Kind staff, lovely and peaceful pool and restaurant area
The interior of this hotel including the pool, restaurant and sports bar are quiet and very attractive. This interior area is away from the busy and noisy soi 33. Unfortunately, the rooms are right on soi 33 and are quite noisy. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a nice jacuzzi bath. The first night I was given a ground floor room which is right at street level. While trying to work several kids were playing within a couple feet of the window, making it very difficult. I was bitten several times by mosquitoes and had to vacate the room for an hour while the staff sprayed it. During the night until 6am people were yelling within a few feet of where I was sleeping. I got no sleep at all. The next day I asked to be moved to a quieter room, and I was quickly moved two floors up. Unfortunately, this room had even more mosquitoes than the first and my hand began to swell from several bites. This time the staff left me with the mosquito spray bottle after their first spray was not enough. While the rooms were sprayed I spent time sitting around the pool and watching the busy and very pleasant staff serve their customers. I met one of the owners from Germany who was also very pleasant and spent a lot of time making sure all of the restaurant customers were happy. I slept much better the second and final night I slept much better, despite the room still being a bit noisy.
If you prefer a well-run boutique hotel to a large anonymous corporate hotel, then this hotel is for you, provided that you are lucky enough to get a quieter room.

Room was nice and spacious. I upgraded to a room with jacuzzi and enjoyed it. Hotel itself is a garden in middle of the city.
With work in a nearby office at Asok, Livingston lodge was just the place I needed. I don't like big hotels and places where room service knocks on your door 4 times a day. The place is peaceful and quiet. You want an evening beer in the garden next to the pool? easy. Coffee on the house any time of day. Soi 33 is right next to Prompong BTS so its easy to get around the city. Was the right place for me.
Nightlife Tip : Right in the street are the "Dead artist bars" and Soi Cowboy nearby. Good places to chill out after a day

-Close to the Skytrain BTS monorail
-Extremely stable internet connection
-Decor creates a unique atmosphere
-Food is very carefully prepared
-Staff is competent and friendly
This hotel is a little more out of my price range for BKK, but it has given me much thought about my definition of value. As a result I have to change my paradigm. There is something intangible about the quality experience at this hotel, and I fear one can only understand through personal experience.

This is a small wonderful oasis right in the middle of Bangkok out of character with all the surrounding high rise buildings. Very friendly staff and comfortable rooms at reasonable rates.
No sunbeds by swimming pool. Junior suite sparsley furnished.
This hotel is little gem right in the heart of Bangkok and out of character with the surrounding high rise buildings. It is located very well for night life and a sky train station for easy access to other areas of Bangkok. The staff are very friendly and there is a good restaurant and bar on site. The swimming pool is clean although there are no sunbeds around it - just tables and chairs. Istayed in a junior suite which was very spacious but only sparsley furnished (for example no sofa or comfotable chairs)but t ihad a nice balcony overlooking the pool. There was a jacuzzi bath and good shower although advertised double jacuzzi would be a very tight fit for 2 people!! Breakfast menu was limited but could be ordered at any time during the day. Service could be slow if it was busy earlier in the morning. Would definitely recommend this hotel as a character place to stay.
Shopping Tip : Just around the corner on the main road (turn right out of hotel and then left on main road where it is on the left) there is a Villa supermarket with a wide range of items and a very good selection of wine (go upstairs for better choice) if you like to take your own wine (as I do) to restaurants in Bangkok

character, well located, good value, neat, clean and tidy, helpful owners, friendly staff, efficient service, Great wifi, nice pool, Nice bar, Pleasant surroundings, Late breakfast
Not much to gripe about. Not so easy to run luggage along the path and up the stairs to your room so make sure you grab a friendly soul to help.
This place is great if you're looking for something with a bit more character in a very well located part of Bangkok, that's good value, neat, clean and tidy. Very helpful owners, friendly staff, and efficient service with all the usual expectations. An hospitable oasis. Great wifi and pool. Nice bar. Pleasant surroundings. Late breakfast! Perfect.
Hotel Feature Tip : The hotel is located in a low-key redlight area but it's not at all "in your face". Still, you might want to be careful if you are travelling with kids or over-sensitive people. Perhaps less charming if you're a wife and mother.

Very clean - very convenient - very friendly - very good food
Very clean hotel with friendly staff and an excellent restaurant - set back from the street giving it a quiet atmosphere - large clean pool in a garden setting surrounded by dining tables and an adjacent bar with pool table - good music and a great staff of friendly hostesses - no complaints whatsoever - i highly recommend this hotel

Nice pool, free wifi, interesting bar on premises. Rooms are unique in their design.
The walkway is a bit funky, and stairs require some manhandling of luggage. Be prepared for that. Bathrooms are a bit on the small side.
This is a unique place, with a very laid-back and casual feel. The people are very nice and flexible, including things like the breakfast. I feel very welcome when I stay here. Wifi is free, though you may have to go to the lobby area to use it. Location is good, on Soi 33 near lots of bars and restaurants.

I've now stayed at this Hotel 4 times and would recommend it to the single traveller. The rooms are clean,The location is good.Close to a big shopping centre and various bars, restaurants and massage places. Also the skytrain is walking distance. If you felt you wanted to go for a run in the afternoon there is a big park circuit just across the Skytrain Bridge.
Nightlife Tip : Nana is very close if you want to see the Bars

Swimming Pool, Decor in Rooms, Poolside bar
The entrance and reception area seem to be unused, so when you enter it is not very inviting. There is a lot of wasted space. I'm not sure if room service is available. There was no menu in the rooms.
I quite enjoyed staying at Livingstone's Lodge, but I feel that it is a bit expensive for what it offers. I know other hotels in the area which are cheaper or the same price and offer a wider and cheaper range of services. The only thing that gives Livingstone's Lodge an advantage over these others is the pool.
Nightlife Tip : The Hotel is on Soi 33, which is one of the main streets for bars in Bangkok. However, Soi 33 is quite expensive and a little bit up-Market. A better street is Soi 22, about 5 minutes walk away.

- Friendly staff and management
- Great service
- Large and clean pool
- Good food
- Nice airconditioned, clean and quiet room
- Near BTS and Metro station
- Near a nice park
- Maybe the higher prices of the food compared to other hotels we booked, but hey, we had great service, so it was no problem!
- Jacuzzi was not quite powerful
A place to relax after a chaotic day in Bangkok Centre. We would book this hotel in the future, that's for sure!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Too much to write down and almost everything easy to visit by BTS nearby.

Very nice little hideaway in the middle of Bangkok.
Could have used stronger AC in the room.
Great place. You can float on your back in the middle of the pool and see that you are surrounded by tall buildings, but you are in what feels like a large home. The staff is friendly and helpful. The train station is very close, and there are several good pubs nearby.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There is a nice little park just down the street where you can walk for exercise without traffic or other problems.
