Slap bang in the middle of Soi 33, and all the buzz of the area. A friendly low key 'oasis' feel. Close to restaurants, bars, banks, skytrain.

Can be a bit noisy (late night clientele and some street noise if your room faces the soi)

Livingstone's can be a bit surreal : a taste of Africa in the heart of Bangkok. But a friendly casual feel pervades. Service not always brilliant but they always try their best. Rooms are clean and large enough, great bathrooms. Free internet which works fine. Not for everyone (ie families or non open-minded couples) but great for the single traveller or guys' groups.

Restaurant Tip : Basilica's Pizzeria is right across the road: brilliant Italian menue and a million pizza choices. Good value and popular with local expats.

Friendly staff, quiet and close to many of the attractions. More for single travelers.

Bit dirty.

If staying at Bangkok, this is a good hotel for the location and price. Staff very friendly and bar at hotel (bit pricey). TV is old and shower doesn't drain too well, but rooms are nice and air conditioning works well. Off the main street so not too noisy, but close to Soi Cowboy and park. Train station within walking distance to other zones in Bangkok.

Close to many beer pubs and restaurants and many of the local massage places. Also near train station.

Bit dirty but nothing too bad.

Location is in a very good spot on Soi 33, very close to all of the action. Also, the staff from the housekeeping to the front desk and waitresses are all great.

Only thing that I didn't like is that you have to pay 30 baht ($1 USD) for each game of pool at the hotel.

This is a great little hotel in the middle of Bangkok. It is ideal for a single guy or group of single guys because it's on Soi 33, very close to the Sky Tram that can take you all over the city. The staff is great and I would stay here again in a heart beat. Very good water pressure too...

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you're in town to party with the local ladys, the bars on Soi 33 are considered to be among the more expensive in Thailand. Walk or take the Sky Tram to Soi 23-26 (Soi Cowboy) and you'll find better prices on everything. Living stones is away from that which is nice so you can get some sleep.

Good value, great nightlife location, excellent (outdoor) restaurant

Noisy street at night, till after 2am, only rooms and part of bar is airconditioned, more suited for single men than families

This hotel is a small, but comfortable place to stay, clean rooms, nice bath area and comfortable beds. My room had a shower and a nice sized bath tub, double glass to insulate temperature and sound. The restaurant has very fine Thai dishes, very fresh seafood, and Argentinan Beef. There are many (higher end) bars on the street suited for single males, as well as traditional massage and some very nice restaurants. The staff was very helpful to whatever we needed, room service, information, a nice but simple included breakfast, and computer connection.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Very close to the main Sukumvet, Sky Train and many stores for shopping. Very easy to get a taxi on this street. The restaurant "Basilico" a few doors down (Italian) is very good, we ate there three times. 70 plus varieties of pizza, wood burning oven, and many other Italian dishes too.

clean bright and roomy, and very handy for the BTS

Bit noise, tatty area

The location is good - in Soi 33 just opposite Soi 33/2. Its an easy walk to the BTS. The rooms are spacious and bright, but perhaps a little bare. The food was very good there and one can eat alongside the pool. The pool itself may not have been as clean as it could be and it seemed to be more decorative than used. Soi 33 is essentially a congested little street and is perhaps number 4 amongst Bangkok's red light areas. Unsuitable for families

I had another very nice stay at this botique hotel - The staff was as helpful as ever - Free breakfast is served throughout the day and always made fresh - Dinner at the hotel is just as good and has a wide selection - My room was very clean and maids were very effecient - Convenient location just a short walk to Sky Train - Highly recommended.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Nice park short walk up the street

The place has wireless Internet for free, which is helpful, but not strong enough in some rooms (you have to go down by the pool or something).

Travel tip : Try the street vendors' food - it's very tasty and inexpensive.

Not your typical hotel, and requires a little bit of adjustment of expectations. However, it is quite comfortable and the staff are nice.

i like swingming pool in this hotel,is too dificult to find out in bangkok

this is small hotel

Bangkok are hot, noisy but whent you come to this hotel you fogot it. Is very quiet and cool. You can swim and then work with free internet access in the nice table inside swimming pool. However, this hotel clean. We found the staff to be extremely helpful, it was a good place to stay and the location was good to get around bangkok.

Restaurant Tip : You can go out and have alot thai food restaurant with cheap price.

Excellent hotel close to the BTS. Free wi-fi with a good strong signal.

The hotel could be hard to find for the first time visitor.

Livingstone’s Lodge is a welcome refuge from the hectic pace of Bangkok. Located on Soi 33, Livingstone’s is a small low rise hotel located within walking distance to the BTS and the action located along Sukhumvit. The rooms are nicely equipped and maintained. The breakfast (not a buffet) is available into the early afternoon for late risers. The free and strong wi-fi signal was a welcome change after staying at other hotels. The dining area outside provides delicious meals at night. The staff are friendly and accommodating to make your stay as pleasurable as possible.

We must finally emphasise how horrible and difficult the reception staff have been. The level of respect shown to us was so low as to border on contempt, and this is honestly no exaggeration - it must almost be experienced to be believed. It is a very, very far cry from the expected Thai way of smiles , politeness and respect. These girls seem very unhappy and are terrible at their jobs. We do not recommend this hotel.
