This hotel is ideal base to see the major attractions as it is close to the sky train. This is less than 5 minutes walk away. This makes travelling around Bangkok easy. A good restaurant selling local dishes is on the same side as the hotel on the corner nearest to the sky train. You can even see the large elephants passing the restaurant. The internet is very expensive there are several places on the main road which are far more reasonable than the hotel which is a rip off.The buffet type breakfast is very good with a large selection of western and eastern breakfast dishes. The hotel has a very good tour desk which gives you lots of tours to choose from. These are reasonably priced when they were compared to travel agents nearby in the surrounding area.

The room was excellent. Great bed, great carpet, good thing has a fridge. Awesome bathroom, loved the bathtub. Good amenities pack. Helpful and always friendly staff. The breakfast ends too early and there's a point you don't get to eat anything, specially on weekends. Should last longer and have more refills in the food and maybe more variety. We have been traveling for 2 months and staying in the Manhattan Hotel was a beautiful break for the bad hotels we've been into. We really enjoyed the place, the location is excellent, its really good it is so near to the skytrain. We loved to have a bathtub, a fridge in the room and good, hot water. Good thing also they have the amenities set. The pool is nice. The hotel is a good place to relax and you actually can stay all day long in between the pool, the spa and the restaurants. We enjoyed it very very much. Thank you.

no more rooms at the end of my stay. wanted to stay 1 more night but they said they had no more rooms apart from that it is a nice hotel with good rooms the pool was off high standard and the staff were helpful, the hotel was very clean the location was good to get around the city.

Too far end of Beach road We like the room. The room is clean and confortable. However, the location is a bit too far at one end of the Beach Road. It is quite far and impossible to walk to the Walking Street. No lift facility and if you are staying at the 4th floor it will be a bit inconvenient. Breakfast is okay.

Price in Night market surrounding is expensive compare to others Good location, breakfast is standard. Price in the night market nearby is expensive compare to other night market. value for money. There are many Korea restaurant surrounding. If you take taxi from the hotel, they always like to bring you somewhere else rather than your destination. Taxi driver stop us at the road side when we refuse to go to the shopping place that he wanted us to go.

Rooms and hallways need to be refurbished. The main floor the hotel is fine and staff are courteous and friendly. However the rooms and upstairs hallways need to be refurbished.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : I few minutes walk to the skyrail transit system which will get you anywhere in Bangkok.

Toilets tissue paper holding, very difficult to put it again. Breakfast has no Thai or Southeast Asian food, its all very plain. One Restaurant should offer Buffet dinner, though it can be small for some guests to dine in the hotel. This is my first stay, I heard from a Westerner about this hotel about 12years ago and he gave me a rate then which was incredible and I thought the hotel standard would be much lower but now it is OK with the rate it is now charging. Good for staying with family which I did this time comparing the other hotel which is more for single guests stay. I like it and will stay next time for sure but do not increase the rate and improve the breakfast items to keep it hot until 10am upto when breakfast is served.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There was a desk in the lobby offering travel service, this was good.

This is a second review of the same stay i had to extend my stay because my flight was delayed because of the airport closed. i stayed three extra days a at manhattan.
I was checking out at 11:30pm for my 1 am flight. Normally the cabs that sit at the hotels and wait wont use the meter or try to squeeze the passengers for extras. never take a cab sitting at the hotel. it better to pay the premium for the hotel limo.
I told the doorman meter taxi only and the driver pleasantly accepted. the doorman was able to find me a meter cab at the door without any hassle in 2 minutes. for this he got a big tip.

The value for money is in balance. Selling points shoud be the location, the breakfast and the staff with it's flexibility The interior is good although a bit oldfashioned. I like it but others might find it a bit old with a yellow wallpaper and a dark floorcarpet For me it was the first time to book via a booking office. I was pleasantly surprised by the flexiblltity of the hotel management as I had to change my booking several times because of the strike at Bangkok airport. This hotel is not the streamlined, clean modern managed hotel but shows flexibility towards their clients. For me the Manhattan is a bit oldfashioned almost family style runned hotel wth a staff that after two days recognizes its clients. For me a good balance
Restaurant Tip : Yong Lee restaurant on the corner of Sukumvit and soi 15 which serves excellent duck dishes. Good place for a quick bite or a lunch

staff and under renovation I stay in the Manhattan all the time. It is great for settling in after a long plane ride. It's cheaper since my planes always arrive at 1 am. I think its silly to pay for a nice full price hotel for 4 hours of sleeping on the first day. I have started booking the room here only for one or two nights and then moving to a nicer hotel on the same block for the vacation portion of the trip.
the staff is moody. we had a cleaning lady walk in to clean the room in the room at 8am, waking us up. then at 1030 AM we left and we told her we were leaving for the day, she never cleaned the room. (we speak Thai fluent). In the evening we had to ask for towels and soap, when i called the operator he transferred me to room service, not house keeping. This hotel has refurbished some of the rooms and tries to get a premium for them. If there is a good room available(executive), they do upgrade for free without telling you. This hotel fills up on weekends because of its location.
Hotel Feature Tip : the hotel is close to other much nicer hotels at similar rates. use some free time to scout other locations for your next trip

Great location - Short walk to Sukhumvit
buffet breakfast - is not the greatest but is better then Furama breakfast
Internet costs money.
Hotel is old, and has smell. So if your looking to stay close to Sukhumvit and close to the skytrain and not far from the "scene" then its ok. Room is not great - its old and smelly. Breakfast is good, since its included. If the hotel rate were a bit lower it would make up for the cons. They are just now building a new hotel across the street so construction work will keep you awake. If you want to bring in a guest - everyone in the hotel will let you know they know.
Hotel Feature Tip : Use the Internet across the street. Way cheapper than the hotel.

great location, nice and clean, friendly staff, great breakfast buffet. bathrooms need updating, looking very tired. we only stayed at the Manhatten Hotel for one night, but it was an enjoyable experience. we were well looked after by the friendly staff. the rooms were a good size, clean and very welcoming. The breakfast buffet in the morning was great with a good variety of foods. Unfortunately most foods we had were almost cold.
The location of the hotel is great, a very short distance to Sukumvit Rd and Skytrain.

During ous stay it was noisy because of ongoing constructio opposite the hotel The hotel staff was very cooperative to arrange an adjoining room for me and my family
