Great location, clean and friendly!
Rooftop Pool, good breakfast At the river.
8.7
It was a nice and very clean Place. Especially the rooftop pool was a great retreart after a day of Bangkok dirt and smog craziness! The location is perfect: two minuite walk to Ko San road and with the ferry pier right there a nice and cheap way to get to all the sights along the water.
Good breakfast selection and nice to sit by the river.

great location and great rooms
Rooftop pool, breakfast on the water and close to the night markets.
9.7
like the title says, this is a great hotel to access everything. breakfast next to the river, ferry terminal to access various river stops and wats from, sunsets from the rooftop pool and very short walk to the night market.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
always always always, no matter what the taxi cab driver says, have them run the meter.

Excellent hotel in every way
Location, smart modern decor, comfortable well appointed rooms with balconies, lovely riverside restaurant.
9.7
I would strongly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again. The location is excellent - very handy for the river bus (there is a stop literally yards from the hotel) and for Khao San Rd and the Grand Palace area. The rooms are well appointed and are clean and well decorated. The rooftop pool is a big bonus - it has great views over the river as you'd expect. Breakfast was good and is taken in the lovely open air restaurant on the river, so lots to look at as you tuck into your bacon and eggs. It also has free internet in the lobby.

Very good hotel in a very good location
pool is great, even better if you grab one of the deck chairs
9.3
Coming to Thailand for the first time I first did not like anything here. Coming to the hotel at 2.00 am. might have been one of the reasons. On the next day I really started to like everything about this hotel: staff was friendly, breakfast was okay (but no Thai-food here), view of the river (that I did not have in my room) was very nice and it was quiet (what was my reason to come here in the first place). The location is great, close to a pier to catch a ferry or a tour bout ride, close enough to Khao San road (there is everything you might need on the way from the hotel to Khao San and it is more relaxed). In the hotel the rooms are very nice and clean. Spend a little more to get river view. Because if you choose this hotel, you were not looking for a backpackers, since you're not on a budget tour.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The restaurant offers very good food for a reasonable (but not local) price. Always calculate back to your Euros and Dollars here and you'll not be disappointed!

Nice Place but Security Issues
Location, atmosphere, restaurant,price
6.7
Had a family group of 8. Incompetence & confusion during checkout delayed me from checking out. Meanwhile, without my knowing it, the baggage cart was rolled out to the street and 3 waiting taxis apparently grabbed and loaded our bags. It turned out only 2 of them were from the approved company working with the hotel. The hotel security guy shouldn't have allowed it. We didn't realize it until enroute to airport. A bag was lost. It could have also been grabbed on the sidewalk, since there's no safe place to pull in off the street for loading. But I doubt it, since we had some family observing the loading. Chaos of the situation led to the loss of a new dvd player. Calls to the hotel were not helpful... they said the drivers couldn't find it (of course not). It's a nice simple, low-key, inexpensive place to stay. But next time we'll stick to the well-organized established hotels we've used in the past and spend a few more dollars.

very good location well managed
on the river bank by pier 13
8
It was my second stay at Navalai which is an excellent choice when I travel for business, but which can also be a very good choice for more touristic stays. as it is situated at Pier 13 on the river bank, travellers can enjoy river routes instead of Bangkok traffic. The river view rooms are superb, hotel is well maintain, the restaurant is good and the staff is very professional.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
take the regular boat service from pier 13! with this you will avoid traffic jams, and can stop along the way at major attractions. For 12 Tbhats, a boat trip in the evening is a lovely and cheap way to enjoy lit up Palace and temples. Perhaps stop at the Mandarin for high tea.

Lovely hotel!
Super spot by the river, yet close to the action of Kho San Road
7.3
had a great stay at this hotel. it is at a great spot on the river and close to the dock for trips down the river to the grand palace etc. it is also close to the hussle and life of kho san road which is fun. there are a couple of excellent restaurants nearby, ricky's for breakfast and hemlock for dinner. it was a great way to start my trip.
the bar is great for a sundown drink!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take the boat from the dock which is almost part of the hotel to the grand palance, much faster than going by road and very scenic.
