Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

The hotel is okay for a budget traveler. The rooms were remodeled a few years ago as they became pretty run down. The hotel is not the best but is in a good location. he included breakfast is poor at best. Most of the time most food is gone or geared for the Asian traveler. Food was cold and undercooked at times. Insects were present in the rooms and in the restaurant more than I want to mention. Hotel staff are great however.
Nightlife Tip:
Soi Cowboy is nice but drinks are expensive. Nana Plaza is a fire trap and a dangerous place in case of an emergency.

I only booked back into this hotel in order to meet up with my case and clean clothes. At the second time of staying some things were better - the hotel appeared not so full and was without large tour groups. As a result the breakfast service was much improved and less under pressure.
However a large crane has just appeared in front of the hotel which suggests that the cleared plot here is about to be developed. The end result will be that you will building works both in front and behind the hotel. I suggest that this hotel is now suitable only for those who have an interest in building works or can sleep through anything.
Travel tip:
Go to Sukhumvit to get a taxi as the meters do not work on those taxis lingering outside the hotel

Near shopping
The room is okay but not the best that I have seen.

The hotel is old, and needs some refurbishment! The room and the bathromm need to be `shined`up. The pool is nice but you can't get there is you cant walk good, because of so many steps, down to the pool. But if you can come there it is nice and relaxing to stay there. Breakfast buffet is not the best that we had on this trip.
Shopping Tip:
On sukhumvit you have many place where you can shop.

I think that this hotel is suited for people who are in Bangkok on business and do not want to spend a lot on the hotel, spend the day out and are just looking for a clean and convenient place to stay. I would not recommend tourists who want a vacation to stay there.
Travel tip:
Very conveniently located.

The man who checks breakfast coupons needs to learn to smile and be pleasant to guests.
Restaurant Tip:
Eat at the food hall at nearby Robinsons for a very good value meal.

I suggest that the Manhattan desrves better reviews than it has received recently. I saw no cockroaches or signs of uncleanliness. That said, it has a tired feel to it but the rooms are in a better state than the public areas. The staff, as in most Bangkok hotels, were helpful and welcoming. The hotel does cater for large tour groups who are probably staying at greatly reduced rates and they sometimes behaved as if they owned the entire hotel.
The key is location - it is an easy walk to everything that you want in the city while at the same time being relatively quiet now that the work next door has got to the construction phase.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Do not use the taxis outside the hotel but instead walk to Sukhumvit

Talk about rundown, even the manager on duty said it needs pulling down, what else can one add. I booked a 'superior' double and got a tatty standard twin, but was upgraded the next day, but still tatty.
Travel tip:
Traveling on the MRT is great.
