we spent a couple of nights here to catch up with sleep after a long journey from london uk as well as seeing bangkok. good value for money and very friendly service and very very funny doorman. loved the night markets!!!
Shopping Tip:
Go to the night market which is situated outside opposite the hotel and try out your barting skill it good fun and the people there are very friendly

Good hotel central to Silom

Good quality hotel although older than most it has quality fittings and good size rooms.The bed was one of the most comfy I have ever stayed in.. Easy walk to al main areas of Silom including skytrain.

In fact, because of the Patpong Night Market the area's seedy edge has been softened considerably. At night the area teems with tourists and backpackers shopping for that illusive bargain. Some pretend to look interested in the fake Gucci handbags before temptation gets the better of them and they venture inside to witness one of the famous shows they've heard so much about. If you go for this it pays to be careful; while now rare, there have been reports of tourists being ripped off (especially when buying a drink for one of the 'hostesses') and clobbered with hefty bills after heading upstairs into one of the bars.
Also, if you plan to hijack one of the girls for a raunchy rendevous, it's advisable too to take good care of personal belongings once you've paid the 'bar fine'. However, whatever your take is on the Go-Go Bar scene, there's no denying that Patpong is still far safer than your average Western city centre. It's very well policed - there's a tourist police office at the end of the road, and CCTV cameras - and you'll find entire families nonchalantly walking around during market hours.

Perfect location but needs more than a face lift
Hotel couldn't have any better location and breakfast is also better than standard in Thailand.

Unfortunately age is coming to be too visible both in rooms and public areas. There has been some renovations in past years but in whole the complex is just a sad example bygone beauty.

Once you get past the lavish lobby things go downhill fast :
- I was trown my key and could go searching for my room on my own, luggage in hand, an astonishing lack of service that reminded me some very low-key experiences in my youth.
- The room is only so-so, rather small, smelling vaguely mushy, no cover on the bed, the bathtub didn't want to contain water so I had to bathe with the rusty faucet open, several walltiles are broken, no recipients in the wastebins...
- Prices for food and services are horrific : 400 Bt/hr for wi-fi, 600 Bt for breakfast, 600 Bt for a salad and a drink beside the pool (the menu called it a "Ceasar's salad, but it was only some green cabbage with breadcrumbs, the menu mentioned a combined price of 420 Bt, but then came 'service' and taxes extra).
- Lots of staff at the reception, all seemingly very busy, but help and/or informationfrom them is nonexistent.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Good place if you want to impress your friends with a grand lobby. Visitors are not allowed in the rooms, luckily so 'cause the'd be less impressed there.
Avoid, or you'd get a bad idea about Thai hospitality and luxury.
