Great customer service. Good breakfast. Close to Skytrain and Subway. Clean and functional. Had a room safe and a free cable TV network!
Looks a bit worn down. Building construction next to it (we had the view to it).
A very nice hotel to stay in. Will do so when in Bangkok again. Travel was very easy as the Skytrain and Subway were very close by. The taxis at the front of the hotel were expensive. Catch them on the main road and make sure they have their meters turned on. The hotel itself looks like something from the 60's and 70's. It looks refurbished but not at all modern or new. It was easily affordable and suited our purposes, as we did a lot of sight seeing and required security and comfort from it and not luxury. Can recommend it to anyone on a budget. Check out the free cable TV network!
Shopping Tip : Do not buy outside on the main street markets. They charge tourist prices. Go to Pratunum Markets in the city and haggle away. You can get up to over half price off!
The Skytrain from the Airport to the city should also be completed by the end of 2009 so here is hoping I can just get dropped off at the hotel itself!

Good location for certain nocturnal activities.
We went to party in Bangkok for New Years Eve, so for a group of lads it was a good base from which to extend into the seedier parts of the city. Not the sort of place I'd take my mum though and not all that good value for money.

Staff are always friendly and recognise repeat customers warmly. Breakfast is good value and the rooms are a decent size and clean.
It would be nice to have CNN etc in the room but I appreciate that this comes at a cost.
The Hotel is centrally located for shopping and close to a major Shopping Centre (Robinsons) turning left or right to Foodland and the Food Court on Soi 7 and a short walk to the Night Markets.
The Hotel itself is well appointed for the money you pay and is clean and the breakfast offers a good variety of Western Food with an interesting mix of Korean/Asian dishes.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Have a good look along the Night Markets first without buying to get an idea of prices - then go to Pratunam Markets or if you are there on the weekend go to the Jatujak Markets (Skytrain)- THEN you will appreciate the bargains.

Around the corner from the madness of Sukhumvit & you can escape to the quietness of Manhattan hotel.
Breakfast is great, plentiful & tasty too.
Hotel staff are very friendly & helpful.
Internet access inside the lobby too.
I have stayed here many times but this time I noticed the hotel is getting old.
It may be because I stayed on the floor leading to the swimming pool but the carpet in the hallway was filthy, major stains. The tv in the room was from some antique museum, very old.
I have stayed here many times with my wife and we have enjoyed it every time. The hotel's location is ideal for everything you want to do. Shopping, sightseeing and close to public transport. All the night life you would ever need is only a short walk away, if you walk down the main road you encounter soi cowboy and if you walk up the other way you encounter nana plaza, so thats well and truly covered. This latest stay opened my eyes a little because the hallway have many stains. The tv was so old we could not use our portable dvd player because it had no outlet or inlet plugs. But after all that I really feel that we might even stay here again due to the friendly staff and lovely food.

Service was very prompt and excellent. Located in a quieter area but very close to all the facilities in Sukhumvit Rd. Just 10 minutes walk from Nana station and nice good court at Soi 7. Superior room was very spacious and well maintained. I will definitely stay there again.
Fixtures look a bit worn down. But no complain at all as it was one of the cheapest hotels with all the reasonable 3 to 4 star facilities.
I have already recommended this hotel to my friends.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Taxi service manager (Tom) was very helpful to organise a Safari World trip at a discount price. Talk to this man for all the value for money.

The location of the hotel was great. Quite neat and clean place.
The room was a little too small. The appearance of the lobby area could be made a bit attractive, without all the luggage seen in front.
The overall stay relative to the price paid was great. A decent place to have breakfast with a fair amount of food choices. The hotel is conveniently located close to the sky train as well as the metro underground trains. The Sukhumvit market is close by and very easily accessible by foot also.
Shopping Tip : he market area is close by and all sorts of items are available there.

breakfast
matress very "chinesely" hard, at least for westerners!
very good option if you want to be in the heart of the city, without too much noise.
Don't ask for taxi at the reception. It's much cheaper just outside the hotel.

lovely area to walk around.
I arrived very late, and had booking problems. There was no one around who spoke English- and I didn't speak Thai.
I was delayed unavoidably in the states due to closure of the Seattle airport- did not have internet access, so couldn't cancel or change my reservation. When I arrived in Bangkok, I went to the hotel, since that was the only one I had known of and it was 1 am. The room charge was more than double the original cost - and the hotel staff at the desk were unhelpful.

there is almost no space to put things in bathroom
The location of hotel is very good; surrounds by shopping centers and small shops, travelers can find all kind of things that price range from very low to pretty high. The hotel provides excellent free breakfast, my daughter and I like it very much! There are also many restaurants nearby, the flavor are verity, from Indian to Lebanese.
The things I don’t like in the hotel are that some bad smell in rooms, also there is too narrow space for putting things in bathroom.

good location and pleasant staff.
bit far away from main temples.
we stayed with our two children at the Manhattan and found it a great deal. plus the Korean restaurant made it for us, its really authentic and I've lived in Korea so I know my Kalbi! overall, we had a nice stay, arrived very late and had no problems checking in and got a king bed upgrade for our children. A definite bargain for this price range and lots of shops nearby on the street selling all the trinkets you need!
Restaurant Tip : fantastic and authentic Korean food at the hotel restaurant and the staff love kids!

Price, location & the pool.
If you want a clean, cheap centrally-located hotel in Bangkok then the Manhattan Hotel is a good choice. The decor may be a little tired but as you're in town to see the sights this shouldn't really rate a mention. The breakfast (included in the price) is ok & should set you up for the morning. That the hotel has a pool is good, as you can have a swim at the end of a hard day's tour.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Treat yourself to a massage at the back of Wat Po.

Room space is good. Good staff.
Need to improve the room. Need improvement in breakfast because they serve pork sausage & ham only. Prefer to change in to chicken.
Good location because not even 100mts to Sukumvit Road & very very close to ROBINSSON departmental store, super market & food court. Close to Asoke station will be a very good because use MRT to go to MBK for shopping.Hotel lobby is not too busy & it gives good feeling to the guest. Do not like the taxi drivers waiting out side of the hotel.
