Trendy hotel with a nice touch of Thai style. MET room size is good. If you stay at Metropolitan, MET room is the best choice.

Well run hotel that is appealing inside and out. Well trained staff, lovely bar, restaurants, decor, pool. Good choice for business traveler, couples.

  • Travel tip : Lumpini Park is lovely, within walking distance and night market behind it is a treasure hunt with some interesting souvenirs, silk items, art work and even jewelry.

The Metropolitan is a stylish hotel but without any element of snobbery or elitism. The outstanding memory is of the staff who simply cannot do enough to help you, and who all know your name within hours of your arrival. NB not that close to public transport and though taxis are readily available traffic jams on the road outside make journeys much longer than expected.

  • Restaurant Tip : 2 hotels (400 yards) alomg, Sunday brunch at the Sukothai Hotel is one of the best anywhere in the world.

We wanted to stay in the Metropolitan again, when we had a bad hotel experience in the Lebua. Pity for us that this hotel was fully booked. This hotel is the hotel of our choice for next time again!

This hotel is worth staying in if you have never been here before. It is not worth staying a second time, though, if I have other choices.

  • Shopping Tip : It is very close to the Lumpini Night Bazaar (night market). Only takes three to five minutes by taxi. The night market is big and interesting.
