The suites at Lebua State Tower are huge! The bathroom is the size of some hotel rooms I've stayed at in other countries! My favorite parts of the room are the kitchenette, with stove top, sink and fridge, and the balcony with a great view of the city and river. You will find everything is comfortable at the Lebua.

kitchenette, balcony, great restaurant, free wireless.

The Sky Train is a bit far away and the hotel shuttle only runs until 5pm.

  • Shopping Tip : The State Tower has a Starbucks and a couple of Spas! Great for Thai massage.

I travel to Bangkok usually at least 3 to 4 times a year. And with so many good hotels it is hard to pick. I chose Lebua mostly because the restaurants are extremely well regarded (in fact Bangkok.com rates The Skybar and Breeze as the number 1 and 5 most glamorous places in Bangkok(. While each of the 4 restaurants will take your breath away. It is the hotel itself that will make you love it. Every little thing in the room is just nicer that other places. Each room is a suite and is certainly spacious enough to be 2 rooms.

The definition of luxury. Down to the tiny details like soap, sheets, everything is nicer. The restaurants and views and service is of course spectacular.

Not for the budget traveler.

  • Hotel Feature Tip : While not far, the hotel is not really close to the skytrain. The hotel provides free shuttle to the skytrain, while you can easily walk back. This is the one time I would recommend a tuk tuk. It should only be 40 bhat and a tuk tuk can weave though traffic faster than a cab or than you can walk.

We got upgraded to a larger deluxe suite which measured some 125 sqm. The setup was excellent, the service is just great and the Scirocco bar on top of the hotel is a must-see. If you intend to go out at night (probably somewhere in the Sukhumvit area) this hotel is a little off the center. You walk some 15 minutes to the nearest BTS station which then gets you to Sukhumvit of Siam within 10-15 minutes. By taxi(during rain) it took more than an hour. The balconys (each suite has one) are beautiful and you do have a great view of the city from there.

Scirocco bar on top of the hotel, your own balcony.

Location is a little off the center.

The Lebua is more than a hotel, it is an experience. Staying here was one of the most memorable things I have done. Staying on the 57th floor with an amazing view of bangkok was breathtaking. The rooms are very luxurious and well appointed. My only real criticism is the staff are so concerned about fullfilling your lavish needs, that they sometimes forget the little things like asking you if you want a coffee at breakfast or remembering if you are waiting for a taxi. However overall it was amazing.

Very well appointed rooms, extremely friendy staff, and million dollar views.

The breakfast was a bit dissapointing for the lavish surroundings.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special. Smiling, friendly yet professional staff took care of our check-in and showed us to our suite. An upgrade to the Executive 2-bedroom suite made us feel even more special! Fantastic views from the two balconies, but we were more interested in the superbly-equipped kitchenette, the immense settee, the broadband Internet access, the Bvlgari bathroom accessories, the BTS day pass, the wonderful breakfast buffet that went on until 1130 (very civilised!). How could you possibly fault it?

Friendly, professional staff. Well-appointed kitchenette. Luxurious touches - bathroom accessories, chocolates and flowers. Wonderful breakfast buffet.

None!

  • Hotel Feature Tip : The ban on sandals in restaurants doesn't necessarily apply to breakfast - although we did see someone in shorts apparently being turned away.

Having stayed at five star hotels right across the World, this has to rate as one of, if not the best. Excellent service, great bars and restaurants with spectacular views, all suite rooms, that have everything you need, even a balcony on the 57th floor. This is a must hotel to stay at, if you're in Bangkok and can afford the extra few pounds, book it.

Also our second stay at Lebua was very satisfactory (10 days). The suites are very large and this time we even had two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms at our disposal (great when you travel with kids; they have ample space to move around). The breakfast is fantastic. Great selection and time until 11:30 which is very relaxing. The only disadvantage is really that there are no restaurants or proper food courts around. So it is either one of the hotel restaurants or out in the city.

Near to highway, near to MRT, and near to the river ferry.

Little dinner options in the area other than at the hotel.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the ferry to Wat Po and the Grand Palace; it is fast, good fun and cheap.

The hotel is amazing. Is one the best hotels i ever been. The design of the hotel and especially the restaurant is something that cannot be explained by words. The view that you have from the hotel and especially from the sky bar is amazing. You have the feeling that you are flying. Also the location of the hotel is fantastic. Next to the river and only 10 minutes walk to the sky train.

the restaurants are great and the sky bar is fantastic. Also the service was something that i will never forget.
