Be ready to pay deposit of about 1000 Baht for key. That little bit surprised me, but you can pay in other currencies as well, so it was good for me because of leaving Bangkok after the stay. The personal is very nice and polite and the buffet breakfast is, in comparison to other countries, average but good (very good for stay in Bangkok).

Nice people, good environment, very good breakfast and the hotel is clean.

Some room facilities would need upgrade, the bathroom especially, because of little bit broken shower there was water everywhere (after having shower).

  • Shopping Tip : This area is very good for shopping antiques and gems. It is also close to the sky-train station.

I reached there and waited for at least four hours for the room and the staff was not cooperative. They did not even offer a glass of water, and they first gave the rooms first to those who booked for higher prices than ours at the counter.

Location

Small room and no health club and there is no staff who knows proper English.

I stayed in Manohra Hotel Bangkok from September 12th, 2008 to September 14th, 2008. I booked the hotel in advance, so I can enjoy a cheap price. The problem is when I book hotel for my friend named as Mr. Le Huy Duc, the hotel ask me to send through fax some requirement such as: Passport, credit card, standard form,... I sent though the fax many times but the hotel still said not yet received. Finally they replied me that the hotel is fully booked so my friend had to move to other hotel. At that time I was so disappointed but from the day I stay in Manohra Hotel Bangkok, I found that there's nothing to complain because the service there is good. I will come back to Manohra Hotel Bangkok again.

Manohra Hotel Bangkok is a nice hotel with fully equipped rooms but cheap. It looks cozy. I love all staffs there especially staffs at reception desk. They are very kind to me.

The only one thing I dislike is breakfast coupon should be exchanged more flexibly. It means that If I have one coupon for today and one coupon for tomorrow. If today my friend come so see me, I can use the tomorrow coupon for him instead of buying expensive breakfast at the hotel. I'd rather invite him to have breakfast outside than pay expensive breakfast like what I had to pay at the time I stay there.

  • Nightlife Tip : Bangkok is different from other capital. Bangkok seem to be busy all the day and night. In my country, all bars, discos or restaurants have to close at 12 PM so I love Bangkok at night. I think that if the Manohra Hotel Bangkok have some more small book to introduce some night nice places for all class of people, It will be more highly appreciated.

The hotel was alot better than me and my children expected for a budget hotel. The staff were extremely helpful - they had plenty of information when asked. Rooms were a decent size and well looked after by the housekeeping staff. The roof garden was quite good - it looked nice, it was well presented and looked after, a very relaxing area to spend time. A tourist ticketing agent was situated just outside the hotel, this made booking tourist adventures very easy. Would definatly return to this hotel.

The restaurant and pool were very good. Good location - central to city and shopping.

I was having high hopes of the hotel. Having visited & stayed in hotels in New York, Washington, Niagra Falls, Fort Launderdale, London, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Lusaka, Madagascar, Mauritiusm India, malaysia, and Sydney it is sad to find Manhora being sold on the net with no manager available after 5 pm. Incidentally after my second day, when i was back in my room for refershing, it was shocking to find the room and bed not cleaned. Looking for a manager I was to to come back the next day after 8 am as the latter culd not be disturbed. More so it was only after two hours that they found someone to do the necessary. I even found a cockroach in my room. Pity who ??? Thanks for understanding. Greetings fro Mauritius. Just to let you know that I have booked 90 rooms in La Plantation Hotel & Spa for my Regional pharmacy conference for Nov' 08.

Nice location and lobby.

Staff courtesy, cleanliness, noise disturbance, no manager available after 17:00 even in case of problems.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Get your sigh seeing trips organized by an official guide. Serves its purpose and comes out cheaper.

I checked into the hotel for a two day stay, I found the staff very accomodating with an English speaking receptionist assigned to me straight away, my bags were retrieved immeaditaly and after check in and the key charge being paid I was taken to my room shown how everything including how to program the safe combination, throughout my couple of days the staff didn't push themselves upon me but were quick to help when approached. All in all for a budget hotel in the heart of the gem area of Bangkok I found it clean, accomodating and easy to get to and from.

Easy to find,clean, helpful staff

A little noisy

  • Shopping Tip : In the heart of the gold and gem area, easy walking distance to the city rail.

Nice, but basic. Guest Rating: 3.3

The hotel gives a very good impression from the outside and seems that it is more expensive than what you pay for - looks like a trimmed down version of some very expensive western hotel. The room itself is adequate, the bed comfortable and the room clean, with parque flooring. The shower is in the bath which I don't like, but its good. The bell boys were helpful, but the staff at the desk were slightly officious. I had a friend come see me and we went to the room for a chat before heading out, but the hotel wanted to charge me 500 baht for the privilege, which I declined... Watch out for this. However, they did help with organising taxi to the airport, and in fact picked a taxi considerably cheaper than their own taxi firm, which was appreciated. The food at breakfast was basic, more basic than other buffets. If you have a choice, avoid it, and go eat somewhere nice for less money. Other than that, the stay was enjoyable and hassle free. The room was immaculately cleaned after I went out.

Very attractive from the outside. Close to nightlife. Room quite nice.

Charge for unregistered guests, irrespective of whether they come up to the room for 5 minutes or not.

  • Hotel Feature Tip : If you're looking to bring guests back, for whatever reason, book for two people even if you're on your own.
