !
The bathroom is full of mold, although they try to hide it with this white thing... They really should hire a professional, to do this job, otherwise it never comes out right !!
Apart of that, rooms are very nice.
The ONLY view you will get from this place is the next door building, so if you do not mind that...
Public areas are very clean.
Absolutely nothing to look for in the breakfast !!! Need a HUGE improvement !!!
Internet is a disaster !!! Do not count on it at all !!! Probably it will NOT work from your room ! But they have a computer in the lobby, this one will work !!!
Overall, would give it a 7.9 out of 10

superb value for money
good location with easy access to public transport and basic necessities.

Superb hotel and i have choose to come back after stayin in other recommended hotels..worthwhile the money!!
The best thing is the fact that it has a mini kitchen and a microwave for those that like snacking and those that just want to rest and eat while watching tv in the hotel after a tiring shopping and sight seeing day.

This is my 2nd stayed at this hotel. Location is good and convenient. I hear people trying to open my door during my stay there in morning and afternoon when I'm back in hotel to rest. Their B'fast can be improved.

The Hall (and the breakfast room) is claustrophobic. The room (sold me for 40 sq.m.) was 24/26 sq.m. Poor breakfast. The front office has to improve. As there are other hotels in this area at the same price level, I will not return here and I do not recommend this hotel.

Nice room at great price in great location

Overall the room was almost perfect except for one thing which was the shower water temperature. It literally blew either too hot or too cold. I believe it's not fault of the hotel but it should be the guests before me, who probably had fiddled with the tap settings despite having so many stickers pasted all over everywhere to advise them to "please kindly" DO NOT adjust the tap mixer settings! So much for the most intelligent creature on earth
